New Locomotives, Coal, DPUs, lots of new rail and a 6,100 foot long bridge too!

- Here are 3 more from @JawTooth and my trip to Kenova, West Virginia last week.
Train number 1 is a long Eastbound Norfolk Southern loaded coal train on the Kenova Bridge with a rear of train DPU pushing it along.
Train number 2 is a long Eastbound CSX mixed manifest with a large amount of 80 foot long new railroad track loaded on flat cars.
Finally, train number 3 is also a long Eastbound CSX mixed manifest that is being led by 3 locomotives, 2 which are brand spanking new! They look like they just left the locomotive shop in Huntington, West Virginia about 15 miles from Kenova. These guys shine like new money! There is also another long string of flat cars loaded with new rail at the end of this train. Looks like someone somewhere is doing some serious track maintenance!

Kenova is a great place and not a terribly long drive either. Definitely one of my favorite spots to go.

Wow the different sound of wheels on track with heavy rail onboard...The rebuilds are just examples of fine workmanship . Had a dream I was in Grange watching street trains some guy had a big hose in fuel tank syphoning out fuel into his truck ..lol .Threw rocks at signal tower to get workers attention ...next thing was pandamonium in Grange ...chasing syphoner . Way to funny still chuckling wife is like you got to stop watching mr . GAMBIT ...THX scott good dreams !

Great catch! I sure would like to know what that train back to front weighed.
By my calculations if it is 139 pounds per yard rail, then at 80 feet it would be roughly 3,700 pounds per rail. That`s a heavy load on those cars!
