- Sometimes I forget after years of riding how something so simple to me like taking it easy on new tires might not be common sense. Thinking about doing some beginner tip videos as well bc I've been getting a lot of DM's/Comments asking advice about things like this. Let me know what you guys n gals think! =)

If you guys don’t follow me on IG I just posted a poll for a keychain I’m designing, head over to check it out! Should be available in the next couple weeks! 😁👍🏻
whats the name of the song you use to end the video?
Jonathan Williams 300 violin orchestra 👍🏻
@@SALTxTHExWOUND Thanks man, u just got a new subscriber.
Jonathan Williams you got it bro, thanks for watching 👊🏻
@@SALTxTHExWOUND the fuel gauge on this , is it just a light that flashes up when fuel is low or a bar chart? Also how many miles do you have when fuel light shows up
Doing figure 8s at low speeds in a parking lot will scrub in the tires for you, too. Just do it a few times and then take it easy on the roads for the first couple dozen miles.
There are 2 ways to break in new tires....the right way, and the fast way
Lali you mean 3 ways! #3 put it on the stands and take sandpaper to the tire and get rid of all chicken strips so you get extra cool points with all the cool kids 😎😜🤣
@@SALTxTHExWOUND I guess there are 3 ways
I lowsided yesterday trying to do a sharp u turn on a new rear. Bike is fine just cosmetic damage. But my knee hurts and now I can't ride. 🤦🏿♂️Good thing I had the old tire around me.
As a noob I hate new tires it’s scary af
I put a set of road 5s on my bike after 2 sets of angel GTs, really like the Michelins better, they ride better and are wearing way better. Will definitely stick with these.
Very true. My buddy low sided leaving the dealership parking lot with brand new tires on his R6
Sully ohhh no! Hope he was ok
@@SALTxTHExWOUND oh yeah, more embarrassing than anything else
Good advice, SALT! The same holds true for car tires, but with four you don’t notice it. Back in the day, if slipped some new skins on my hot rod, the first trip was to a desolate street to light ‘em up! 😆 L8R 💕☮️🙏
Chuck Mastin haha indeed! Definitely less noticeable in a car though 👍🏻
You were absolutely correct about the 5's! Thanks for the advice bro👍
Mac 215 glad you’re enjoying them brother! 👊🏻
I know that the video came out a year ago but good video dude, same exact thing happened to me today what happened to you coming out of the dealership.
I just got some new tyres on the bike, as I was wheeling it round the guy said go really easy on those tyres to which I said "yeah dont worry mate I will"
Bastard thing nearly slipped out under me, combination of some gravel and the new tyres. Lesson learnt! Ha ha
so my question is this? 100 miles on the sidewall as well? I wanna know if it takes me 100 miles leaned left and right before its completely broken in. most people aren't leaning at all hardly for the first 100 miles. but how is the tire broken in under full lean?
Do low speed turns in a big parking lot.
Good Tutorial. Watched several motorcycle parking lot accidents. I always warm my tires too.
I def needed this Video Bro...I just bought a brand new rear tire!
I just got a new set of bridgestone battlax s21's yesterday. I think I'm 15-20 miles in lol.
HFR83 that’s a great feeling man, new Tires make a night and day difference 🙌🏻
How do you like them? Just got a set of the s20 evo for $70 new. Put em on last night but gotta get them balanced first
Just got new tires and power wheelied a 600 lb bike immediately 🤣🤣🤣 woops should probly take it easier but surprisingly they didnt slip at all
Burnout 😁
hahaha that's one way to do it xD
Yeah. Just the rear tire.
Damn! I’ve got a Yama V-Star 1100 which is due for tires soon. I live on a freeway frontage road, and I’m glad you posted this. Looks like I’m gonna be pissing off the cagers for the first 1/4 mile until I can hit the backroads to work!
You'll be fine, just take it easy of acceleration and braking :)
Looks like ill be going for a good ride once i get new tires on my bike to scrub them. Im told about 100 kms should do it. I dont know what that is in miles
It’s about 60 miles which is about right 👍🏻
Bro what products do you use to clean your bike? Carbon fiber? Rims? Engine?
Great video!!!
Caitlin West thank you Caitlin! 😁
I road my brand new road 5s in the rain with zero miles on them. By far the best tire I owned.
150 miles is a stretch to be fair... 100 is way more enough. And when you do the 100 miles you still haven't got the crap off the chicken strips so now what? Another 100 on them?
Lol I think you're overthinking it, the first 100-150 miles is to the get the initial coating off on the MAIN part of the tire you use, as you gradually lean more it will start taking it off the side wall. You have more contact patch in your average riding space of your tire. I say better safe than sorry, usually shoot for 100 miles but still won't push it until after 150.
Road 5 is awesome tire. There isn’t much break in for tires now days. Now like 10 years ago they required break in to scuff it up,
But I do the same I try to take it easy for about 100 miles
PUNISHER865 to a degree, they still recommend you break them in. Better safe than sorry right bro 😬👍🏻
SALTxTHExWOUND
Yea brother always better to be safe! I’ve had my fair share of wrecks so I’m not pushing my luck!
Good video! Very true!
SickofOhio thank you 😊
Ayyy is it good to fill up my tires with nitrogen instead of regular air???
Good advice!
dropped my bike yesterday new tires good thing i had frame sliders
Nice!!
I just got new tires on my motor scooter. Thanks
Modern tires like the road4 or road5 require zero break-in. My road5 was flawless from the first mile in low temperatures....
Szlejer I will admit my road 5 did feel very dry like it didn’t need breaking in but I feel like better safe than sorry, I’d hate to wreck my bike just bc I wasn’t willing to wait 100 miles 😬👍🏻
Do slicks need to be scrubbed in like street tires?
❤️❤️
💙💙💙
True 👍
Test ride the new BMW S1000rr.....
Carburetor Boy I would love to if given the chance! 😬👍🏻

Or if you're really impatient just do some burnouts
theone2be33 that’s one way to do it haha
How many times can you, like, say like, like I don’t think you, like, said like enough. Like.
Did you like.?
@@waderobinson2416 ok. That is too funny!
100-200 miles? Are u insane?
Try the first 10 miles
