I truly don't think she was arrogant about her accomplishments, at all. Sometimes I think it's necessary for one to share their personal testimony with others, (who also did not have the best start in life), about their own struggles in life as well. Dr. Nina, (like many of us), was not born with a silver spoon in her mouth. She didn't have the best start in life. Her adopted "single mother" worked her tail off just to make ends meet because of living in poverty. Dr. Nina had to feel some sort of feelings of hurt and abandonment by her biological parents. She started tearing up when she mentioned being a baby left at a hospital. I know for me personally, I appreciate hearing testimonies like this. I still struggle with having confidence/believing in myself...and I'm in my 40's. I grew up without both parents, raised by two ppl who "were not" in the right frame of mind to be raising children, constantly belittled, (which really caused low self esteem issues for me), and then I turned to the streets, which lead to drug and alcohol use. So, this msg is really about believing in yourself, no matter if your circumstances started out hopeless...and! I think there's a huge difference in being 'too prideful' about one self--and just being plain ole 'proud' of persevering through difficult obstacles.
Thank you for this! This is so inspirational, motivational and extremely relatable! I feel so blessed to have found this video, I cannot explain but I have come to understand the power of changing my thinking and understanding it's power I've been doing research and creating my own philosophy that parallels with what you've touched upon! Bless you in every way, I'm so thankful to G'd. You are leading the way and I hope I can reach a point like you! This is the truth #Respect
I wish l could meet her, and she start her own behavioral health platform for therapy, life and wellness coaching. I need to explore her website and really do that 8 day mentorship and pray for the type of therapist/life coach I need. Sitting here realizing so much that I have gone through and have accomplished and not giving myself enough credit and encouragement for what Jehovah God has helped me accomplish. I am one to admit my self esteem is low, but I want to change that so bad and see the person Jehovah God sees and be her
Other than saying the word psychological well-being and having it in the title of her presentation, she doesnt mention it again. This is a pitch for her book and talking about herself. No grounded theory, no concepts, just her reflecting on her life couched in her acronym for psychological resilience.
I would say keep working on improving at motivational speaking. The pronunciation of "humble" was odd. Furthermore, too many times this veered away from motivation and focused on "look at my accomplishments" "I'm so perfect". There is a thin line between sharing the challenges you've overcome to motivate others and bragging about yourself. This was the latter for me.
In general, I like her. I watch her RUclips channel "Beautiful Brwn Babydoll" quite often. But yes, in her task to motivate, she does have a tendency to boast...and she admits to her arrogance on her channel quite often! She states that it's healthy. People shouldn't get mad at you for pointing out the bragging, it's truly there. The lady has a lot to be proud of :-).
I am subscribed to her and I totally agree. She doesn't focus on motivating as much as she focuses on her own accomplishments. She has good points and she is a great example but the focus on herself takes away from her message a bit.
sysmjp3 I agree with you , and there is a lot of people who will say, problems hey'' get over it. here,s the solution its easy to get over it .its not and I believe governments, health services are very quite willing to fill the electorate, patients etc etc ,and more or less ,say we have went to universities and we know all the answers to get you better ha ha look its easy while getting very well payed and having power over your life and future , when these get very well paid go home in there lovely cars and they can dismiss you and your only means of money stopped ,sickness benefit ,are under threat and stressed and your well being is under threat by not letting you have time and space and comfort and to really believe your complete physical and mental health .all for the sake of a pittance of sickness benefit or whatever they do not want to pay ,they probably spend more on a coffee than we need to get to live on ..if a government official, doctor, therapist, mental health etc etc said from the very start from now you do not worry about your allowance receiving it or especially losing it that should be number one priority, and on the first step to you getting better and no pressure put on you as though there was a time limit,
She's not bragging she's showing anything is possible if you work hard. She should be proud of her accomplishments.
Watching Dr.Nina now and seeing this I'm humbled

We should not be so quick to criticize and see the genuineness in what a person conveys.
