Aerith's heartfelt appeal takes center stage in the theme song for FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH, the second of three installments in the FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE project, which brings the classic RPG to life once more via cutting-edge technology.
REBIRTH begins with Cloud and his companions─Barret, Tifa, Aerith, and Red XIII─leaving the metropolis of Midgar behind and pursuing the fallen hero Sephiroth.
The twists and turns of this epic adventure are marked with exhilarating fights and breathtaking views across a vast world, providing an experience unlike any other.
Lending her vocals to "No Promises to Keep" is songstress Loren Allred, best known for her electrifying performance of "Never Enough" in The Greatest Showman.
Lyrics and music were written by Kazushige Nojima and Nobuo Uematsu, respectively.
This single also includes a special rendition of the song as performed by Loren and accompanied by Nobuo's band, conTIKI.
*Note that the version of the song featured on this release differs from the one contained in the FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH Original Soundtrack and FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH Original Soundtrack ~Special Edit Version~ releasing on April 10th.

■Loren Allred
Loren Allred is a singer and songwriter who gained acclaim for her astounding vocal performance of the multi-platinum song "Never Enough" from the Oscar-nominated and Grammy award-winning "The Greatest Showman" soundtrack and film. Although she wasn't a familiar face to the public, in April 2022, Loren appeared on Britain's Got Talent, where she performed "Never Enough" and received a Golden Buzzer, sending shockwaves throughout the industry. Loren is widely regarded as one of the industry's greatest voices and has collaborated with Michael Bublé and toured globally with recording legends Andrea Bocelli and David Foster.

Nobuo Uematsu has composed for numerous blockbuster video game titles including the hugely popular game franchise, “Final Fantasy”. The theme song from Final Fantasy VIII, "Eyes On Me" written and produced by Uematsu for Hong Kong pop star Faye Wong, sold over 400,000 copies worldwide, and its record breaking sales eventually lead the song to win the “Song of the Year (Western Music)” award at the 14th Annual Japan Gold Disc Awards in 1999. 予告で聴いた時、久しぶりにFF8や9をやってた時の曲を聴きたいが為にやってた記憶というか当時の夢中でやってたFFを一瞬で思い返させてくれた歌声でした。
何回聴いても泣ける。FF主題歌史上最高傑作。

エアリスがクラウドや仲間を守る為に、リバースではセトラの役割に殉じる道を選らんでしまったけど、22才の女の子として本当は何を望んでいたのか、何を諦めたのか。それでも心の底にある素直な気持ちや僅かな希望を、作詞作曲は勿論、ローレンさんの歌声全てで表現されていて・・・😢

I choked up during this part in the game. Absolutely beautiful emotional song 😢 There is no other group of characters in a video game that I have cared more for than Final Fantasy VII. Glad I am still alive to have experienced Rebirth and hope to still be around for the final part.
I always shed a tear when i hear this song because of the finale of rebirth
普通は「出会いは運命」なんて言うと、ロマンチックな意味になるけど、エアリスにとっての運命っていうのはポジティブなイメージがないんだろうな。
だから、「運命なんて信じたくない」し、「偶然あのかどで」また会いたいなってなるのかな。
そして約束なんかなくても幸せを続けたい。永遠を夢見るセフィロスと真逆。

野島さん植松さん野村さんの対談で作詞の野島さんが、恋の歌として聞いてもらってもいいが、
エアリスの気持ちを歌った曲ではあるがクラウドやザックス個人に向けて歌ったわけではなく
今まで出会った人好きな人たち（エルミナ、クラウド、ザックス、ティファ、その他大勢）
とずっと一緒に・・・ということらしい
ぜひクラティ派の方々にも購入していただきたいですね
そのように言っておくのはHollowなど、前作でも一緒なんで、大衆向けにというのはある意味決まり文句でもありますね。
歌詞の内容からするとある程度明らかではありますが、公式としては濁すという感じになるかなと。
原作もリバースも特定のカップルは作ってないよという公式のメッセージでもあります。
過去一のゲーム体験を盛り上げてくれた神曲。本当にありがとう。

@@julianogesteira2501日本語で本当に申し訳ないが、答えさせていただきます。まず前提として、前作の初週推定売上は約140万本(前作のパッケージ版初週売上が約70万本、前作発売当時のスクエアエニックスタイトルのパッケージ版ダウンロード版購入比率が1:1なので)、今作の初週推定売上が約80～100万本(今作のパッケージ版初週売上が約26万本、現在のスクエアエニックスタイトルのパッケージ版ダウンロード版購入比率が1:4なので125万本と思うかもしれませんが、この統計にはダウンロード版しかないタイトルも含まれているため、実際の比率はおそらく1:2から1:3の間程程度。ここに前作と今作のセットがダウンロード版限定で3分の2の値段で買えるセールがやっていたことも考えるとリバースの購入比率は1:3行ってないくらいだと考えられるため)です。なぜ今作の初週売上が前作の3分の2ほどになってしまったのかと言うと、一番大きな理由は今作が発売されたps5の普及率がps4の半分程だからです。その時点で購入を検討する人の数自体が前作の半分ということになるので、売上がそのまま半分になってもおかしくありません。そこに三部作の二作目は購入者が減ることが一般的なこと、前作が後にゲームパス(サブスク)でできるようになったことによるユーザーの購入意欲減少を考えると初週売上が50万本でも妥当と言えます。なので今作の売上が前作に比べて下がるのは至って普通、当たり前なのです。

パート2がどんなに名作でも、様々な要因があり前作を超える売り上げになることはありません。残念ですが、それがゲームのクオリティと比例しているわけではありません。
だからゲームオブザイヤーを受賞する可能性は高いです。

まとめると、売り上げの減少の理由は
①続編は半分しか売れない
②ゲームに触れる機会の減少
この二つが分かりやすい原因では無いかと思いました。
しかし、売り上げとゲームのクオリティは比例していません。間違いなくFF史上稀に見る傑作です。
パート2がゲームオブザイヤーを獲る可能性があります。

自分はクラウドが大好きなのでインタにてローレンさんがクラウドとの関係を曲にのせてラブソングを歌ってくれたことに感謝しています。
解釈は自由なので、混雑のところのクラウドというところを（もちろん発音も意味も違います）クラウド君と解釈して聞いています。ありがとうございます！
この曲はｆｆ７の枠を超えて王道ラブソングとして伝わってくれたらいいなと思っています！
私も人混み？の歌詞の部分でクラウドって言ってるように聞こえるなぁ…と単純に思ったので、同じように感じている方がいてくれて嬉しいです！
最初の歌詞やあのかどでっていうのはクラウドとの初めての出会いの場所しか思い当たらないので最初はシンプルにクラウドのことを想って、そこから作詞に熱が入って大切な色んな人達にも向けて明日も会いたいなって思いながら考えた歌詞なのかなって野島さんのインタビュー聞いて思いました😊

自分はクラウドが好きで、クラウドは７の主人公ですし、クラウドをプレイヤーとして動かしているのでなぜ俺だけに歌ってくれないの？？という感じです（笑）７界隈は意味不明です・・・ラブソングはラブソングたりて売れるのにもったいない。
そしておっしゃる通り歌詞も最初から最後までぴったし合うのはクラウドですし。

@PerfectEclipse I don't know if you've watched the new video with nomura uematsu and nojima but they said the song is not about a specific person. They said it's about Aerith's relationships with everyone she's met. I'm actually surprised they backtracked on her feelings for Cloud.

It was only Nojima, and he didn't say the song was not about Cloud, he only affirmed that parts of the song were about Aerith's feelings for other people.
In short, nothing has been greatly changed except that the song is not exclusively about Cloud.

エアリスからのクラウドへのラブソングというのもうれしいし、とにかく3作目でクラウドとエアリスが再会して手を離さないでほしい。GSのクラウドが再会の花を胸にあてる演出もすごくよかったし、そういう希望を与えてくれた曲。また８番街のあのかどであの道であえるはず。

Marlene literally tells Zack that Aerith has feelings for Cloud as in she LIKES Cloud. Cloud and Aerith go on a date at the end of the game where they hold hands and Aerith confesses to Cloud that she likes him (to which his face brightens up). Aerith tells Cloud that she likes Cloud for himself, and she wants to be with HIM. Aerith makes Cloud smile and makes his walls come down like no other person in the game does. They hold hands at the end of the game and interlock fingers after defeating Sephiroth. No Promises to Keep is LITERALLY about their relationship.
“They all have feelings for each other,” is bullshit, and you know it. Sure the whole party cares about each other, but Cloud and Aerith have fallen for each other and definitely have a special relationship outside of the others. *You* learn the differences because it’s evident you have blinders on and are ignoring the context that’s laid out quite clearly.

This is an absolute masterpiece and in the same league of main themes as Eyes on Me, Melodies of Life, and Suteki Da Ne. Also Loren is a phenomenal talent. Discovered her on Britain’s got Talent as the singer of Never Enough and was really hoping she’d become huge so am really glad she was chosen to sing a ff theme song.

Regardless on if the song is about Cloud (which it most certainly is) Aerith says "At least I know now, where you and I stand I mean" and "I like you, but then like can mean a lot of things can't it cause there's liking and liking" so she is obviously confused about what she feels for Cloud how did that fly over your head? Zack also never accepted her feelings what are you talking about? For starters he doesn't even speak to Aerith in the game, all Marlene says is Aerith likes Cloud and if you look at the next shot it shows his lips trembling because he's clearly upset at the idea, he hides it by acting cheery infront of Marlene because he's not exactly going to act upset infront of a child is he. Him trying to save Cloud in order to save Aerith is not "him accepting her feelings" It's him being a great guy as he is and realising things are bigger than him, his feelings or Aerith's feelings, it's about saving her life so of course because he loves her he's going to try and help Cloud to save Aerith's life. He even has a little moment with Cloud afterwards (in many languages) how he and Cloud need to talk, how he feels like hitting him, or how he hates him a little bit. So ship whatever you want but please stop making stuff up for the sake of it.
