  • The students of the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) Conservation Police's 11th Basic Training Academy recently completed their 16-hour Officer Water Survival (OWS) course in accordance with the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) Boat Operations and Training (BOAT) Program. The purpose of the course is to provide our new officers the skills necessary to survive in and around the water. This course prepares the officer for the unexpected immersion into the water. A key element of this course is preparing the participants to become proficient in water survival skills and awareness on how to use their duty gear and survival equipment to increase their chances of survival. The students demonstrated proficiency of each of the subject areas outlined in the course modules through a compilation of measures including objective testing, scenario review, class discussion, practical activities, and verification of course prerequisites.
The NASBLA OWS program is in place by many agencies across the country and was added to the Basic Training Academy’s curriculum in 2021. The class has been preparing for this strenuous class by swimming regularly and receiving swim lessons, as needed. The helpful staff at Burkwood Swim and Racquet Club have been working with our class as part of the scheduled physical training program.

Great training! I knew a Conservation officer in NC that had a guy try and drown him in a creek once. He taught defensive tactics at my academy. So, this type training can save your life.

So I have this an idea Patton maybe to have like an oxygen rotation with like rainbow coordination with rock spirals with heating underneath the bridge but you're doing it through mineral growth to develop the shadow participation of the sun and moon and you would like hang developing fruit or like grapes and stuff like that and coordinate the patterns if you use hanging lines that would form oxygen or color spreads that would produce nutrition in between depth levels to feed our fish and wildlife or try to understand how the adoption of the triangle or the arrow if it's participated in open rotations will start directing inside out of the atmosphere or what depth layer it would take place in the water spread

You like one of my main purpose of this design is to not see your grave no more to be able to realign and ask some of the participants of nature like our fish or bacteria if they can participate with us bringing our people back and we participate with them and have it constructively balanced in multiple places even to bring their lives back out of the graves and it would be a balance that would stay in place so we could help bring their lives up into the orchestration of him not having to be on our supper tables
