Evan have you looked into a grain wagon and going to a custom mixing plant and buying your feed already mixed for you that way all you do is get a five gallon bucket and a feed trough and let them piggie's eat 🐷

Not for raised beds but you can build a temporary fence around your garden areas and use your pigs as tillers then take your 4 wheeler or garden tractor and an old hog or cattle panel and use it as an harrow may have to put some old tires on it for weight ?

I still think it is funny in the areas where they are growing pot the pot growers and pig farmers have teamed up to feed the plant waste from the pot grows to the pigs as it has the same effects on the pigs of more mellow personalities and gives them increased food consumption.
Its fun when people figure out rather then paying to dispose of things that there are other people that would love it. Bamboo is another example of normally needing to pay to dispose of as no wood lots will take it yet farmers love it to feed to pigs, goats and cattle.

If you soak the feed it will make them gain weight faster because it will break down and build sugar. There will be a lot less waste too because the dusty grain won't fall out of their feeder.

I can sympathize with you in regards to the staining. I do not even have a log home and I hate it. I have a large deck and some arbors and pergulas that need to be stained and it is my least favorite chore around here. The last time I did it, the stain failed in a few months. I could not believe it. We will hopefully get to celebrate our youngest's graduation next year, and I want everything looking nice for that, so the goal is to get that on here in the next few weeks when we get another dry spell. I already pressure washed it and this time, the wife and kids will take point on the actual staining. Thanks for the insight on the pigs. I am thinking, assuming we can sort out a butcher and a date, we are going to try feeder pigs as our next animal on the homestead. Looking forward to it.

Evan, If you could get your food supplies lifted up onto that loft it would ease your work load by being able to pour food downhill so that your not having to lift it up so much.
Also if you feed too generously they will put on a huge amount of fat under the skin. That might be OK for you and Rebecca but in reality it is a waste of food to go much beyond 6lbs per day for each pig. Excessive food will also discourage them from digging and foraging - afterall that is one of your main reasons for keeping them!
I cannot remember if they have any sort of hut/shed available but they will need something as Autumn progresses and the weather gets colder. A simple low hoop shed with cladding down to the soil on three sides and set facing so that the entrance is directly opposite to the prevailing wind with some dry bedding would be fine. Otherwise they will be eating to keep warm rather than grow!
