It's not so much the fact that abject morons inhabit the world (they'll do that either way, and chances are they'll be more scared to annoy you if you're a supervillain). The real problem is that some forms of power -- the political kind, chiefly -- require us to _pander_ to the morons, which is of course intolerable.

To be in the running for someone I will even want to talk to (much less my best friend) you have to be willing and able to listen to me talk about the things I'm interested in. I have to constantly hold back from talking about what I'm currently fascinated with (and therefore immersed in).

INTJ are more expressive WHEN the topic is fascinating, and are blunt when it suits the requirements but can be bad at times at communicating it out without showing signs of controlling things. All these other satires on what an INTJ is and other INTJ, or those who think they are, try to express, shows why INTJ's the most strict group. Everyone wants to be the rare personality type until they're put to the fire. INTJs want control, yes, but this also means control of the perception of what those misunderstand what INTJs are. We INTJs and ISTJs have such sarcastic inner monologues we have to restrain ourselves. There's a reason we don't talk much! I wonder if this is the start of a new series? Would be fun to see more of these for different personalities.
If you wanna see the thoughts of an ENTP... watch any video of a young ENTP. I had no problem saying stuff just like that as a kid. Hence why we are famous for the words "Your too sensitive" or "Can you not take a joke." I am going to show the INTJs in my life that video and encourage this kinda openness even at me. It will make my life much more entertaining.

I once had an INTJ teacher and “please stop talking” is literally what he said out loud to a student and our other teacher had to tell him that you can’t say that 😂
I'm pretty sure he's already being polite; there are a thousand other phrases that he has discarded in his mind in favour of that one. And I'm saying this as someone who's at the border between INTJ and INTP.
My biggest annoyance as an INTJ right now was bread mostly from the pandemic. Facetime and video chatting.....WTF do you need to see my face to talk to me? Just call and leave a message. We were having such a great lockdown until everyone decided we needed to talk AND look at each other at the same time.
Actually, I have trained my mum (without her knowledge) to be able to distinguish between "I am glaring at you because you displease me" and "I am deep in thought or intently listening to you and just happen to be staring". Naturally, I did *not* train her to distinguish between the latter and "I find what you are saying thoroughly uninteresting and am thinking about something totally unrelated". I'm not sure how I would survive if she learned that secret.
As an INFJ, it’s like I have a radar for picking up on that last part - probably because I do it too😅 I just smile more often than an INTJ during those moments (probably bc of my fe wanting the person to feel heard🙃)

My wife is an INTJ, and I love her to death specifically because I get to hear these thoughts often and find them endearing and hilarious. I share in many of them as well. I'm an ISTJ by the way.

As with any pairing, there are trade-offs that each person has to accept. But I share her attraction to planning, procedures, and practicality, and she appreciates my organization and preparation for the worst-case situation. We fit very well together.

OMG! I was recently assigned an assistant at work so drafted a training document of the problem I needed him to design and dev the solution to, alternatives that had to be solved for, decisions to address, etc. Spent a few hours over a few days going over it with side-by-side monitors with the document in 1 and showing him the data and components in the other. Basically walked him verbally through the entire solution, all he had to do was htk the solution. It wasn't difficult, it was just time-consuming and I had higher priority work to do. Scheduled progress checks with specific expectations for him to demo at each check-in. Get to first 1 and he's done nothing because he didn't understand the assignment. Tried to walk through the 'training' but using different words, analogies, and examples. Finally got so frustrated I blurted out I didn't know what else to do or say. I'd used all the ways to explain it and he still didn't understand. So I gave him 2 days to flow chart the design and that actually worked. There were several wrong steps or actions/decisions in the wrong place but it helped to at least get something down on 'paper' so I could see what he did and didn't understand. But geez, I used the whole box of 64 with that guy.
0:40 reminds me of when I worked in IT. Oftentimes people would say such and such a process is easy, and that would confuse me because I thought it was complicated. It took me a while to realize that when people say a process is easy they are thinking of the sunny day scenario when everything goes right. whereas I am concerned with the hundred different ways it could go wrong.
Yes! I also work in IT. But I have always worked in smaller companies where the leadership consists of non-IT people. So in my case the problem is that they don't know what they are talking about at all! But at the same time they always know better and don't want to listen to the actual IT people. They have no understanding of the extreme complexities of IT. To them it's just boxes and cables, and a setup.exe that you click through and that's it. 🤦♂️

However: we keep configuring the printer and no matter how perfectly we set them up the activation server rejects them being added to the pool, the Wifi connection drops after 5 meters and whatever we try, it just won't connect. Other than that, and the fact that you're going to do it all over again tomorrow, you keep having this happy-go-lucky attitude that tomorrow, notwithstanding the evidence before your eyes today, it'll all work out fine. I find myself more and more unable to refrain from sneering at all the people going through the same stuff every day. The truth is that we can't set up stable, safe and secure environments anymore, we have to patch and keep on patching and testing and retesting. One of the fun things about working with a bunch of XXTJs is that the IXTJs are comfortable actually voicing all their pithy commentary with no shame. I have heard all but two of these statements out loud during my time in the military. And yes, INTJs are comedic geniuses. I bring up their past arguments just to hear their devastating comebacks. -ENFP
As an INTJ, a lot of these were incredibly accurate. There are far more instances in which I do not speak, instead of speaking, as I’ve calculated the utility derived from speaking is insufficient to justify the costs. Most of the time, my time is better spent thinking and working, often in quiet, and in solitude. Due to this calculation, when I do speak to others, it tends to be well thought out, and as a consequence the interactions I do have tend to be positive, and I present myself in a way some people find impressive, and others intimidating.
This! If I’ve determined that speaking something out loud is going to cost me in the long run, I’m probably going to choose silence, most. especially if I like you! Unfortunately that silence means sometimes they think you’re mad at them.
Exactly. The problem with that of course is when an INTJ does choose to speak, they tend to be correct. Which leads everyone else to begin treating them like a "smart ass know it all." When the reality is you're far from a know-it-all because when you don't know, you don't speak at all.
As an INTJ, I can confirm all of these were spot on! My favourite though has to be: "Please don't procreate!" Pretty much sums up the after thoughts of most interactions with people nicely! 😂
I'm going to say it: I would LOVE to go out one evening with a female INTJ and have a very long conversation with her. It would need to be understood that she's free to say anything she wants to, to not take offense at anything I say for fear I'm attacking her [I would not be] and I would also make sure she doesn't feel uncomfortable. It would be an entirely safe encounter. I would love to meet a mind like that one time. /Also, I'm old-school, I'll be more than happy to pay for the date so long as there would not be any hangups over the cost of things. Maybe it would work out, maybe it wouldn't. I would enjoy the occasion and it is fervently hoped she would have enjoyed herself as well.
I think I let this paralyse me and I'm not even achieving as much as I thought I would. Then again I am sick, and I keep hurting myself trying to pretend I'm not sick and just be normal. Being sick does not suit my personality.
I'm INTJ and I actually say these things. I say many of them to my boyfriend especially the first one (he's ENFJ). He gets me and I love him dearly. For those who truly understand the INTJ, these remarks will not be rude or foreign to them. This is hilarious

There's something to be said for knowing your audience. Humor is subjective, and if you want people to laugh at your jokes then you'll have to say things they think are funny. I'm guessing you don't care which in that case I wouldn't be surprised that they didn't laugh.
As an INTJ, I feel every one of these. Also, I'd like to add "If you want me to get toothpaste, you need to tell me exactly which brand and type" and "You want me to get 'some' onions? How many is some? I need numbers here." You can't plan with vague instructions.
Spot on. I'll get you anything you want but: BE SPECIFIC! I went for bread, because buying a loaf of bread was asked for. Then I got yelled at because the unspoken understanding was that I had to buy two loaves of bread. I should have known that, you see. They shouldn't have to tell me that, it's obvious they meant two loaves of bread.
These are so spot on for me with a couple of exceptions. I am less annoyed that people don't follow my smart plan, than I am forced to follow other people's dumb plans.
As an INTJ, I can absolutely affirm 100% that interacting with the rest of society is an absolutely exhausting experience. From the second I exit my door in the morning, to the second I return, I can literally feel my energy draining from my brain and soul.

But at the same time the frequency of such thoughts also puts into perspective how much of an outlier a given person is with whom we do NOT have such thoughts and instead have engaging conversations, right? I am lucky enough to have a handful of such individuals as friends and acquaintances, and I cherish each of them accordingly.

It's true, the INTP is smarter and has a better work ethic. Only problem is they are also so silent it feels like I am being manipulative just getting them to voice it. As an INTJ I have to say that I am narcissistically in love with your mind in this video... Because, out of frustration, I really did say some of these punchlines to people's faces when I was younger. I have spent most of my life unaware of the MBTI. And now that I know that, not only there is a label for me, but other people who are able to think like I do actually exist, my whole mental universe has changed. About three years ago, I went from being used to be seen and treated as an anomaly by the outside world to discovering the fact that I am not the only one of my kind... Most people are still wary of me and sometimes hateful for no good reason (like I've seen in many videos about the INTJ's) but as a grown man I don't mind (It was tougher as a kid)... I am not alone and even if I never get to meet other INTJ's it's refreshing to know that those of my kind are out there. Alright, I've said enough words for the year 2023 so i'll stop here... Well, there is the problem of needing a certain population level to maintain technological capability. I'd be fine not advancing, but failing to accomplish mining for ores that result in making modernity possible like pipes for flushing toilets seems like a bad trajectory for humanity. Lack of procreation of non-INTJs would fail to maintain critical mass in a generation. The lost knowledge in the trades would result in a serious struggle to recover.
The “humanity is going to burn” is me. Another one is “we’re all slowly dying as we speak;we don’t know when it’s going to happen but we’re constantly inching closer and closer with each passing second” when discussing death.
I'm married to an ISTJ and my daughter is an INTP. I can see similarities with both of them. Now I'm an ENTJ, and I usually say out loud what you're thinking. It's a miracle I'm married at all.
I'm an ESTJ and think like an INTJ when it comes to school. 1. It surprises me that people go to college with no plan 2. I was one of the smartest people in my class which is not a good sign because I'm not THAT smart. 3. I think a traditional school system is inefficient and homeschooling is a better fit for some people. 4. Kids should be taught to think for themselves in school but they're often not. Occasionally (not very often) my college professors would say things that were clearly wrong and the other students would just take it in without thinking about it.
Totally relatable! ❤ Im an INTJ and I never thought I was extraordinarily smart. I thought I was average and it just frustrated me when others weren't even that. Because "stupidity" leads to problems, and problems lead to suffering. And I hate to suffer. And because I have empathy (believe it or not 😅) and a huge sense of justice, I also don't want other innocent people to suffer for no good reason. So I "hate" stupid people. They seem like egoistic careless sadists to me.
I am loath to use the word narcissism here. Because Narciss was in love with an image (of himself), something that isn't real. But INTJ's have a tendency to be pretty accurate in their assessments - because they are not overmuch hampered by emotions. If they held those high opinions of themselves in spite of being wrong more often than not, then yes, you might be correct. but by all accounts that isn't the case all that often.

I have focused on one thing day and night for 5 days, going through iterative cases for the most probable path to achieve the goal, and I tell the team what to do. They go into question mode and see "issues". Then I realize that I'm going to have to recount details for 2 hours, or maybe I just keep my mouth shut.

I am an INTP, usually chill, but when I am grumpy I have so many of these thoughts….starting to think that maybe I have an INTJ Gremlin living inside of my brain…..as perhaps…do we all…..O-o 🤯 PS: Except tbh when my particular INTJ gremlin manifests itself, it does not leave me sitting there thinking that I am particularly smart, so much as wishing that people were significantly more enthusiastic about using their brains. 😑🚩 Like…I truly believe they could…if they just….tried……
I'd never feel that sure of myself. Absence of self-doubt removes the incentive to keep learning. That's why we're smarter than INTJs and why we'll never make anything of it. We never stop and say "okay, I know all I need to know about this now."
@@JackyVSO Very true….and honestly I think it is quite valuable to maintain a sense of humility when it comes to acknowledging what you don’t know. Side note: For a long time that held me back from feeling I could be that confident in anything, to the degree that it absolutely did keep me from ‘making anything of it’ as you said, but over time I learned that you can cultivate enough confidence in what you *do* know to be productive with it, without sacrificing the reality that you don’t know everything. This may not be true of others, but for me what helped is learning to accept the risk that I might make a mistake or fail since I don’t have all the information…and then moving forward anyway. A degree of self-doubt is always there, but I think of that as being an asset rather than a liability. It helps you to acknowledge mistakes and to be more adaptable when you need to adjust your approach to something. It takes time, but INTP’s (like any type, really) can be quite successful when we learn to overcome our weaknesses.

I think the danger of Te is dismissive arrogance and premature action, whereas Ti has the danger of the person getting trapped in faulty internal logic, without checking for external validity. Ti + cognitive biases -- especially confirmation bias -- can be a very dangerous thing.
The only thing stopping us from being Super Villians is the lack of good costumes and the high rents for extremely large hideouts in metropolitan cities.
I've had thoughts very much like several of these, even in recent days. The line at 0:21 is my favorite, because I often find myself frozen by others' questions while I'm thinking this or something similar in my mind, even today. If you wanna see the thoughts of an ENTP... watch any video of a young ENTP. I had no problem saying stuff just like that as a kid. Hence why we are famous for the words "Your too sensitive" or "Can you not take a joke." I am going to show the INTJs in my life that video and encourage this kinda openness even at me. It will make my life much more entertaining.

My biggest annoyance as an INTJ right now was bread mostly from the pandemic. Facetime and video chatting.....WTF do you need to see my face to talk to me? Just call and leave a message. We were having such a great lockdown until everyone decided we needed to talk AND look at each other at the same time.

Actually, I have trained my mum (without her knowledge) to be able to distinguish between "I am glaring at you because you displease me" and "I am deep in thought or intently listening to you and just happen to be staring". Naturally, I did *not* train her to distinguish between the latter and "I find what you are saying thoroughly uninteresting and am thinking about something totally unrelated". I'm not sure how I would survive if she learned that secret.

As with any pairing, there are trade-offs that each person has to accept. OMG! I was recently assigned an assistant at work so drafted a training document of the problem I needed him to design and dev the solution to, alternatives that had to be solved for, decisions to address, etc. Spent a few hours over a few days going over it with side-by-side monitors with the document in 1 and showing him the data and components in the other. Basically walked him verbally through the entire solution, all he had to do was htk the solution. It wasn't difficult, it was just time-consuming and I had higher priority work to do. Scheduled progress checks with specific expectations for him to demo at each check-in. Get to first 1 and he's done nothing because he didn't understand the assignment. Tried to walk through the 'training' but using different words, analogies, and examples. Finally got so frustrated I blurted out I didn't know what else to do or say. I'd used all the ways to explain it and he still didn't understand. So I gave him 2 days to flow chart the design and that actually worked. There were several wrong steps or actions/decisions in the wrong place but it helped to at least get something down on 'paper' so I could see what he did and didn't understand. But geez, I used the whole box of 64 with that guy.
0:40 reminds me of when I worked in IT. Oftentimes people would say such and such a process is easy, and that would confuse me because I thought it was complicated. It took me a while to realize that when people say a process is easy they are thinking of the sunny day scenario when everything goes right. whereas I am concerned with the hundred different ways it could go wrong.
Yes! I also work in IT. But I have always worked in smaller companies where the leadership consists of non-IT people. So in my case the problem is that they don't know what they are talking about at all! But at the same time they always know better and don't want to listen to the actual IT people. They have no understanding of the extreme complexities of IT. To them it's just boxes and cables, and a setup.exe that you click through and that's it. 🤦♂️

One of the fun things about working with a bunch of XXTJs is that the IXTJs are comfortable actually voicing all their pithy commentary with no shame. I have heard all but two of these statements out loud during my time in the military.

It's like listening to my inner dialogue. I looked at a woman once and said "How do you not drown in the rain?" And then realized I said it out loud.
As an INTJ, a lot of these were incredibly accurate. There are far more instances in which I do not speak, instead of speaking, as I’ve calculated the utility derived from speaking is insufficient to justify the costs. Most of the time, my time is better spent thinking and working, often in quiet, and in solitude.
Due to this calculation, when I do speak to others, it tends to be well thought out, and as a consequence the interactions I do have tend to be positive, and I present myself in a way some people find impressive, and others intimidating.

These are so spot on for me with a couple of exceptions. I am less annoyed that people don't follow my smart plan, than I am forced to follow other people's dumb plans.
As an INTJ, I can absolutely affirm 100% that interacting with the rest of society is an absolutely exhausting experience. From the second I exit my door in the morning, to the second I return, I can literally feel my energy draining from my brain and soul.

As an INTJ I have to say that I am narcissistically in love with your mind in this video... Because, out of frustration, I really did say some of these punchlines to people's faces when I was younger. I have spent most of my life unaware of the MBTI. And now that I know that, not only there is a label for me, but other people who are able to think like I do actually exist, my whole mental universe has changed. About three years ago, I went from being used to be seen and treated as an anomaly by the outside world to discovering the fact that I am not the only one of my kind... Most people are still wary of me and sometimes hateful for no good reason (like I've seen in many videos about the INTJ's) but as a grown man I don't mind (It was tougher as a kid)... I am not alone and even if I never get to meet other INTJ's it's refreshing to know that those of my kind are out there. Alright, I've said enough words for the year 2023 so i'll stop here... Well, there is the problem of needing a certain population level to maintain technological capability. I'd be fine not advancing, but failing to accomplish mining for ores that result in making modernity possible like pipes for flushing toilets seems like a bad trajectory for humanity. Lack of procreation of non-INTJs would fail to maintain critical mass in a generation. The lost knowledge in the trades would result in a serious struggle to recover.
The “humanity is going to burn” is me. Another one is “we’re all slowly dying as we speak;we don’t know when it’s going to happen but we’re constantly inching closer and closer with each passing second” when discussing death.

As an INTJ, I don’t think I spend my time thinking I’m better than others, I just have many theories, and I try to come up with solutions to problems.

I'm an ESTJ and think like an INTJ when it comes to school. 1. It surprises me that people go to college with no plan 2. I was one of the smartest people in my class which is not a good sign because I'm not THAT smart. 3. I think a traditional school system is inefficient and homeschooling is a better fit for some people. 4. Kids should be taught to think for themselves in school but they're often not. Occasionally (not very often) my college professors would say things that were clearly wrong and the other students would just take it in without thinking about it.

Im an INTJ and I never thought I was extraordinarily smart. I thought I was average and it just frustrated me when others weren't even that. Because "stupidity" leads to problems, and problems lead to suffering. And I hate to suffer. And because I have empathy (believe it or not 😅) and a huge sense of justice, I also don't want other innocent people to suffer for no good reason. So I "hate" stupid people. They seem like egoistic careless sadists to me.

I am loath to use the word narcissism here. Because Narciss was in love with an image (of himself), something that isn't real. But INTJ's have a tendency to be pretty accurate in their assessments - because they are not overmuch hampered by emotions. If they held those high opinions of themselves in spite of being wrong more often than not, then yes, you might be correct. but by all accounts that isn't the case all that often.

"why can't people just listen and follow my plans just as I imagined them." I find myself frustrated at this all the friggin time. It's factually true that I produce excellent results. I have focused on one thing day and night for 5 days, going through iterative cases for the most probable path to achieve the goal, and I tell the team what to do. They go into question mode and see "issues". Then I realize that I'm going to have to recount details for 2 hours, or maybe I just keep my mouth shut.
So INTJ's are basically the little voice in my head after I've sat through 8 hours of statistics lectures and lost all hope for myself and humanity - ENTP
How does learning about expected values and wilks' theorem cause that?

I am an INTP, usually chill, but when I am grumpy I have so many of these thoughts….starting to think that maybe I have an INTJ Gremlin living inside of my brain…..as perhaps…do we all…..O-o 🤯
PS: Except tbh when my particular INTJ gremlin manifests itself, it does not leave me sitting there thinking that I am particularly smart, so much as wishing that people were significantly more enthusiastic about using their brains. 😑🚩

I'd never feel that sure of myself. Absence of self-doubt removes the incentive to keep learning. That's why we're smarter than INTJs and why we'll never make anything of it. We never stop and say "okay, I know all I need to know about this now."
@@JackyVSO Very true….and honestly I think it is quite valuable to maintain a sense of humility when it comes to acknowledging what you don’t know.
Side note: For a long time that held me back from feeling I could be that confident in anything, to the degree that it absolutely did keep me from ‘making anything of it’ as you said, but over time I learned that you can cultivate enough confidence in what you *do* know to be productive with it, without sacrificing the reality that you don’t know everything.
This may not be true of others, but for me what helped is learning to accept the risk that I might make a mistake or fail since I don’t have all the information…and then moving forward anyway. A degree of self-doubt is always there, but I think of that as being an asset rather than a liability. It helps you to acknowledge mistakes and to be more adaptable when you need to adjust your approach to something.
It takes time, but INTP’s (like any type, really) can be quite successful when we learn to overcome our weaknesses.
@@JackyVSO This is more of a caricature or exaggeration. I can't speak for all of us, but very often I feel like the dumbest person in the room. Unless that room is full of people watching the Kardashians, then the above in the video applies. If the room were full of INTPs and ISTPs, I might feel like the dumbest person in the room again. Although when my INTP brother went down the conspiracy theory anti-vax rabbit hole.... *all of the above* applies!🤦♂

I think the danger of Te is dismissive arrogance and premature action, whereas Ti has the danger of the person getting trapped in faulty internal logic, without checking for external validity. Ti + cognitive biases -- especially confirmation bias -- can be a very dangerous thing.
