Sometimes to stay consistent I have to allow myself to just read and meditate on scripture instead of doing a deep study every day. Sometimes I go through my old Bible journal notes or my prayer journal and just read over what God has already done in my life. It’s a great refresher to see the faithfulness of God and usually gives me the strength I need to go back into my deeper studies.

I've been using the Youversion Bible app reading plans for my quiet time recently! I'm doing a reading plan with my dad which has been amazing. I tend to overthink things, but that keeps it simple for me so I can just enjoy listening and reading. And it keeps me consistent! I'm not a mom, but I'm in incoming senior in high school trying to juggle homeschool, family, and my passion for violin and music so my time has been all over the place lately.

I have a 6 month old and I’ve found that usually my quiet time for prayer and Bible reading works best in the late morning while my son is taking his first nap. But of course I also want him to see his mama get into the Word and set an example for him as he gets older❤️

I can’t believe Theo’s growing up so fast! I’m currently using the Tony Evan nasb study Bible and reading through the Bible in a year! I read about 2-4 chapters a day and I spend time reading the commentary, trying ti find answers to my questions (sometimes with the help of google) and I always write down anything I learn, and I have a highlighting color code system that I use. It’s been working well for me and I’ve been consistent. If I can’t find time during the day, I’ll stay up late to read my Bible and spend time with God ❤

I have 8 children, 18 down to 2. I found that in the morning they get along the best and are happy playing. I also teach them early to get their own breakfast and help the younger ones. We always have cereal, oatmeal, toast and eggs they can make, sometimes with help from an older sibling. I get up and make myself coffee and breakfast, and take it right back to my room and lock the door! I'm able to eat, read my bible and have some prayer time. Sometimes they knock (or just yell) on the door because they need something, or someone spills, or the 2 year old wakes up soaking wet and needs a change. I take care of it and tell them I'm still doing my bible study and try to go right back to my room and lock the door! If the doors not locked, they will just come in to ask me questions that can wait til later. After years of doing this, I can now have a decent quiet time most mornings. I did start setting my alarm earlier so I'd have extra time with Jesus recently too! This came about after many years of struggling to find time. It is a lot harder when you only have little ones that need you all the time. I think you have to really make it a priority and be flexible. That's just a season though, soon you will have bigger kids that can fend for themselves and also be great helpers.

Hi Ashley, my quiet time is mornings and bedtime. Jesus is showing me how to be more intentional in my non believing relationships where I get distracted and pulled off course. He told me to remember to abide minute by minute, and just say his name, and refocus. And he gave me the scripture, the name of the lord is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and are saved. So simple and quick, just return to his name. Thank you for your videos. Theo is growing up so fast! You are both great parents! Have a great night! Much love and peace! Ruth 💖 💖 💖 xoxo

I have a 2 yo & my step daughters are 17 & 15. Some mornings I have my 2 yo watch Chosen Kids so I can read and other times she’ll sit in my lap and I’ll read it to her. Always points and says mamas Bible 🥰. Other days I listen on the Bible app. It all depends on how cheeky my toddler is acting. The main thing is getting into the word doesn’t matter how. Motherhood is a ministry that God has given me and as she gets older I’ll get more time back but I’m enjoying a simple reading/listening plan that isn’t to involved but I can still do something.

You are doing what you can, so be proud of yourself!
I have to get up before my kids (around 5:30) to start my reading tasks for the day. It is crucial, because I do not get another time throughout day to read until afternoon nap time! With 3 kids, you just basically have to sacrifice sleep to get essentials done… but you’re already used to not sleeping so it’s not much of an adjustment!

Hey Ashley! I feel what you’re saying so much. I feel like every age and season is so different. And finding quiet time and what it looks like is every changing and will look different in every season with a child. Now, I only have a 4 year old but when she was younger I struggled to find the time. I resorted to after I put her down for the night. Which worked great when she was younger. And honestly, I just try to read and study whenever I get the chance whether she’s awake or asleep. She doesn’t really nap anymore but she does do her own quiet time in her room and that’s when I will do mine in the living room. She’s also school age so if I’m not busy during while she’s at school. I will say with each year that passes so far, it’s gotten easier and easier to find time to do quiet time. The initial introduction of be doing a Bible study in front of her when she was old enough and mobile was a little rough but I stayed consisted and now at 4 she knows what I’m doing and will come up and say “momma Bible study?” And will keep her self busy with toys. She knows now to give me time but she also comes and sits in my lap while I read and we both enjoy it. Snuggles and reading the Bible?! The best! I also encourage her “interruptions” I guess is the best word here? Because then I use the interruption time to teach her what I was just learning before the interruption. It helps me solidify what I was just learning and in turn getting to be able to teach her and wash her with the Word. And getting to be able to train her up in the way she should go. Hope this helps! Thank yall so much for making these videos! You all are always so encouraging and light to my days! 🫶🏼

Currently I’ve picked back up a Bible in a Year plan I started well over a year ago 😂 now that my babies are almost 3 years old and 14 months old I have more focus. I typically use our afternoon nap time to read and study.
Over the years whenever I have found it difficult to get into the Word I always return to the Psalms. I use Don Whitney’s Psalm of the Day, and God’s Word instructs my heart on how it should feel.

I am a first time stay at home mama who breastfeeds. My girl is 15 months old now and she still takes almost every single nap on me lol and when she is awake she requires/wants a lot if not all of my attention. So it has been challenging to say the least lol Ways I have started to get back into a routine is by holding my baby before her first nap and I put worship music on the tv. We sing and worship together and she loves this! When she goes for her first nap, I will put my air pods in and listen to scripture! Something else I do occasionally is pull out my physical Bible while she plays and has a show on in the background. I don’t do this often because I don’t want her in front of the screen but if I have to in order to get Bible reading in…I will. We are all so different and our babes are so different so I’m trying to remember that and give myself grace when needed.

I have friends who listen to the Bible as they drive to work…or as they do housework at home.
And I love the idea of listening to God’s word with the kiddos around. I wish I’d thought of that when mine were little, and they couldn’t read. Or that I read the Bible TO them more, when they were little. We did sometimes. Eventually, they had scheduled time to spend time with Jesus each day, but I didn’t think about playing Scripture FOR them then.

The Lord blessed us with triplets last year, which would make five girls 4 and under. It’s just me here while my husband is at work and I’ve struggled so much with where do I have quiet time. None of these babies sleep at night so getting up early is just not a thing right now. It’s honestly constant guilt everyday just talking to Him- where Lord where can I sit and read and study?! I feel- just talk to me -in my spirit and at night I read when everyone goes to bed. Like many others, I’ve started the Bible in a year and it’s been nice so far. I fit it in at night or daytime if I’m ever able to get that time. Thank you for all your videos, calming voice, study guides and honesty❤

It was a huge transition for me, going from having a very quiet daily study time to trying to do that once I had kids! When my first was born, she didn’t wake till around 8am, and then she played in her crib till 830/840, so I got up and had my coffee and time with God before getting her most days! My second, however, woke for the day between 5-530 am, so my days were QUITE different! And so my days were more kids running amok while I read and prayed. I think sometime around them being toddlers is when I started writing my prayers, vs praying more in my head, just because I couldn't keep things straight, or focused, unless I wrote it down!
A few years later, my husband’s job schedule changed, and instead of him leaving at 445am for work, he started leaving around 915! So my days were more everyone is home and doing stuff, while I was reading and praying. We have an open LR/kit, so it was all of everything going on…much much different than my silent quiet time days before we had kids! We got into a routine where we’d all sit together while the kids and my husband ate breakfast, and I drank my coffee, then the kids would do their chores before starting school (homeschooled), and my husband would get his shower, and I had about 15 min of them all being busy, where I could sit and be with God. And then it changed to me sitting with God AFTER my husband left for work, and the kids were busy with school (they were older and did school more on their own then).
There were days, too, where I sent the kids to their rooms to have their own time to talk to God…and we’d do our quiet times at the same time. I started scheduling them to have time for this before they could read…but they did have several picture Bibles, and they prayed to Him. As they got older, they chose what time they would spend with God, and it was different for each kid.
I remember sitting at my mil’s, when we were in for a visit, and it was my kids + my niece and nephew + mil, fil, and my husband all playing/chit-chatting, and she asked me how on earth I could sit there and have my quiet time with everyone doing whatever, lol! I was just used to it at that point! Now, it’s back to quiet again, with one moved out and the other working. I have my coffee, a dog in my lap to snuggle/nap, and I still write out my prayers (I process thru writing), and then read my Bible. I can spend more time with this now, again. Lol! It’s quieter and can be longer!

You're doing great mama! When I had my babies- things were quite zooey for awhile, especially in that newborn phase. At that point, it's just survival mode- sleep when baby sleeps, do the bare minimum. As they approached 8mos-a year they naturally had fallen into their own sleeping routine. I would have my time to do what I wanted during naptimes, also called quiet time. We kept quiet time a mandatory time in the afternoons as they got older and now none of our 5 kiddos nap anymore! But we STILL have designated quiet time where everyone can do something enjoyable, a quiet activity in their own space. It's a must for sanity sake!
I do distinctly remember once complaining to the Lord during one of my children's baby phase because it seemed I could hardly find time as before to just be in His Word and have a set time frame. Everyday was different. I felt like I was struggling in my emotions- snappy, grumpy, and the enemy was piling shame on me that I wasn't a good mother or wife. I told the Lord- "God- can't you just make my baby to sleep so I can have time in the Word? Don't you want me to be a good mother & wife?" The Holy Spirit replied "Do you think I care more about you reading My Word or living My Word?" Woooow. Of course the reading was important, but God showed me that day His Word becoming flesh in my own life, being sewn into my heart and expressed thru my life and actions was what He was really after!
God bless you on your journey!

For me as a busy mom/business owner with kids with behaviour disorders I have learnt to let go of the perfect routine, let go of the I have to spend x amount of time each day in Gods word.
I have learnt to be adaptable and prioritize what matters. Maybe my house is a wreck one day but I’m needing time in Gods word or time in Prayer, let the house be messy. Sometimes I can find time to be with God early in the morning, sometimes my child is awake early and needs my attention. Sometimes I have 20 minutes in between clients and that’s what I have that day with the word.
I used to let perfectionism control my life to the point where I wouldn’t do anything because it wouldn’t be perfect.
Thankfully after much prayer God has broken me of that.
Do what you can ladies whenever you can. No time no matter how long or in-depth it is is time wasted when it’s rooted in God.

I love getting up while if still nighttime, if possible, and that usually starts by going to bed early. I then feed my cats and drink some water and then begin my devotions to the Lord with prayer. I put on worship music and many times I sing to Him in the middle of our conversation. Then I read a book from the New Testament. Right now, I'm in Luke. Then I have my alarm set for 6:45am as Coffee Date with Jesus and it literally is that. At that time, I get dress and start making hot coffee. I feed the cat's outside and then drink my hot coffee as I watch the sunrise that the Lord created for us, as I sip my coffee and talk to Him, sing to Him, and compliment Him on His artwork. Then I go inside after a few minutes after the sunrise and hearing the birds chirping, and continue my devotions by reading from devotional books, journaling, and reading an Old Testament book. I also do the same at nighttime. I go outside in my sweater, and have a cup of coffee, and just watch the moon and stars in the sky and talk to the Lord as I drink my coffee, and praise Him, talk to Him about anything that's bothering me, compliment Him on His artwork at night and give Him thanks for the day, while the cats eat. I'm still in my single era, so my morning routine looks a little different than that of someone married or with children.
