Hi 👋 Oh Steph what a lovely trip in your Morrie Minor dear. And to Brighton as well. Down by the sea , oh i do love to be by the seaside. No mods and rockers fighting it out like they did back in 1964 .
Well the last time I went to the London to Brighton run was 1974! It was the Commercial run and the Dad's Army cast were there. I still have a somewhat blurred photo of me standing next to 'Jones Butchers' van. Looking at the structure now it is such a shame to see it in that state but hopefully it will be restored soon. Just as a side note, in the winter the sea often over tops that road and the structure used to be painted regularly. Anyway I enjoyed your trip which was something different to the usual shows and reviews. So glad Nancy made it all the way without any major issues. Thank you Steph for staying awake even if it was quite hot and for bringing us this video. 👍👍
Ohhh,London ,nice place for living, and beautiful car the Minor, all cars go to heaven,we have had a model 1963 with his tipical engine 1500 cc in Buenos Aires Argentina, nice cars made by Siam ditella Argentina, with his royalty from the British Car corporation, regards all from Pilar Buenos Aires Argentina
Brilliant video - loved it! I suspect you felt the heat more suffering as you were from a lack of sleep from the night before. I appreciate your ‘carrying on’ spirit, all to bring a great event to your RUclips viewers. Thank you.
The last car I had which I sold in 2012 ( before getting the Daf 44 earlier this year!) was my lovely 1991 Trans Am GTA. And I RAISED the ride height by about an inch or so. "Why would you do this?!" I hear many cry! Well, I actually preferred the slightly higher stance, but more relevant to this video was... I live in London! Speed humps and potholes! It was just more practical and comfortable! The road condition is also why I have adventure tires on my 125 Superdream :D :D
There used to be a great pub in Chiddingstone. In the 1970's we used to drive out from Chatham in my 1953 late Phase 1 Standard Vanguard or my mate's PA Cresta.
Looking at this makes me sad that I will never be able to drive (for medical reasons), otherwise I would love to be getting out and about more and indulging in my love of classic cars.
Hi Steph, I enjoyed the video. Nice to have a little ride in your Morris Minor, brought back a few memories when I was a kid going for a ride one. A lot of nice vehicles there to look at, the ones that stood out for me were the Ford Escorts and a couple Ford Capri’s in there. Not very many of either around in NZ these days.
I'm a keen cyclist, but cycling in Britain is dangerous not only because of the potholes, but also because of inconsiderate (white van) drivers, the ridiculous speed limits on some country roads and the lack of cycle paths.
As always, Steph, you look fantastic. Coming from a family of "hop in the car and go" people, I certainly understand the get home, nap, and go again! That run looks like so much fun. I take it this is a separate run from the Brass Era London to Brighton Rallye. That looks a riot as well. They even made a movie about that, called Genevieve. I'm so glad Nancy decided to behave. The last British car we had would certainly not have cooperated, I'm sure. Ma's 58 Vauxhall Velox was very reliable. You could rely on getting there OR getting home, but not both. LoL. I cannot wait to see what your next adventure is going to be! I have a feeling, too, that we may yet see some of these incredible cars on the channel. Just a guess. Some of them I recognized, but a great many of the older cars were not marques or models with which I am at all familiar. I'm listening to you talk about the heat and wishing I were there. This has been a cool summer. Only a couple of days around the 30 mark. I've not even put shorts on this year. I think I have used the air conditioning in little Yoda 4 or 5 times, mainly on damp days to keep the windows clear. Hopefully Yoda will be doing a Toronto, Ontario, Canada to San Ignacio, Belize run in the next couple of years. About 3,500 miles. That will put Toyota reliability to the test!
2 great British iconic cars. A Moggie and a Jaaag. I own 2 classics a Bentley T1 and a XJ8. My every day car is a Lexus Gs300 1999, 25 years old. Can I say that is a classic due to its age.
Loved THIS!! ... From the relaxing drive down through the Pot-Hole-Ridden Roads - To the Car-Walk at the end - Such a shame you had to push on a bit there - But still good anyway 😎
Just a suggestion but it would have been interesting to tell us what route you took, the villages you went through and the castle looking place you stopped at.
25 degrees Celsius eh, Steph? That's often the overnight minimum temperature here in Cagayan de Oro City Mindanao Philippines. Sometimes it gets down as low as 23 or 24 degrees. Most days year round it's 30+. Fortunately, though I have experienced 37 and 38 here, it's rare. I lived the first 60 years of my life in Australia, and have experienced 45, 46, and 47 degrees Celsius. I'm 12 years older than your Morrie. Apart from the "heat", it looked like a pleasant trip. Such a wide variety of cars there too. I'm pretty sure that Brighton and Hove Albion FC have started the EPL season with two wins from two matches.
Your moans were very valid so no need to apologise for them. That looked like a fantastic day out but I do agree about the price of hiring Madeira Drive, I did not know that and if I were closer to Brighton I'd consider the £100 but I live further north than you Steph so that'll be a no from me.
Looks like a lovely run, something for me to aim for in the future possibly 🤔 You’re right about a lot of the cycle riders Steph. A pet hate is when they ride three, four or five abreast in a group on roads, like a sh1t Tour de France peloton…… 🙄😡
Looks like a wonderful day out! We used to do the L2B Mini Run, held every May, until it was stopped last year due to London ULEZ and Brighton Council's redesign of Madeira Drive. Hopefully it can return someday, starting from Brooklands like you did.. B.t.w, how old does a car have to be to join this run please?
Love your road trip videos - hope you all managed to get some rest after this journey. Brighton is one of my favorite seaside towns in England so it was nice to see it again in this video. Do they still do the London to Brighton run in the pre-1914 cars or has that now been open to newer cars?
I detest the weekend lycra tour de France wannabees who feel the whole road belongs to them ruining any nice b road drives. Living in Glasgow which has the worst roads in the UK i dread our 8 months of darkness as you just constantly stress not seeing the countless bomb craters that you just smash through.
Lovely drive, in a lovely classic motorcar, with a lovely classy lady ❤
It was a grand day out indeed, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It's lovely to see an aspect of my 40 that I don't usually see!
Haha yes, I bet you’ve not followed it before!
Hi Steph .I love your old Morrie .My sister had a 1949 low light model years ago

Great video. I'm also in awe of how many miles you put on your Minor

It is always a great day out, and it was lovely to see you wandering along and filming. I nearly came to say hello but you looked busy
I would recommend anyone try the London to Brighton run. We did it with the Smart Club 20 years ago and it was truly a special day
Hi Steph, lovely video. Thank you.
Really Great Video Steph . Love your Minor .👍👍👍👍
That looks great fun. Id love to go on that. Thanks for introducing us to it.
nice one Steph
Not often you see a Stalwart at the side of the road! ;-)

It really is!

Loving the video and your outlook on life. I am a new subscriber to your channel and loving it. thank you
Thanks for coming on board lovely! Xx

Amazing content as usual Steph.
Really felt for you both, you looked absolutely destroyed.
Hahahah. We both felt it enormously. By the end of the day we were just sitting in silence in a cafe eating pasta 😂😂
Things you have to go through to produce content for us lot lying in bed watching 😢😂
The standard of cycling is abysmal. Going through red traffic lights is my bug bear.
And there it is, the classic, predictable "oh but cars" response to any criticism of the saintly cyclists.

Another great vid Steph. Ever thought of doing the Kop Hill climb?

Wise words Steff, get out and enjoy your self.
Gorgeous

Oh the three abreast thing does my head in! If they went at the same speed as the cars I wouldn’t mind

U r fully restored this vechile
3:22 Alvis Stalwart
At 10:56 is that an Armstrong Siddeley Hurricane on the right?
You Should have called Nancy Genevieve for this episode x
Cyclists are more vulnerable to the potholes - they can put you in hospital - so maintaining lane discipline can be very challenging
Stay off the roads then for everyone's sake.
It can, but when I can see a pothole free road ahead and people weaving about and gently drifting out, it doesn’t half put you on edge.
@noseyparker6622 I have as much right, when cycling, to use the roads as anyone else. It's underfunded councils that have caused the issue, not me.
Everyone needs to use the roads responsibly to minimise accidents..
@@James-ld2jc Nosey Parker is undoubtedly talking about him or herself, with such an attitude. I don't feel addressed
I always look up when visiting new places as I find the top half of buildings are sometimes very beautiful and different. £100 I think is a bargain !
What was the trip to the NL about…. 🤔
Cyclists!!!! Law needs changing to make them accountable for actions
Steph.... have you got a twelve volt outlet in your minor? If so buy a dash board fan...
U love ur MM’s Steph. Up and down the box driving the Huddersfield Pennine terrain!!
😝😝😝👍👍👍
Cyclists they are a bit of a nuisance but they do deserve to share the road and they are out there
I detest the weekend lycra tour de France wannabees who feel the whole road belongs to them ruining any nice b road drives. Living in Glasgow which has the worst roads in the UK i dread our 8 months of darkness as you just constantly stress not seeing the countless bomb craters that you just smash through.
Yeah the pot holes are bloody miserable.
To be fair, it’s not the cyclists fault that you have narrow shitty roads 🤷🏼♂️
MORRIS MINOR THE UGLIEST CAR EVER MADE!!
Thank you hun for your insight x
You must be on the wrong channel.
