could give a bit of a background as to what you used prior to this purchase? I have a old 12 " Canadian made , but I am thinking of moving up as I wish to cut resaw 8x8 timber as I have a supply of 8x8x3 feet l. This is a great step if this is your first bandsaw

Yes this my first bandsaw, I believe this saw would slice right through your timber!
