Oh folks out there ... This man came into my live when I was 7 years old in 1969... Someone has left the SUPER BAD 33 RPM LP in my parents house... Since that day I AM FUNK - FUNK IS MY LIVE James Brown is MY GODFATHER Thank you so much KING JAMES
if anyone should ask, when i'm on my deathbed, if i have any regrets, it would be that i never got to see the godfather live in concert before his passing (R.I.P)...i hope when my time comes, James Brown is there to serenade me into that higher plane of consciousness....cos like the man says...its all love! :)))
@PaulDA2000 To me that is just oe of many examples of james brown's personality in life and music..Unpredictable, being at times erratic and at others beig logical and structured.I think that blend is hard to find in many solo male performers in music. It is why i can never take my eyes of james brown o a stage. You just ever know what he will do
This is great quality! I wish his official live studio albums sounded anywhere near this good! It sounds as if you are at the concert! But why did you start 'Make It Funky' in the middle and not with the great introduction?
It's so weird, when Mr. Brown was 'on' he played an inspired oprgan, without any formal training. Here, live, he is 'on', but on his 1999 album 'I'm Back' playing this song his organ playing wasn't good at all, and that was in a studio where things could be tweeked or even recut!
How come, whether you like him from any particular era, none of his officially released live albums sound anywhere as 'live' as this concert? Why did they always fool around with the mixes until they didn't sound anything like they did live?
NO ONE WILL BE LIKE JAMES BROWN
High class supermusicians. Delightful. Thanks.
Ageless. Just the most stunning performer.

What is the name of the guy in the white suit?
Was it his last concert (2004)??? I remember that he died on 2006...
Kelly Jarrell at :04, far left!
He almost died on stage this man. The show must go on, or what do you say? ;)

Rap Godfather! He integrated his band- smart! The younger generation of blacks were wasting their time on rap crap!
