Very nice trip documentation. I really enjoyed seeing all the rapids (portaged or run). Each was interesting in it's own way. Great view from the bow paddlers head mounted Gopro of all the issues faced in those rapids. Looked like you guys had a great trip.
I enjoyed your trip video! Nice that you labelled the rapids - we are thinking of this route and that will help with our planning. Interesting to see the re-growth on part of the river
@@The.Terra.Incognita Thanks for the reply! We are now officially doing the route in a few weeks - very excited. What time of year did you guys do your trip? You made a few comments throughout the video trying to speculate on relative water level. What do you think was the water level at during your trip? Trying to figure out what to expect when we do it early August.
@@madformaplethat’s great to hear! We did the river around this time last year - maybe first two weeks of August. Levels were at 29.3m and discharge was 33 m3/s. The river is generally pretty deep and is a pool and drop river. Even at the relatively low levels we experienced ca good proportion of the rapids were runnable…character of them changes a lot of course. Have a fantastic trip!
Great video! My son and I are going moose hunting this fall and are thinking about traveling upstream the Bloodvein. Where does the burn area begin? I’m thinking the new growth will be attractive to the twig eater.
@@blainereimer1323 thanks for your message! Burns affected much of the river in recent years. If you’re travelling upriver from the Bloodvein River bridge I think you’ll find some substantive burns as close as namay falls (maybe sooner).
Fine piece of work. Loved it.
Great video! It was my dream to get on this journey but my dream never come trough. Thanks for sharing your story !
Thanks for your kind words! Hope you get a chance to get out there!
What a trip! Nice work on the filming, narration, and editing too. Thanks for taking us along. :)
Thanks for the kind words! Happy trails to you! :)

Great film, we are hoping to paddle the river in the summer so this is really useful. Thanks Mike
Thanks so much Mike! Wishing you a great journey on the river!

Nice trip. I appreciate you showing some of the portages. We’ve been contemplating this trip, but mostly flat water paddlers.
Nice Job Buddy!
Super, welll done!

Fabulous. Can I ask how much the flight cost from Red L to Artey L?
Thanks Michael! It was about $2,600, as I recall. Goldseekers Outfitting managed the flight on our behalf through Superior Airways.
