    He's one of my favorite players right now, been watching him since he came into the league. He's so versatile, can do almost anything, unselfish, team first player, great mindset and hustle, very smart player, great off-ball movement and great defensively as well. Jalen Williams is a magnificient basketball player, period.

    HOT TAKE: If Jalen Williams continues his development at the same rate, he will be a Kawhi Leonard level player. He's a fantastic secondary ballhandler, while also being a fantastic threat as both a catch and shoot option and as a cutter. While he isn't quite the generational defender Kawhi was, he doesn't have to be given the wealth of good wing defenders OKC has on their roster.

    • @SpecOpsCM
      @SpecOpsCM Месяц назад +9

      What he loses in defensive clamps he makes up for with all around play. Not many players can do everything that JDub does in year 3.

    • @superman10501
      @superman10501 Месяц назад +1

      His defense imo is already at kawhi level. I mean he is second in steals in the entire nba while also being a legit shot blocking rim protection presence… what more can you ask of him? The only reason he isn’t a poa defender is bc the team has specialist for that. He very well could be but the team comes first and him being able to play the 5 at all proves his defensive versatility. His free roaming back line safety role suits the team much better. He truly is a do it all Swiss Army knife.

    I think the addition of Caruso as well plus having more trust in Cason have also played a part in his defensive jump as he’s just being asked to guard less of the main ball handlers allowing him to preserve energy for things like getting though screens and giving him more roaming opportunities. Last season when Dort wud ne on bench it wud be him picking up the main scorer or even have secondary scorer responsibility w Dort in the game

      Tatum just doesn’t attack the rim enough. He has the capability to and the proper teammates that create space for those opportunities. Draymond even said that during the finals they wanted him to keep shooting and not attack the rim

      @@accordingtodrew7302 I disagree some what especially when the Celtics mainly play a drive and kick offense with Tatum doing most the driving and kicking it out to a 3pt shooter. Instead of kicking it every time, shoot a floater every now and then. The crazy things, Tatum is essentially a guard on offense. All the other guards uses that same floater or some variation of it whether it be a hook shot, push shot etc. From the greats like Curry and Luka, all the way to the good guys like Trey Young and his own teammate D. White. Tallest guy is Luka at 6’7”. Tatum is 6’9” and longer than all of them. It should be easier for him to get that shot off. It will only help his team and himself. For his team, it bails them out when the 3 isn’t falling and guys get more open because the other team is not guarding Tatum for the shot and pass instead of just the pass. Guys gonna get easier opportunities to score off that attention he’ll get. For himself, he’ll be more efficient and if that becomes his go to move(which he doesn’t have), he can then develop a counter move from that if that DONT work which he also doesn’t have(counter move that is). That counter move may be an extra dribble baseline for a jumper. Then all of a sudden, he’s a mismatch. People will no longer hesitate to have him in there Top 5. Will just be better for both him and the team.

    Ignoring everything, some of your very first words with saying that every player is able to make decisions and make their own space. I feel like that’s where the game is headed and should be. In traditional ball every position plays a role, but in the new game, centers should be able shoot, point guards play passable at minimum defense, defenders play 5-10ppg offense, but in post season, defenders prioritize defense and offenders prioritize offense.
