With this car. you could maybe do the trip in one day! maybe 20 hours if you were pushing it. would be nice to see. but not correct that you only charged 1 hour 9min, because you also AC charged over nights. so if you did the trip with 800V charging only, you could do it with approx 4 x 20-25min charging stops with total of 1,5 hours chargetime. very impressive!
Men gränser kanske ligger just under 100kW med nuvarande inverter. Hade hoppats på högre hastighet.

Hi Guys and thank you for this video. I must say that I was rather disappointed in the rate of consumption at 18+ kw/hr. When I think of the consumption you have achieved with the Highland Model 3, the Model Y and the Renault Scenic, this Xpeng seems rather greedy.
Thanks for the video, great information, but please, can you explain better the cost of the trip? In august, i made a vacation Lisbon amesterdan and return, used ionity and zunder chargers and the cost was higher than yours ... Really higher... My consumption was lower, 15.3 Kwh... Soo, chinese magic or the hotel chargers were free 😜😇 Many thanks
Left from home with full charge (very cheap charging), Membership at Ionity and at Tesla resultet in ok kWh costs. Charging over night at the hotels was not that cheap, but at least cheaper than the fast chargers.
Many things the Y lacks for alot less money. But the frunk is missing. I really don't understand why not all manufacturers can package as well as lucid/tesla by now. It's been soooo long.
Yes it is a model Y challenger , but even more than this, it is better than the model X for usability, even if smaller and nicer on long term as quality of components is not the one of a Chinese brand but even better than a standard European brand, and it does not have the problems that the computing system of the luxuous European brands have... Understand me well, European brands are not bad, but Xpeng is better, and so is probably Yangwang, but I did not test them in the long term...
Hmm.. this is a brand new car the summer range is worse than a Mach e rwd long range. Though it charges faster. Interesting to se the the real numbers of consumption in 110kmh, 120kmh, 130kmh. But 18.8 is a good consumption overall. And ofc the winter range my guess is if its better than a model y than its a slight win. And a slight win isnt worth trading in a current car for.

What exactly was your aim with this roadtrip? Your consumption data is flawed - you didn't use the GPS distance and speed to correct for odometer errors, you didn't measure the consumption at constant GPS speed for a given GPS distance in a closed circuit (which is suposed to include a return through the same route). So, what gives? Working for sponsors? You keep comparing the car with the model Y but you forgot to mention to include a list of the mandatory maintenance and corresponding costs. And you didn't find absolutely any flaw which, of course, you found in the Model Y.

Needless to say, we stayed for some 35-40 minutes, the car was charged, we were about to explode from the really good food (roll me back into the sea), and we continued our journey.
Another nice stop which happened to have chargers was Tyrstrups kro who have 300kW e-on chargers on their parking lot. It looks like a barn, or a shed, in the middle of nowhere, on the side of the motorway. I thought Google Maps was misleading me, but who would've know, real 300kW chargers.
Inside, food was exquisite, and the chef greeted us and told us a bit about the history of the place.
I've located the placed You visited during Your trip as the food looked really good (hope the taste was there as well), will be visiting. :)
Keep up the great work, cheers
Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for sharing your insight on nice places to eat along the route..🙏
We were really hungry when we stopped in Hamburg and really enjoyed that place.

On a side note, to answer Your question whether this is a car worthy of being called a Tesla Model Y challenger - you'll probably be the one to tell us that, personally, I'd like to see a detailed overview of its software, as thats where Tesla truly excels.
Cheers
@zaneverovati model y comparison coming. Teslas software is hard to beat
For comparison, with all the easy accessable charging station and home charge in China, we can bring the cost down to 0.1rmb per km, which ia about 0.012Euro.
That's insane
the shirts match, the pants don't... amateurs! 🤣🤣 Just joking, great job, thanks a lot!
This car is now available for pre-order in Australia deliveries in last quarter of this year. That charge speed is amazing. How are the seats for comfort as your brother just before 8min mark noticed he was stretching or changing position in his seat so hope they are comfy. Efficiency is good as well overall. The limit on the supercharger sounds like other 800v cars like the Ioniq 5/6 also get the same limitation this car had. Wonder what the RWD version would have been like as should be more efficient and longer range.
Seats are very similar to the ones in Tesla Model Y.
@@ItsOnlyElectric I've rented a Model Y once to try it for weekend. Neither my kids nor I liked it, too minimalist and every time went through roadworks if a car was coming other way(not dual-motorway just 2-lane hwy) it decided to run away and car started slowing to zero so I had to take control every time. I don't remember the seat comfort to be fair don't think it was as nice as my new 2024 Kona EV from memory.
@TassieEV then the G6 may be a better choice for you. 👍
Good video, relaxed and very balanced in your comments, subscribed. I will now have to go and find more about the RWD version with LFP battery. The RWD pricing in Australia will be announced shortly, see if they can match Model Y pricing which is extremely competitive here.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! It will for sure match the Model Y pricing in Australia 🦘
Great review the G6 rocks. I wonder if you will ever review the bmw ix, its been in the market for many years now
Thank you! Waiting for the midlife refresh of the BMW IX end of this year.
@@ItsOnlyElectric I wonder how a $100k car that doesn’t even have double glazed windows compete in terms of interior noise. Maybe their Carbon fiber chassis might help with that
Yes me too. But even more important than the acoustic glass is the insulation in the doors and in the wheel arches.
@@ItsOnlyElectricoh I see. Yah you’re right
Is the actual G6 able to react (slow down and accelerate automatically) to speed limit signs? Other manufacturers call it predictive ACC.
It does react but you need to confirm the change with a press of a button before it actually adjusts the speed.
Tackar!

@kawwe79 jag hade valt g6 före ev6.
How did you experience the Xpilot? I heard so and so about it
It's really good. Video with more info on the way
Of course, it is above expectations, as all numbers are reduced to the strict warrantied, and they can be achieved by this vehicle when it will be 5 years old... Xpeng does not make any fake promises, and even promises far less than what they could promise .. Anything, especially the design, is very discreet, it does not look as it will look when you get used to your car and appreciate each centimeter inside it...
Yes, they usually seem to over deliver in a lot of range tests.
Great video! As you probably know the customer cars will be deliverd with XOS 5.2 which brings a new UI and features. Would be interesting to know if they did any tweaks to the motors, inverters etc. to make it even more efficient.
Yes, software still not in place in this car. They will be fitted with the new software before deliveries start in august.
And 5.2 looks awesome!
As my mom is from Hamburg, and I visited several times 40+ years ago, I really enjoyed seeing you stop off for a traditional meal. The G6 looks really nice, better than the Y in my opinion, but not available in the US (yet).
I will say, 2 drivers, with options to alternate sleep while driving, as well as sleep while charging, I'm surprised you stopped off for a night, that makes for a long trip.
We could have done it that way, taking turns sleeping but wanted us both to be active during the whole video
Xpeng actually qualifies tier 1 autopilot after Huawei's AITO and Avatr, alongside Tesla, ahead of NIO and Li-Auto back in Mainland China, wonder if it is legal for you guys to test that function in Europe?
No probably not..but important to note is that Xpeng Europe only are on xpilot 2.5. so far from the latest hardware and capabilities as in China.
@@ItsOnlyElectric Noted, thank you~

@enigmatum yes, read that. But will probably be hard with FSD without lidar. But will see.

Cool road trip video! How fast did you go on av. until your first stop in Hamburg - also 100km/h?
To Hamburg average around 105.
Review from XPENG G6 owner from China. You feel LCC+ with cameras is good? You got to try Chinese version with lidar, fully capable of autopilot in cities, better than FSD as I can see.
It would be exciting to test.
What a great road trip with your brother! I will show this to my brother and suggest we go on an EV journey!
Perfect, do it! Perfect way to bond!
where is the location at the final ending?
Stockholm, Solna.
Fantastic video. The driving characteristics of the G6 is interesting. But more interesting is your choice of food! 😂😎

Tesla chargers are 400 volt, so it depends on how good the HV booster is in the car if its a 800 volt :)

Ground clearance seem to be 1600mm..

Nice review 👏👏👏
Thank you 🙂
91kW on the 440volt SCs was entirely predictable. That is the problem with 800volt it is too far ahead of many chargers.
At the same time, that`s 20kw more then I have ever gotten on my Enyaq iv80 2021, no matter which charger I`m on :D
@@Tafsern How did you manage this?...usually MEBs charge above 130kw if the SoC is bellow 15%...never get really high performance if you start charging above this SoC.
Because It's lacking battery preconditioning for fast charging before MY 2024. So most of the time the pack is way too cold to reach top speeds in Scandinavia.
@@ItsOnlyElectric This is the correct answer :)
It's sweet how you say 1700!!!! km drive with awe. Like that's long distance. :-)
😂 what is long distance for you?
How was the navigation and the support for charging? Did it advise you where to charge like tesla? Can you use the navigation as a complete route planner? Thanks
Yes it did add charge stops to the route if necessary and if you confirm. But not perfect on the current software. Expect it to get better on the upcoming big update.
I had a short test drive in that car in Holland. What did you think of the symbols in the smaller screen? For me they where hard to read. Especially the speed signs. Did not know if you van make these bigger? Hope xpeng is fast with software updates. I ordered a g6 already.🎉 coming from a m3 I am gonna miss the dashcam function and sentrymode.😢
Symbols and text on the instrument cluster is way too small even if I have perfect eye vision.
Didn't find a way of changing font size on the instrument cluster. But hope that the new software will solve that. Still running on s beta software.
I love it! And your videos ...
Thank you! Glad you enjoy
How far are you getting at freeway speeds before needing to charge
Just around 400km.in 1110km/h
Great video!
Thanks 🙏
Do you know if xpeng is aware of the tesla charger problem? Does it have ota updates?
I think they are aware and maybe it's not possible to fix. Will try to get more info.
Yes, in one go it will be as you say. Less than two hours of charging. But probably time it with food anyway.

But this was tested in a higher average speed.
Thanks for the video, great information, but please, can you explain better the cost of the trip?
In august, i made a vacation Lisbon amesterdan and return, used ionity and zunder chargers and the cost was higher than yours ... Really higher... My consumption was lower, 15.3 Kwh... Soo, chinese magic or the hotel chargers were free 😜😇
Many thanks
Left from home with full charge (very cheap charging), Membership at Ionity and at Tesla resultet in ok kWh costs. Charging over night at the hotels was not that cheap, but at least cheaper than the fast chargers.
Thanks. Congratulations for your work. Drive safe.
Many things the Y lacks for alot less money. But the frunk is missing. I really don't understand why not all manufacturers can package as well as lucid/tesla by now. It's been soooo long.
Agree, I'm really missing a frunk on a lot of cars, actually most EVs..used my frunk on my model y today..

Its looks very good though
No, not worth changing but it's a legit alternative for new ev buyers

Not as efficient as Tesla Y and EPA range would probably be 280 miles. Not there yet.
Actually not that far from the Model Y Performance. I got 17.2kWh/km in similar conditions. So 1.3kWh/km in difference. But very hard to beat Teslas efficiency.
19 kmh per hundred kilometres is fairly average perhaps given it’s a heavier than average EV it might be slightly better than others

Yes, that's a more fair comparison
@@nilsludwigable The G9 and EL6 are very similar. Range is a bit better as standard with the G9 but Nio you can temporarily upgrade batteries with more range than the G9. G9 has faster charging except if you battery swap in the Nio. Price and performance are very similar (top of the range G9). The build quality and material quality of the Nio is much better as is the service and ecosystem. Nio is also seen as more of a premium brand, in China anyway. What a Boeing Video. Only showing two guys sitting in a car Talking….wow….
Distance measured with Google maps and consumption based on both what the cars claims and kWh charged. 🥳
