  • Yoko was found in the road. Her tiny body was too weak to stand and she was simply bones. We are crossing every thing and hoping that with our help she will be strong enough to pull through
Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue is a registered wildlife charity that works 24/7, 365 days a year to rescue, rehabilitate and release our native wildlife. From tiny dormice to the majestic deer and everything in between.
We are a small charity, but we provide a unique and vital service to our local community as the local centre to help wildlife. Each of the thousands of animals we help every year has a unique story and a person, who cared enough to stop what they were doing and bring the animal to the rescue centre. We responded last year over 3500 wildlife incidents.
We support the general public, local vets, fire services, police and the RSPCA. We operate 7-days a week, 365 days year. We are funded by donations from the public and our own fundraising efforts.
We ‘Rescue, Rehabilitate, Release, Refine and Educate’. Our rescue and rehabilitation is essential but so it having a space for our wild patients to be released back to.
Education is important to us. We see many wild animals arrive with us whose injuries are often caused by man and habitat devastation. We have been educating in the community through schools, community groups and campaigns, directly to tackle the key issues affecting our wildlife, and to create a wider understanding of the issues faced and the roles that we can play to alleviate them, enabling our precious wildlife to thrive. We have over thirty years of direct experience in helping sick, injured, and orphaned wild animals in their time of need.
The Covid -19 pandemic has had a significant detrimental impact on our income. As a small charity we rely on donations from the public and funds raising from events and activities. Following the Government guidelines, we have had to cancel our planned events and activities this year and into the future. In addition, we have seen donations drop.As one of the Rescue centres who have remained operational through covid, we have seen an increase in the number of animals we have helped and treated this year. Please support us with these two ongoing costs so that we can continue to function at the level needed to address the demand for our wildlife rescue and to ensure we can continue to help wildlife into the future.
Throughout the lockdown, many of people have spent time enjoying nature and our local wildlife. This has had a positive effect on many people’s mental health and for some, they have helped a sick or injured wild animal which is something they will never forget.
We will continue to battle here on the front and we hope you will continue to support us and the wild animals that need our help .
Thank you from us all xx
