Thanks mate. Glad you enjoyed the video. What was your go to training climber? For me I have 2 by me in Birmingham. Beacon Hill in the Lickey Hills and Winwood Heath Rd in the Clent Hill.
@@andrewon2wheels I live in N Yorkshire the main climbs were Carlton bank, Newgate bank, Sutton bank ,clay bank and numerous hills around commondale and hawnby 👍just a note the lowest gear I used was 42x22 🤣
Saw your post in the 100 climbs Strava club and gave the vid a watch whilst procrastinating from work. Thoroughly enjoyed and looks like a great event! I’m getting back into cycling after 4 years off the bike and this looks like the kind of sadistic hell I would look forward to 🤌🤣 Dropped a sub for your trouble 👍🏻
Thanks mate. Glad you enjoyed it. How come you’ve been off the bike for 4 years? Any plans on your return to cycling? Or just enjoying being on the saddle again?
Amazing effort for that day. It looked interesting but there is no way i would complete that in current state. And the weather not helped either. Good one
Thanks mate. I found the format of the ride very interesting. Planning your own route and picking which of the 15 climbs you want to do. I’m sure if you signed up for something with enough time to train you’d crack it. My next big event is in 3 months. Struggle Boarderlands, in the Yorkshire Dales. In my current fitness I couldn’t finish it fast enough to miss the cut off times. But knowing what I need to do means I have a target to aim at and know what I need to do in training.
That's a cracking video Andrew. 👏👏👏I'm grateful for all your time and trouble in putting it all together and bringing back the day. 👍 I'm glad to have avoided Bamford, I'd need my MTB for that. Agree about the traffic on Froggatt, that was my first one so I'm glad l did it early. And you got a puncture?! 😰Bad luck and not what you need especially when it's chucking it down and some. 💦Well done and fingers crossed conditions will be a bit more agreeable next time round when we can all enjoy it even more.
Thanks mate. I’m glad you enjoyed the video and it brought the day back to you. Yeah, froggatt wasn’t great with the traffic. Luckily all the drivers were kind and sensible when passing. Going early on there was probably a good idea on your part. Mtb maybe the option for Bamford Clough. The puncture really annoyed me. 😂😂 Fingers crossed for better weather next time. 🤞 ☀️
@@andrewon2wheels Yes definitely fingers crossed 🤞Well done for getting round and recording it even with the horrors of Bamford Clough and some puncture spice 😰on top. Hopefully a smooth one in the sunshine next time! 🌞
Well done Andrew. I'll try and make the next one. Hopefully somewhere with a heap of climbs I've not already done. Reckon there will be another this year?
Thanks mate. It was a good ride. I did restart on Honister pass! You can see that on my Honister pass vlog. The wind nearly made me fall over near the end.
Thanks mate. That was a bit mad. Haha I was going to ask for a selfie if he didn’t. Haha He was a real down to earth fella. Had time for everyone there.
As an 8st former climber when I raced I went looking for climbs when training. Now I’m retired I avoid them like the plague🤣great video cheers

Omg that easiest gear would kill me! Haha 😂

Nice video mate. Looked like a great event! Like the look of Wheel lane!
Thanks mate. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Wheel lane was a good one. Did enjoy that one. Liked that it was quiet on that road.

Not sure when or where. But Simon has confirmed on Strava in his post event report that there will be another one.
Brilliant effort mate, thing with the Lake District climbs, can’t start again if stop 😊

Great video mate & good effort on Bamford Clough, looked like a good day out. Just shame about the weather
Thanks mate. Glad you enjoyed the video.
It was a great day out, despite the awful weather!
dont underestimate the rain and its affect on you up a slight incline ;-).
Totally with you. Can make such a difference!
I had similar on Abdon Burf, in Shropshire. Rain ruined it. So had to go back another time.
Not bother with patch repair on your inner tube?
Never used them or been shown how to use them. So for that I’ve never really considered it tbh.
I'm 6'4" and 105 kg, and when it comes to hills, the lighter riders don't know how easy they've got it!
I’m not quite your height and weight. I’m 5’9’’ and 88kg. See the lighter riders fly by. Wishing I could fly up the climbs like they do.
