    That cam car at 2:50 needs to take a long hard look at themselves too. Imagine passing the p-plater like that just because the cop held them up. They were lucky they didn't cause an accident there while they were busy judging the other car that was arguably less dangerous than the ridiculous manouvre they pulled.

      @@johnnichol9412 The cop didn't intend to have to make the right hand turn until the event took place. Where was he/she suppose to go? It was a last second turn, the P plater, really, shouldn't have been that close to the car in front of them in the first place, they were very close to rear ending the police car and the cam car was no better, had to pull to the left to avoid hitting the p plater.

    • @alandouglas2789
      @alandouglas2789 Год назад +24

      Completely disagree. There is plenty of room for the car to go to the left of the cop like dash cam car did. They almost caused an accident sitting there when people expect them to simply drive around an obstacle

    • @HavokTheorem
      @HavokTheorem Год назад +13

      @@alandouglas2789 This is one case where having a P plate might be legitimately useful, then. Making the judgment to swerve around a suddenly stopping car is not easy. You should ideally be checking your mirror and blind spot, but even experienced drivers might struggle to do that instinctively in a moment. The longer you wait, the more likely it is that the car behind you will try doing the same thing, so committing to stopping might be justified. This is a common and dangerous situation on narrower roads without a doubt, though.

      Just posting this cause I think a surprising amount of people don't know this, and it's an easy way to save a lot of money, as I believe every state has the same principle in the law:
      Can I be fined for driving through a yellow light?
      Yes. If you drive through a yellow light when you could have safely stopped prior to the intersection you are liable to be fined.
      The penalties for doing so in Victoria include the loss of three demerit points and up to 2.5 penalty units. For the 2022/2023 year, one penalty unit is equivalent to $184.92. This means you can be fined up to $462.30 for going through a yellow light.
      If you choose to dispute the fine in court and lose, up to ten penalty units can be applied, translating to a $1,849 fine.
      If you go through a yellow arrow, the penalty is doubled (that is, five penalty units can be deducted).

    • @JimmyNahlousVisuals
      @JimmyNahlousVisuals Год назад

      Totally, if it is safe to do so, you should stop for yellow, I always check my rear view then decide. Howeverrrr, I once was naughty and slowed down for a yellow turning left. Because I slowed down to make the turn from 60kph, my rear tyres did not cross the line and I got flashed! This was in sydney, $460 fine i think it was, and 2 demerit points.@@Ramroll_

      In NSW, you only have to slow to 40 if the emergency vehicle is stopped on the side of the road (depending on the road speed limit): "When passing a stopped emergency vehicle with flashing blue or red lights: if the speed limit is 80km/h or less, you must slow down to 40km/h. if the speed limit is over 80km/h, you must slow down safely and move over. This includes changing lanes on a multi-lane road, if it's safe to do so.

    Morons who freeze in the middle of the road instead of stopping where safe should have their license taken. 10:15

    In Australia...
    the Green light mean 'Go!',
    the Yellow light means 'Hurry up, mate!',
    and the Red light is just a 'suggestion' to stop :))

    What would you prefer? Being pulled over by a plod, or getting a letter in the mail 3 weeks after you've done something on the road? Personally, I'd prefer getting pulled over on the spot. At least you'd know immediately what you'd done wrong, and also you have a remote chance of talking yourself out of a ticket. A letter after 3 weeks does NOTHING to prevent chaos on the roads.

      I got done twice in a year - both in spots that have low traffic, no pedestrians, and both in a transition zone from 60 to 80 (two different spots in Port Stephens NSW). It took weeks for the tickets to arrive so I had no idea I'd been done. But after getting them I'm now so damn careful. That was 15 years ago and never got another one. So they do work- maybe not on everyone. But what shits me about mobile speed cameras is they are almost always in places which don't really matter if people do a few ks over the limit. They're never in spots where say kids could be killed.

    Absolutely heartwarming. Would love to see so many more of these videos. Would love it if all of the videos on the weekly wrap up had some pretty red and blue lights at the end of them.

    5:30 someone needs to give that cop a ticket too. Dude is lucky he got back control of the vehicle otherwise he could have been T-boned by that ranger. Shit like this is why I dislike cops, especially HWY Patrol. Either take more care in doing your job, or hand your badge in.

      im pretty sure thats a BMW M7 that the officer is driving. Yknow, the car with a turbo V12 in it? He wouldve breathed on the throttle and that thing wouldve spun in the dirt like that. But of course you havent driven anything outside your mums SUV so what would you know.
      Maybe you can get into policing if you think you can be more careful

      Yea cops have a duty to conduct their work safely just like every other road user has to. One ticket is not worth endangering others, especially when they had all the time in the world to catch up to the offending driver safely.
