25:55 Y'all didn't watch "Rue's Special Episode", but the reason that was a sick scene was bc Ali admitted to Rue that his dad used to hit his mom, then one night in his own marriage, he snapped and hit his wife in front of his children and it's been weighing on his conscience ever since & has been trying to make it up to them. That's why she said "Or what, Ali? You gonna hit me?" to twist the knife of his past. She also said "No one's looking to you to be a father" because his kids are basically kept from him bc of his drug issues and that night. Rue was just a trashcan.
and i love the parallels of that. Ali was an asshole to his wife because of drug addiction, just like Rue is being an asshole to Ali because of drug addiction
In Rue’s special episode Ali went into his backstory and we found out he has kids that he’s not close with bc he use to physically abuse their mom when he was high which is why he was so hurt when she threw it back in his face.
“You’re in bed and she’s calling you another guy’s name” “Defeated her” “YOU DEFEATED HER?!” Lmaooo, their conversations be so off topic but fucking hilarious
I honestly don't think they "ruined the characters", they more so showed how grey and unpredictable people can be. You think you know someone, but then you discover a different side that they expose when facing certain circumstances. I've noticed that a lot of young Americans these days have issues with flawed fictional characters (especially ones that go from good to bad). But that's what actually makes a show interesting. This season would not have had extremely high viewerhip if everyone dealt with their shit in an unproblematic manner. That's real life, some people are flawed. Yes they were some execution issues in this season, but I don't think any character was ruined. To me the characters got more interesting, as we really see how complex and nuanced they are. Edit: Kat is the exception but we know the reason for that.
@@angelaortega1495 Idk tho I mean I get where ur coming from but look at the way they did Kats story…the diner part with her and Ethan was so bad I almost stopped watching. They made a lot of main characters side characters this season and just did whatever with their story’s. I feel like this season was just about Rue and Cassie and don’t get me started on cassie🤦
@@prieltheprune1302 That's why I said there were some execution issues (because there really was). But regarding Kat, Barbie did not make it easy for Sam either. (They both should have compromised better). If the actress walks off set, it's hard to make a cohesive story. (Same thing for Mckay's actor, what can you do if someone doesn't want to respect covid rules ?). While Cassie's character is extremely flawed, her writing wasn't. Her behavior doesn't come as a shock given her backstory and season 1. The you know what event (I don't want to spoil but I think you can guess) explained a lot about why Cassie is behaving the way she does, so does her hypersexual nature which makes what she's doing with Nate more exciting to her. I agree some characters were put in the background. But I feel like it's kind of fair given that some of those characters got a lot more spotlight in season 1. Other than Rue who's the main character Kat,Maddy,Jules,Nate dominated season 1. So I'm glad that season 2 had nore Lexi,Fez and Cal. Nate is the main villain so he'll always be present. Cassie could also be deemed a villain this season, hence why she had a lot screentime.
Nah because cassie got curved really hard that's embarrassing on a whole tried and true level and when she dressed up like Maddy like come on now 🙃🙃 baby hairs and all that's what we call clown behavior and that bathroom scene like I don't know and Rue so stupid for that I could never get 10k worth of drugs from someone and then potentially have to owe somebody like rue rue no that's like the worst and this episode I peeped Elliot this where I knew im not go like his ways
@@idkkkk88 oh no you’re good. There’s no need to apologize. I was just letting you know he prefers Nathan to Nate. I probably could’ve worded it in a way that sounded nicer. That’s my bad. But you good. No harm done.
Nate doesn’t like Cassie’s he likes Jules. That’s why in episode 2 of this season Jules was appearing in his dream of Cassie. Cassie is just an easy alternative that makes him appear straight. In season 1, he expressed how much he loved Maddy and wanted to marry her, however he choked her last season and fucked her best friend this season. He just wants the disk back from her. He deep down doesn’t give a shit about Maddy and Cassie but he is trying to convince himself of these romantic ideas of love and having kids with girls bc it makes him feel and appear straight and human. Cassie longs to just be loved and as shown in her backstory, will do things she isnt comfortable with to appease her boyfriend. Her big issue is the absence of her father and that leads her to accept any form of male validation. It’s really sad but there are a ton of people like Cassie who accept toxic relationships due to the fear of being alone.
GUYS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD ! Please watch the special episodes for better context !!!! 🙏🙏😭😭🤣 That scene at the end was less impacful to you because you didn't watch Rue's special.
it makes me really sad that you didnt watch the special episodes bc you are losing a lot of backstory for rue and also i didn’t use to like jules that much before her special episode, it makes you watch her for a totally diferent pov
There is no universal standard for what constitutes cheating. It's a conversation that needs to be had if you value your relationship. Unfortunately, Rue is kinda emotionally unavailable for such conversations right now. Elliot is the only person Jules really has to talk to. Doesn't justify certain actions. But I get it.
Tbh i feel so bad for nates dad. He actually had to hide who he was his entire life. Because he was TERRIFED of the backlash he would get for saying he was gaya and in love wit his friend.

We need to get rid of the body count question entirely. Someone’s worth isnt deformities by how many people they’ve slept with. As long as they’ve been safe it’s no one’s business.

Omg I totally agree when I saw this episode I was like it’s sooooo clear what he’s doing here. First he makes Jules insecure by trying to make it seem like rue isn’t interested in her sexually. Then right after he breaks jules down a bit he built her back up with complements. This scene made me immediately not trust him, and jules was already ify in my eyes but after seeing her entertain a conversation about another person wanting to f*ck rue, her an Elliot both weird for that.
