Absolutely. Even nursing schools used to be run by the hospitals. Unfortunately they are do not have them anymore. I have been a nurse forever. The nurses who were trained in the hospitals were incredible. Yes, you do need some basis, but a lot of the crap they teach you in nursing school, you will never need to know.

Based on my experiences I do not think that college is a scam. You go to college to get a degree so you can be able to make more money. I see it all the time, people with college degrees usually get the best positions and make more money. How is it a scam then?
@@cecarblanco9933 Yes if you are actually getting a degree in something useful, Dr. Nurse, Lawyer, Engineer, etc....But the garbage so many are getting a degree in does not do anything to help...Use to it did, use to it at least told employers someone was willing to stick with something and do the work for at least 4 years to "finish something"....NOW, many employers pretty much look at the "college" where the applicant graduated and depending on how liberal it is, just go to the next person. If that degree is not directly necessary for that position, most companies will train the employee how "They" want something done anyway...on the job training. Companies have no desire to hire someone who will likely find something to sue you for. Now you have to purchase (not cheap) EPLI insurance (Employment practices liability insurance) based on every single person we employ because people will sue you over ANYTHING (I am not saying all college graduates will do that, nor am I saying they are the only ones doing it, but it has become so prevalent EPLI insurance is required). Companies no longer have the luxury to deal with that kind of "employee".

I saved for my kids college education. I raised them conservative. They decided to go to trade schools instead. I paid for them to go. They now are 23 and 25 with great jobs, no college debt and are very happy. As a parent I'm happy to say that they will do better than I did, and I did well. Best part for me was windfall retirement money that we weren't counting on. If you don't have to go to college don't. My kids would run rings around these college kids. My kids would spot his condescension and immediately know how to make them look like fools. They've taken out people a lot smarter than this kid. Yeah, I'm a proud dad.

I'm 64 started at a University, was told by my mother I had to go to school to get a job... dropped out of University started in a community college for nursing....then worked and went back to University while working. She's not voicing her plan of giving back, only taking for 'free tuition' for her on other people's backs.

Decided to go to trade school instead of college and been a diesel tech for 2 years. I make 60k and it’s only up from here, best decision I’ve ever made.

To bad all the fiat money the US government has printed has lowered the purchasing power of the US dollar 84% in the last 50 years. 60k isn't even middle class in many places anymore.

With the extreme number of universities closing over the past few years, YES, the trades are the best available opportunity for ANY younger, and also older citizen to enter or progress in the workforce.
There are several million jobs available in the trades today, this is not an exaggeration, look it up. Electricians, mechanics, HVAC technicians, plumbers and welders are not only in high demand today, but are becoming some of the highest paying jobs.
This is just beginning. Seek an apprenticeship.....work and get paid while you earn your certification......NO federal tax money required. NO indentured servitude!!

This young woman proved Charlie's point. According to her definition of education...she can get that at a coffee shop by having a conversation with someone for free.
Charlie said it best, "a perfect example of why college is a scam," and there isn't much more to say about it.
The only thing I'd add is that we should pray for her and all who are of a confused mind.
