I think it's so amazing! I grew up on the Mississippi though, so I think that makes a big difference. Most females don't get the same awe as I do! Trains & barges/boats. I always wonder where they're going & where they're coming from!
75-80 trains per day; one of the busiest on the Mississippi. The bridge swings 90 degrees so river traffic can pass. Channel is actually deep enough for all barge sizes. Bridge is owned and maintained by the railroad, and the passenger area has a toll to cross.
@@richardbause2453I've never known that to be the case for where I grew up (La, MO) where one of the oldest swing train bridges is located 😆 now, I have known them to collide, unfortunately.
Thanks. I have a couple different drones. Id rather not go into details though for various reasons. If you are researching a drone for yourself, Ill just say you tend to get what you pay for, so it's better to get through the pain of a higher purchase price than end up with something less expensive but you don't like and don't use it.
Thanks! I think the average is around 60+ trains per day. There are 2 mainline tracks and a local ("K line"). Also, Amtrak's southwest Chief stops daily, eastbound in the morning and westbound in the evening.
@@bw6378 K-Line isn't really "local." It's the Hannibal Subdivision and runs from Burlington all the way to St. Louis. 6-8 trains per day, scheduled dailies and as-needed. Three-way meets are not uncommon on this stretch and are visible on Virtual Railfan's live-feed cameras.
My home town! Always a pleasure to see it. Thank you.
Thank you! 🍀💚🌿🍀🌻💛
Thank you for the video. It's great!
Non highway Transportation in America. So wonderful to see.

One can stop faster than the other...
Tolls to cross the bridge are suspended at this time. I don't know how much longer that will last though.
@@bw6378 possibly the water is low enough that they don't have to open up the bridge...🤔🤗🤗😁...

Ship 🚢 just tookout the RAILROAD bridge on the Suez Canal the other day. I think it was a swing bridge 🌉 🤔 .
Have you been to the super old one north of L&D 24 (Clarksville, MO)?
No I havent. I might have to check it out sometime. Thanks!
@@bw6378 a barge hit it several years back, but they were able to fix it, thankfully!
Great sound well done
Hello, nice video dude. What drone do you film with?

Why is the bridge so low and close to the water? Or is the Mississippi not navigable here?
The height of the bridge seems low because it has to match the grade of the railroad track.
Nice share thanks. Subbed.
Thanks for the sub!
Superawesome
Thanks!
Incredible drone shots! How many trains run by here per day?

There's a very bad wheel on that train.
