That's ok, from one drummer to another, this is old news. If it isn't the singer it's the lead guitarist. I was fired from a band because the lead guitarist was jealous I was taking some attention from the audience & it made him angry. After I left the club owner fired him & unfortunately the rest of the guys, (who didn't do anything wrong), while all the other clubs lost a nominal amount of followers. I got into another band fairly quick but word got around about him so he had to go on the other side of the state in order to find work. Swing away Bro, that singer ain't nothing without you.

I think he was doing a great job….. but it doesn’t matter if I do. It isn’t a “play as you may” thing. It is a Choir, and the Choir Director “Directs”. The Choir meets, AND PRACTICES…. and they do the songs according to how the Director has “Directed” them to…. at least in theory. They spend a lot of time practicing. The drummer might not be the regular drummer, or he may have just started playing with them…. or he might have just forgotten what he was supposed to do… or he just wanted to do his thing, because he just doesn’t take it seriously. 🤷🏻♂️😜 I was enjoying his playing. He apparently was just drumming far differently than the Choir Director wanted him to!! 🙄🤗 I think it was a Service, or something else…. or else I think the Choir Director would have stopped everyone, and told him what he was doing wrong, and restarted the song again. I think it is Powerful what they are singing, though I can’t make it all out, especially the Women. Love it though!! 🙌❤️🙌❤️🤗❤️☝️

as a catholic use to people singing in monotone and just looking like they can't wait to sneak out after communion the first time I went to a black church was crazy. I walked in and was like, "hey, they got a drum kit on stage! and guitars and amps! and lights!" and when the music started everyone erupted into singing and dancing. everyone was having the time of their lives. everyone was excited to be there. I had fun, I must admit, even though it was a complete culture shock to me at the time.

@@carsondrum sure. Tyne difference is this. Ours are saved and filled with the Holy Ghost and understands the moving of God's Spirit. Not only that, we raise our own musicians up and they are tought to be submitted to leadership, especially when it's reasonably. They don't play strictly for money and aren't full of pride and have real jobs as well. They are talented with the anointing and right spirit. That's go's a long way. So I don't worry about that.

I am with the drummer this time. He felt the spirit, it was organic and the choir director was killing the vibe!!! 😂 I wanted to hear the drum solo-- that go-go beat was right in line with choir! Too many times in any type of music, there's a regulator on stage holding back the drummer. These types don't know what most crowds like..... a drummer who can lay it down. Reason regulators exist is because they fear not being center of attention/control and also being upstaged by the drummer.

@@carsondrum sure. Tyne difference is this. Ours are saved and filled with the Holy Ghost and understands the moving of God's Spirit. Not only that, we raise our own musicians up and they are tought to be submitted to leadership, especially when it's reasonably. They don't play strictly for money and aren't full of pride and have real jobs as well. They are talented with the anointing and right spirit. That's go's a long way. So I don't worry about that.

Too many times in any type of music, there's a regulator on stage holding back the drummer. These types don't know what most crowds like..... a drummer who can lay it down. Reason regulators exist is because they fear not being center of attention/control and also being upstaged by the drummer.
