"Ajoen ajoen" (van Ophuysen Spelling) is now spelt "ayun ayun" (EYD Spelling). "Ayun" is an Indonesian word for "swing". In Indonesia, we youngsters have never heard this Indonesian song. All I know is that this song was sung by Wieteke van Dort or Tante Lien. But not all Indonesians know this.
@@billmeyer5380 From the school, I know The Netherlands colonized Indonesia long time ago. Here some old people do not like to hear "Dutch colonization". However, I do not know why...I love Dutch windmills, Dutch chocolate of "van Houten", British TV series of "van der Valk", Anneke Grönloh, Sandra Reemer, Dries Holten, Heintje, Dutch music and films...anything related to Dutch language and culture. @@billmeyer5380 So, you do not live in The Netherlands. I live in Jakarta. I was born in 1974. Therefore, I was late. I was not very lucky. I was not there when Dutch singers were very famous in the world in 1960s-1970s. I love The Cats and Heintje. Indonesian people who were born after 1960s do not know anything about The Netherlands. Yes, you are right. There have been famous people from The Netherlands...I once heard things about Anthonie van Leeuwenhoek and Huygens. They were famous experts.
