- A show off of my custom RC Nitro Super Car/ test drive. If you turn your volume up you can hear the Turbo. I put a real turbo on a RC Nitro Car, made a custom exhaust, and liquid cooled the header of the engine block. This is my prototype nitro vehicle..
Ehhhh welll im not sure of a good way to say this but the compressor side of this is hooked up backwards 😂 kinda like your trying to suck the air away from the carb and blow it through your air filters

He also has a compound turbo setup all backwards as well.. In 6 minute video never put it on the car but was testing it with compressed air backwards lolol. I think it would be a great idea for a nitro if done correctly.. Id like to see 2x nitro motors joined to 1 with a custom intake and stuff all timed up for boost and plumbed up correctly.. Could be a hoot lol

Impressive build here man, the people complaining about not hearing the turbo just don’t know what to listen for.
Collindoesdrifting i guess they expect to hear the valve sound when pressure is released when shifting gears.

Turbo doesn’t work there is no valves there for no way to build pressure on the intake side and the turbo is on wrong also and that shit prolly weighs sooo much just look how slow that at one point zippy car is he’s honestly done nothing but waste his time and and made his car slower and the water cooler is also terribly executed not a bad idea but not required nor well executed
Next time fill that tube up with sand and then bend it. That way it won’t look like a crack head made you exhaust, pro tip of the day right there.

fill with water, bang the ends shut and then bend. even better, if only because its easier to get in there.
Or just use the spring they sell at anyhardware store to bend tubing lool

The turbo is backwards (the cold side) the air filter is is on the output side of the turbo and his carbaretta is on the intake of the turbo

My car was a FTX carnage N/T and it was so shit that it would actually spit flames even tho they aren’t supposed to and the exhaust would always pop then the engine literately fell apart as I was using it 😂😂😂😂 it still is in my draw I might re build it

@@francisbalfour1243 You will probably never get enough pressure from any type of miniature supercharger or turbocharger to induce compressor surge. But it's worth the try, especially when closing the throttle after a rev up.

You need a small tank for boost fuel when you are making boost send pressure to a tank which sends fuel to the intake. It will only use that fuel under boost make sure you can adjust the fuel to it. Might help the lean out
the only way you would see any power gains with a turbo, is with an exhaust system called an “expansion chamber”. since this is a two stroke, any pressurized boost charge entering the combustion chamber via the transfer ports, would escape through the exhaust port, before the piston approaches TDC. The expansion chamber should provide significant port plug, to push the escaping charge back into the combustion chamber

It’s cool, even 4 years later. That’s what rc is about, tinkering in the lab. But couple things. U can tune ur motor to run tank after tank and never get hot, also you would go a whole lot faster doing a weight reduction to the car, rather than adding a extra pound for extremely minimal gains (if any) still cool though

My only problem is without an a power valve for the exhaust you can't build boost take it from someone who builds custom racing 2 strokes which is more or less with that little engine is and without a power valve to shut off the exhaust side to build a boost you're wasting your time all you're doing is just shoving fuel straight out your exhaust pipe and if you want to shoot flames then you doing right just put a little spark plug at the end good to go but you're not building any power weather cooling system is going in the right direction if you can get the temperature down you can add a little bit of extra oil to your fuel I recommend two stroke Castro oil you can lean it out which will bring your temp up but with your cooling system that'll just bring it to normal and you should double your power in theory I might build one to find out.

Yea, the intake side isn’t going into the intake manifold area, it’s just blowing through air filters

It does work with two stroke, just not at this scale you need the big beefy boys for it to work.
It separated him from his money , that's all that was intended ... Will probably at most rob performance from the engine as well...

Turbo on 2 stroke didn't Work.
There are no valves to keep the pressure in the cylinder. Just Blow the pressure trough the exhaust. Nothing Else.

@@ossy3rd to everyone that says 2 stroke forces induction doesnt work, you are right and wrong. turbos work on a 2 stroke because the turbo adds backpressure so the air can compress, but without backpressure it would most llikely not work
Not to be a dick but you've got the outlet of the turbo as air intake and I personally would consider finding a small pump to add more fuel into the engine as once you start building positive boost there is no vacuum to suck the fuel into the carburator and it will lean out but it's cool as hell brother I hope you keep us updated

lol, It looks like a 1/10 scale moonshine still on wheels- a bending spring would useful (or inexpensive silicon tubing from Ebay if your budget stretches that far) if it wasn't a pointless exercise charging a valve less 2 stroke....

I am pretty sure its gonna rob power from the car instead of increase it. You can't just whack a turbo on and expect power without other mods. To gain power you need to add more fuel for the extra air to combust with. That would involve expensive electronics to control fuel flow, as just opening up the needle valve will work but only when the turbo kicks in which means at low rpm it will bog down from excess fuel.
Also I'm skeptical how long it will last without oil flowing to the bearings.

Sorry but that is the slowest nitro engine I’ve ever seen. My old Traxxas rustler 1.5 was faster than that. It sounds like it’s only getting half throttle if that. I think a better upgrade might be simply adjusting your throttle linkage.

Just couldn't wait to smoke...just had to do it while filming. MERICA
You should’ve used smaller copper tubing to fit between the fins on the heat sink. I’ve done this using a copper tube from the front of an old window air conditioning unit. I think it was part of the thermostat. I just added a large pill container and put a small submersible pump inside and filled it with water & ice. It worked but got to be a pain having to refill it after each tank. Basically I wanted to run my engine too lean and keep it from from overheating. Yeah I was a noob. It did run with a lot of power and did keep it from overheating but it probably wasn’t getting sufficient oil. It never ruined the engine but I ended up taking it off because it was too much of a hassle.
@Chad Ray yeah without valves any boost goes right out the exhaust since the intake port gets closed off by the piston before the exhaust port.

2 stroke engines can not be boosted by turbos or superchargers, only by expansion chambers but you can put that little turbo in a nitro 4 stroke engine for sure
2 strokes can be boosted with turbo and has been for decades.

@@Ethan-dc4dy Detroit Diesel and many others, also gasoline engines. And there are turbo engines with expansion chambers. First were built by amateurs in the early eighties, smallest was 125cc. Now there is factory built turbo 2-stroke sleds.
All it will do is lean out if it made any type of boost but cool thing to do anyway

Things probably slower than it was stock with all that extra weight. Also nitro motors don’t see any gains from forced induction

Did you give it full throttle ? i know you don't have much road but slow tho my nitro rc i use to have at short distance and long distance was instant just tune it up find some Mandrel tube bender for rc or some thing . all that i said a side you did a awsome job on what you did your self very cool.

why not just use a damn brushless motor and a fan with an esc set to spool up like a turbo and have it shoot the air into the engine....u could use a mini rc jet engine or something like that....why try to use a turbo when u could create something better and get astronomical gains? use your heads people this is not a real car its a toy so treat it like a toy and ideas will come accordingly.

Needs a dump valve now to vent all the unwanted boost the turbo produces stop it bogging at low rpms and minimise the lag spool up time 🤪
