- Sometimes, you just have to laugh when times are tough. South Park's Pandemic Special did a good job of making us do just that.

I weirdly enough related to Cartman in this special, even though I was an essential worker. It was so peaceful, no tourists crowding the streets or packed trains, plus absolutely nothing to do at work. If there's one thing that I'm gonna miss from those times, it's that peace and quiet.
Same. We started closing early, no one was in the store after the first few days, I would just go in and do a cleaning shift (only cleaning cuz of covid) and then get to leave. Ended pretty quickly, its more busy than its been in years now
I particularly liked the corporate ads pretending they actually care about people.

i was also an essenctial worker I just loved there was no traffic and that it was quite always at night. im glad most if back to normal though

and then Kyles dumbfounded "I cant believe it...", its a really strong scene. Partnered with Eric's ending in the Post Covid Special it really shows that deep down he does love the guys a lot.

I like the soft music you put in the background of your voice, and when it stops when you drive certain points home or include scenes. It makes the video soothing and informative at the same time. Great work. 👍

I always found it hilarious that at 9:41 when all the parents are on Zoom, Kenny's mom is the only one who's still using the default iPad username. Clearly this has to be because they're poor meth addicts who probably stole the device or did some kind of a trade. Hilarious attention to character detail that you almost miss if you're not paying attention 🤣
Quite an impactful moment when Cartman doesn't kill the pangolin.
Did you notice that when the scene shifts to Disneyland and Mickey Mouse the statue of Mickey and Walt has the same ominous feel as the Kim statues in North Korea
Implying that Mickey runs Disney similar to how Kim runs North korea
Craig's dad punching butter's dad was so satisfying to watch
Honestly I identified with cartman in that first scene. I loved those ads with companies pretending like they cared about more then just money. “We know it’s been tough and can’t wait to see you again.”
"times are hard, so we're working hard to keep you taken care of"
Translation : "I know you're stuck at home, but we're finding ways to still be able to make sure your paycheck is spent before it's cashed."
The scene where Stan breaks down really hit me. I'm an adult an I've surely thought about the affects on very young kids in their inital formative years -like babies and toddlers- and how this will be the norm. But I really hadn't thought about the psyche of young kids (approx. age group of the sp kids) who are old enough to have a relative grasp on their world and schema. They're old enough to understand that this isn't what they know, but they are still...just kids.
Idk it hit me hard that I'd never even considered that particular developmental stage until this episode...
I think the reason it worked so well is they made sure they told ALL of us how stupid we’ve been and how mean and hostile we’ve been through such a hard time where it would’ve been really nice if everyone felt the same and supported each other and Matt and trey break up us kids in the backseat saying you’re both being children now think about that 😂
This may be true but only one child in this situation is stripping civil liberties from the other
when I originally watched the episode, I thought Sharon having Randy's mustache was a joke on her giving Randy some 'quality' time but the Pandemic Special makes a lot of sense too
I spent time at home with my hubby, went biking in the country side, renovated the house and lost weight. An amazing year 👍

man i was like cartman i loved the fact that we were homeschooled i did so much better than in normal school but then the pandemic calmed down just a bit and we went back to public school

This video has actually been finished for a while now, but when I went to upload it it was blocked by Viacom on the grounds of copyright infringement. I appealed it and they denied the appeal, so I’m currently in the process of a second appeal, however the video isn’t blocked as of now so I decided to make it public. I always thought the mask gag was laughing at people who wear them but don't wear them properly since they're pretty pointless if you don't cover the nose.
I lost four of my family in the beginning of 2020 - the lockdown was horrible, yet so changing. I rediscovered South Park that year, i loved that show as a kindergartener and once had a tantrum cuz i wanted to watch it so bad lmao. South Park helped me through the Pandemic so much, it will always have a special place in my heart
I truly feel sorry for everyone who had to live though the pandemic...I live in a red state, so we never shut down, and never had any mandates.. literally nothing changed for us, but I saw what others were going through, and I'm just happy it's pretty much over now.

You were lucky in most ways. I live in a swing state that’s been blue in 2020 and midterms but I live in a county particular a neighborhood that’s vastly red only 2 miles outside a major city on the east coast that’s very progressive so I got a taste of both having family,friends,restaurants,malls,stores,doctors, etc that are in or live in the city where it was full out restrictions and make while at home a red ran county just 2 miles outside city loose and eventually very loose restrictions towards the second half of CV19. I’m glad things are getting back to normal also for everyone it vastly effected people already struggling CV19. Great Comment btw 👍🏻💯👏🏻

The Pandemic Special and The Vaccine Special saved my opinion of South Park. The last season before this was very meh to me. I have restored faith in Stone and Parker. And the last few season before that kinda sucked in my opinion

I loved this episode. Cartman's opening song about "existence-ing" while "social distance-ing" was the perfect way to open the show. (It is being called the "Introvert Anthem" and searching for it led me to revisit the brilliance of the "Book of Mormon", so I get more SP notifications than I can count.) By the time they brought Eric in squealing, I was already laughing, so to follow it up with the police bit and then Garrison, I was done!😂 While it WAS a bit on the nose/over the line, when Garrison said: "I am going to ACTIVELY do nothing.", I was literally rotf. I think Matt & Trey went back to their roots where 45 is concerned, and decided to be as subtle as he is..😂🙃🤣 I liked this analysis a lot.

Know this is an older video and the pandemic is mostly behind us now in 2024.
But for myself the pandemic, somehow was just, for the most part a good change of pace.
Yes I was constantly worried for my family worried they’d be taken from me by the virus. But at the same time on a personal level I was still more or less happy.
Not having the monotony of going to school everyday was a welcome change of pace from the past decade and a half of doing it. As an introvert myself being able to stay indoors but still able to talk with my friends when I wanted to meant that I didn’t feel chained down.
I absolutely love the video idea keep it up :)
Christ, the lockdowns. It's weird to think about only a few years. I remember it but as a never ending malaise. I remebr the scorching summer during the first year and being able to enjoy the rare heat wave. But i cant even remember the winter anything after that. Just me in my room. Proughing through youtube or video games and the like.

I loved this episode, as well as your channel. I personally related so much to Stan,I hated not living my kife as always... i was felling has i was living the same day over and over: staying in the computer for the whole day to study and crying. That was my routine. I'm so happy that the whole situation is over. It had also some perks though
The Ending to that special with Garrison was a warning, and thankfully America heeded it. This video was awesome
