      From point of projection to rest position,
      Time t = u/a = 20/10 = 2 seconds
      Displacement S = at²/2 = 20m
      From rest position to hitting wall, this can be thought as the motion of a ball dropped from a height 'H'. So
      Time of flight = √(2H/g)
      Here time to reach the wall is given by T = √(2S/a)
      S = 100 + 20 = 120m
      a = 10m/s²
      T = √(2×120)/10 = √24 = 2√6
      Total time = t + T
      = 2 + 2√6

    Sir,regarding the distance vs displacement question at 28:20 :
    If we carefully use sign convention, we realise that at the instant when bolt hits elevator its v is in upward direction.Which means that the bolt won't even get enough time to reach topmost point of its trajectory and then fall from there because the elevator will hit it before it reaches the topmost point.
    IN SIMPLE TERMS,IN THIS CASE DISPLACEMENT & DISTANCE WOULD BE EQUAL.
    Point to be noted : If the length of elevator were sufficiently larger than 2m,say something like 10m,bolt would have got chance to reach its topmost point and then fall from there. In that case displacement & distance would have been different.
    This idea calls for an important question : Find the length of elevator for which its bottom would hit the bolt exactly at the instant when it is at the topmost point of its trajectory??
    This boundary length,according to me,would be 6m.

    24:22 solving this question using relative motion gives the answer of 4√3 acceleration of bolt is 12 initial velocity is 0 and the distance it have to travel is 2m using formula v=√2as. If someone know where i went wrong pls explain

      Sir has taken the time from release of the ball till v=0 as t1 and t2 as time taken by the ball to reach the wall after the release i.e.
      you can think like,
      t1 + time taken by ball from v=0 to reach the wall=t2
      So, we need to remove t1 from
      t2 to find the time of taken by ball to cover 120 m from v=0

      since, in time t2(i.e. total time), t1 was also included i.e. time taken by ball till the point where its velocity became 0. Now, when we remove t1 from t2, in new time t2` ball will reach the wall from the point v=0 which means, in time t2` we have displacement of only 120m
      Therefore, on solving,
      t2`= t2 - t1 =√2as
      we get t2-t1 =√24
      and on adding t1 both sides
      t2=t1+√24 => 2+√24=> this is total time.
