Eventide's Blackhole is insanely versatile & awesome on so many levels !
I use the reverb built into Studio One and so far I am very impressed by how close it sounds to blackhole.

Blackhole is okay. Much like a paired down Space pedal. I prefer the Valhalla Shimmer though.

This video was funny to watch because I almost only use Blackhole and even more EchoBoy for effects (others than drive, EQ, compression). No Fabfilter ProQ3 tho but I have Ozone Dynamic EQ as alternative.

Cool video, I have 580 VST, most free and they work great if learn to use them.. Valhalla is a bonkers free Reverb.
I've been EQ'ing before the reverb, ie not sending the frequencies into it, but with many reverb's already having the low cut & some the high cut too. wonder if adding another is worth the trouble or CPU use. Audio Things Space Echo seems to be stereo, took a whole to find the extra stuff hidden at the bottom which isn't on the hardware as far as I know

What kind of DAW are you using? Cubase 12 Pro has many different Steinberg FX that are just as good.

arturia has a credible space echo as a plugin. My goto delay nowadays is NI Replika XT, similar to echoboy but much cheaper and you don't need iLock

Tokyo dawn nova is a dynamic EQ & free. It’s really good. Tho it’s no pro Q but it’s very good for what it is

Actually, I cannot think of any better delay/reverb for ambient music than Valhalla delay.
For me, it is better than Echoboy and Black hole combined. And it costs only 50 euros!

A word that makes my shill radar go off: "essential". As an artist, I would never tell another artist that something is "essential" (other than curiosity and hardwork) to create anything. Essential in this context (pushing product) is a word for salesmen.
I don't disagree, however it's not necessarily the case. In addition, it's these kind of titles that make people click on a thumbnail and actually watch a video. Our own humanity and algorithms in a battle.
