I bought a 14 malibu LTZ new in 13, great car. Drives well, no issues, handles and drives well and the fit and finish is equal to Cadillac. No panel gaps and the doors close like tank doors. Great car.
I recently bought a 2014 Malibu. It is less than a month old and it is already acting up. I took it to a GM dealer today because after the car has been sitting for a while and I shift from P into R or D it makes a CLANK noise from the front end and it can be felt through the floorboard. Then as I accelerate slowly when starting off around 5 MPH the car will sputter and lurch until I accelerate faster, the service tech that rode with me noticed the noise and the sputtering and even commented that he felt and heard them too......the GM dealer had it in their shop for 3 hours only to determine that nothing is wrong it is normal to do that.
1969jmac yeah my 2016 Malibu limited Ltz does it to especially if your foots not down fully on the brake and go in reverse quick it jerks underneath you like the tranny about to fall out and your right mind does it sometimes when I press the accelerator there's like no power for a second or 2 then you got to punch it to get it to go I think there's a delay in th computer program when they added that start stop shit
I figured out the issue guys, Had a pressure test done for a possible coolant leak. At which point you should stumble on the leak located underneath the vehicle and also remember the rubber hosing in the engine bay. Once you located both symptoms remember to completely drain the coolant system in order to restore balance in your cooling system. FYI, REMEMBER to check the coolant again within the first 48 hours, you may need to add more. 1 last thing, letting your car sit and run may actually be causing some weird cooling issue, in some way, you may end up always feeling some feedback, just depends on how long you let your car run without moving. To those who have been looking for a solution, it took me several months to finally figure it out....hope this helps
Do you think putting it in the manual mode when you come to a stop will damage your transmission? That does stop the auto stop feature from coming on, at least in the 2015. Anyone have any thoughts?
with gm , its opel or daewoo , besides the trucks. and now - looks like they may be in trouble for many past misdeeds , involving ignition switches and deaths . hiding behind the recent bankruptcy

I have a 2014 Malibu. Transmission went out at 96k and was replaced under warranty.
So far it’s been a great transmission.

Manual mode doesn't harm your transmission. They would not give customers a setting which would harm the car, they are smarter than that ;)
Could have done without the music.
How is the AC still running when the engine is off, isn't the compressor belt driven?
only the fan runs, compressor is off, but engine will turn back on when cabin temperature goes above your set temperature.
That hat and goatee looks really cute on dude, got me licking my lips.
I'm considering one of these, but only because GM offers my company a discount. I'd prefer a Ford Fusion.
Opel Insignia's sister :-)

What up with you
this cars better than a shit type 2012 ford fusion it sucked Radio and heat was all over the place the Malibu is smoother and easier too use
No more nice exhaust tips because environmentally friendly BS!
Screw Al Gore I want a good looking exhaust tip that sounds good to..
Malibu 2013 better than 2014 because 2013 hand brake electronic the best same impala 2014
but malibu 2014 manual hand brake ??????
+Mousa Electronic hand brake tends to break more often since they use a motor to engage the brake.. I'd Much rather have it manual..#2014
