Totally works. I used the charging port of a vape (electronic cigarrette), connected it to a 3.7v battery, added a switch then a piece of nichrome wire from a heater. When turned on, it glows red hot and I use this to draw on wood and leather(By burning it). It can be easily modded into a soldering iron.
I turned a vape into little flashlights before, and I turned a vape into a coffee, milk, frother My aunts frother broke so I took the little spinning piece off and took a little DC motor, fit it inside the vape added a button and you hold it down into the milk. It spins and makes the milk frothy, and it was from her favorite type of Vape that she discovered while visiting me in Miami so now when she went back home, she has a souvenir vape that recharges and froths her milk for her cappuccinos 😂 Now I did have to find a pen for writing with in order to get the little metal piece off the tip where the tip comes out and mounted it to the vape mouthpiece so that it holds the little spinning piece in place properly. A lot of little fabrication, but it was really fun. What I have here now given to me is a $200 hair volumizer that heats up to 450°. And two heating hairbrushs.. Now I am wondering how I’m going to fabricate them into a soldering iron or something else. 😈🤣 The ladies in my life know that I love these things and they offer me their devices when they don’t want them anymore . I can’t be trusted with these things.😁

@@ВиталикИванов-с4с всё прекрасно работает,я уже три штуки сделал), я параллельно соединил 4 акума из под сигарет и вуаля,разряжаются до 3.65 и всё можно заряжать,а то что ты там чудишь с аккумулятороми так это твои проблемы)
Its a really nice prototype however DO NOT BUILD THIS EXACT THING, it has no protection circuit, just add a tp4056 and it will be 10 times better, even with a port to charge it

@@furik261 я еще ничего не чудил. только собираюсь)) просто смущает то, что аккумы без защиты и т.д.
Необходим установить защиту от полного разряда или пользоваться акк-мом с защитой.

How long battery life
I’ve done many soldering irons fron scrap but none hold more than 1 hour. Better use istick cigarrete electronic module to make it better. More power

Replace the wiring in your soldering iron to decrease the resistance to half and you will have double the current outputted, 60w.
