    One of my favourite Mozart symphonies, bubbling with musical ideas, as Mozart said the people of Prague were more sophisticated than the Viennese .

    Looking at what else Mozart completed in November and December 1786....You kidding me? He was, as Salieri said in the movie.. Beyond belief. "Other works written by Mozart roughly contemporary with this symphony include the Piano Trio in B♭, K. 502 (completed November 18, 1786), the Piano Concerto No. 25, K. 503 (completed December 4, 1786), and scena and rondò Ch'io mi scordi di te?, K. 505, for soprano and orchestra (completed December 26, 1786)."

      In one month, he completed a Piano trio, a Symhony, a Piano Concerto, and a piece for soprano..... it would have taken several years to any other composer.

    9:03 it's pretty Sturm und Drang but the light orchestration gives it such an aerial feeling I love it, and the music thus has a lot of ¿inertia? if that makes sense, like a breeze, as strong as it gets it's still aerial and light but cannt stopped, like at 10:55, same feeling

      Beethoven's 1st symphony was inspired from Haydn's symphony no 103 which was premiered in the year 1795, the same year year beethoven started making sketches for his first symphony.

      Das Sir while it's true Bach is the absolute master of counterpoint and Mozart learned much from studying his works, but mass in b minor has a really sublime Kyrie intro and then follows one and half hour of long winded counterpoint, which makes me wonder Bach was really a great composer or just a great mathematician.. (I hate to say it, honestly it's boring) It's not that I dislike Bach. I really enjoy his well tempered clavier and chromatic fantasy, but all the Bach fanatics who worship the complexities of the b minor mass and downplay Mozart (and Beethoven) leads me to believe Mozart's comparatively concise and effective use of counterpoint (such as the ending of jupiter symphony or organ fantasia in f minor) is often overlooked.

    • @minemilx2702
      @minemilx2702 6 лет назад +5

      I think Mozart used counterpoint more as a way to get a message across and to obtain a certain emotional effect rather than to just show that he knew complex counterpoint. The fact that he used it more sparsely but just as well gave it more impact when he did use it and as a result Mozart's music is less boring.
