About the fast travel system: I will argue that having to move to a fast travel point to... fast travel can encourage exploration of the world. Cyberpunk 2077, Borderlands, and Remnant are a few but decent examples of this. That said, it also boils down to how engaging the world is. If it feels like a chore to manually travel in a vast sandbox especially if its a bland environment, then the standard system of teleporting to unlocked POIs is great. But then there is the risk of certian parts of a world potentially going unnoticed because players may not bother going out of their way to look. I guess it just depends on overall design of the game and what mechanics and features are in place to keep people exploring and roaming around. BTW, the 1978 remake of Invasion Of The Body Snatchers was apparently rated PG and yet, it has some rather... bold moments especially near the end. If you seen the movie, you'll know what I am talking about. (The clips of the dude pointing and screeching is from that movie for those who don't know). Then again, the MPA (MPAA) was in the process of changing up their system at the time so it probaby wasn't as stringent as it is now.
It's been a while since I've played Cyberpunk 2077 or Borderlands. I think it wasn't as noticeable to me in those since vehicles were a thing and you could cross terrain a lot faster. For something like, say, Xenoblade Chronicles 1-3, this would be a major slog considering how huge those zones could get. And yes, the PG rating system was very different back then. I actually haven't seen the 1978 version of the film, but I have watched the original. Is somewhat coincidental that I used that for a gag and then Sutherland dies only a few weeks later. It's always been on my list to watch though.
This game shouldnt be a reason to create so much controversy, dont like it, don't play it that simple. If the creator want to make a game with a hot character, let them be, to start a drama if the character is too hot or not is absurd, on the other side of the coin I see people complaining that Angela from Silent Hill 2 Remake is not hot enough, she never was on the original, and it looks like you cannot give people what they want and this should be already something normal when developing a game, my idea is: Ignore those people no matter how you do the character, hot or not, you will never satisfy the audience, is always better to follow your heart and do the game however you want, I personally support the freedom to develop whatever you want without fearing people's censorship
More specially it's an issue of "you'll never appeal to the radicals on both sides and keep them happy". I feel like most of us are in the middle on this and just want something fun to play without all the other nonsense surrounding it. Are we going to agree with every little stylistic choice or change? Of course not, but we aren't going to let it ruin the experience for us either.
That's why I find myself fighting the urge to tune things out, but I also realize I need to try and deal with some of these things to provide balance as much as I can.
@@mrpsthoughtsonthings Indeed! I seen your SH2R and SB video and you definitely earned a sub from this. Thank you for providing the balanced views we all need.

Agreed with your points, sadly people will never be satisfied. 🤦🏻♀️
