  • Sometimes I forget after years of riding how something so simple to me like taking it easy on new tires might not be common sense. Thinking about doing some beginner tip videos as well bc I've been getting a lot of DM's/Comments asking advice about things like this. Let me know what you guys n gals think! =)

    Doing figure 8s at low speeds in a parking lot will scrub in the tires for you, too. Just do it a few times and then take it easy on the roads for the first couple dozen miles.

    Good advice, SALT! The same holds true for car tires, but with four you don’t notice it. Back in the day, if slipped some new skins on my hot rod, the first trip was to a desolate street to light ‘em up! 😆 L8R 💕☮️🙏

    I know that the video came out a year ago but good video dude, same exact thing happened to me today what happened to you coming out of the dealership.
    I just got some new tyres on the bike, as I was wheeling it round the guy said go really easy on those tyres to which I said "yeah dont worry mate I will"
    Bastard thing nearly slipped out under me, combination of some gravel and the new tyres. Lesson learnt! Ha ha

    so my question is this? 100 miles on the sidewall as well? I wanna know if it takes me 100 miles leaned left and right before its completely broken in. most people aren't leaning at all hardly for the first 100 miles. but how is the tire broken in under full lean?

  • @Paul-vl8zq
    @Paul-vl8zq 5 лет назад +2

    150 miles is a stretch to be fair... 100 is way more enough. And when you do the 100 miles you still haven't got the crap off the chicken strips so now what? Another 100 on them?

    • @SALTxTHExWOUND
      @SALTxTHExWOUND  5 лет назад +2

      Lol I think you're overthinking it, the first 100-150 miles is to the get the initial coating off on the MAIN part of the tire you use, as you gradually lean more it will start taking it off the side wall. You have more contact patch in your average riding space of your tire. I say better safe than sorry, usually shoot for 100 miles but still won't push it until after 150.

  • @Punisher865
    @Punisher865 5 лет назад

    Road 5 is awesome tire. There isn’t much break in for tires now days. Now like 10 years ago they required break in to scuff it up,
    But I do the same I try to take it easy for about 100 miles

    • @SALTxTHExWOUND
