as someone who typically enjoys black accents, the way bmw has been doing them with the sharp angles and how they're shaped relative to the body... yeah, 100% needs to stop
You've inadvertedly proven that BMW designers know what they're doing :D Not sure if you realised it, but you made the new car look dated by applying the older design details (such as the flame surfacing on the front bumper), rather than re-imagining the "broad" details (hip line, overall silhouette, etc.) as a new language. Simply carrying over retro details and pasting them onto modern products never work. They need to be revised an re-imagined.
They do not know what theyre doing... Thats obvious. Theyre just trying all kinds of designs and see`s what sticks. None of their vehicles share design language, none. F-generation was the last generation to share design language across all models. Thank fuq that BMW has on the Neue Klasse concepts removed the AWFUL grille on the 4-series/i4 and iX and the awful split headlights on the new 7-series after seeing the feedback.
@@TheGamingNorwegian I’m a fan of the Neue Klasse design approach, but I disagree with the lack of consistency. If anything, the 3, 4, last 5 and 8, X3, X4, X5, and X6 all show very similar design patterns. The cars that are distinctly different from the standard stablemates are the newer M-only cars (M2, M3/4, XM), the two 7’s (7/X7), and the odd iX. If you take a step back, it looks like they gave their bread and butter cars a more evolutionary design approach, and made the non-standard ones a lot more polarising.
The only change I liked was the lowering of the grille. Otherwise, the redesign completely killed the spirit, soul and feel of the G20 LCI, which is one of my all-time favourite BMW designs. The high-gloss black graphic above the radiator grille could be trimmed slightly but not nearly as much as TSM did here. I also find the comment about the lack of upper-lower body separation absurd. I think the separation is very clear, if not one of most well executed and clean designs made in recent years by BMW.
@@TheGamingNorwegian F30 was the first iteration of electric steering, and its so numb. G20 is a bit better, but both suck compared to E90. with regards to styling, F30 front end is probably one of the worst they designed. air intakes too small, and headlights look like afterthought eyeglasses. very unnatural look.
it is getting uglier (front),why? the kidney grill front is the significant signature of BMW.... but now the bottom portion is so big that stand out much more than the top portion... what is the point?
The original G20 msport before face-lift was great to see in real life.. on paper I preferred the look of the f30 but after owning the g20 and months looking at the lines they did an amazing job.
Actually there is huge difference front bumper in M Sport package for F30. Clearly separated lower half and top half also looking very dynamic with lower desing👍🏼
Didn’t they already did a facelift for the current 3-4 series months ago ? Adding the futuristic dash board screens and updated exterior for both 3 & 4 series
I would invert the trapezoid vent on the bumper, as it is the bumper looks a bit awkward and too empty. Otherwise great redesign, taking it back to the simplicity of the E era.
Overall I liked the LCI1 exterior design changes but the simple lines kind of give it Accord-face. The rear bumper is solid, maybe a little less gloss black. No traditional gear shifter is a dealbreaker on the interior.
Can you please do a design of a 2024 Volkswagen Beetle? Maybe with some some retro styling, perhaps? Definitely should be rear engined like the original.
My humble opinion is that this is the best looking three series and your redesign does not look as good. It still looks good but the actual design is better imo. I know a lot of people are going to disagree but looks are objective.
Your redesign is so much better. I don’t understand what is happening with the BMW design department. They used to be at the top of the industry but they have really lost their way. They have fallen into the trap of over design and need to go back to simpler and cleaner designs the way that Honda has.
The B-modular engines are leaps ahead of the crap BMW used to make. Cant forget that BMW started their partnership with Toyota in 2011-2012, and that Toyota while not being a direct part of designing and manufacturing these engines, did do reliability and durability tests on em to ensure theyd be up to their standards. Supra/Z4 project has roots way deeper than what people think, Toyota didnt just ask BMW if they could rebadge the Z4, they were an active part of both funding and development, which BMW brought with them to their other vehicles.
not sure why they put the black gloss plastic on the rear bumper, its so out of place. everything else looks fine.... i am sticking with my 2020 M340 dravit gray
I’m my opinion F80 m3 is the best looking 3 series. That car was sculpted and not just clean simple lines. It’s very dynamic! I think it’s just not appreciated because it has a “trendier” modern design language
German horsepower can be understated, it might be over 275 . The 3 series lights are kind of @$$ and the “smile” of bottom grill makes it harder to get good side inlets looking good. Needs a full front end and lights redo. New kidney is awful too. Looks too much like a koala. BMWs expermentalist styling direction is bad, and the line lacks cohesion. I wouldn’t mind if the 3,4,5, and 7 series shared grilles and headlights. It worked well I the 80’s and that’s when bmw looked the best.
congratulations, you designed an F30. What they want to avoid is looking like the same model so they are breaking all of the rules that you always mention. All the rules that other automakers have copied so they have to be different to appear more premium than a kia that has the design principles that were special 10 years ago on luxury cars.
New 3 series is perfect. best design they have in their new cars. (All their interiors are ugly though - hate their interpretation of ambient lighting) First redesign i strongly disliked. You also always make the grills too small
First picture is the E30, came out in the 80's. Before came the E21, that is shown in the clips (only 2 lights instead of 4). Before that was the 2002.
A problem now days with designers is that they make everything black and clad and call it sporty. This has to stop
as someone who typically enjoys black accents, the way bmw has been doing them with the sharp angles and how they're shaped relative to the body... yeah, 100% needs to stop
The blacked out accents is the new red trim pieces 😂
Cheeky you left out the E90 3 series eh...
The “M-Sport” trim from 2019 looks perfect to me

M340i is a beast
Yow my favourite e92 in terms of looks. Modern but still unmistakeable bmw
E46 to F30/F80 for me. All three of those generations are peak. The current-gen pignose (and pig weight) M cars are the problem.
Much cleaner redesign, brings the essence of bmw's classic look. I like it a lot
This is the few times that I think the original design is better
Agreed
I’m glad you’re sketching again
Let's face it, BMW did a great job designing cars TWENTY years ago. Now it just, "Bigger grill, Oh! Smaller grill, Oh!"
Too Big!!!!
Too small!!!
Why can't they design at least a normal looking grill and just sit right in the middle???
E46 was very good,. e90 was ok. F30 was a miss. G20 is fantastic
@@igorcvetkovic2112 Youre drunk, F30 looks amazing. G20 was the miss.

BMW might consider hiring him for the design team.

Skipping the e90 is criminal

How is this 2025 update any different from the 2023 model?
I prefer my pre facelift G20
Finally a redesign vid, thanks bembli

I’d redesign the dash wuth a binnacle and switchgear.
Your re-design looks more like the pre-LCI G20😄
Is this a way of getting rid of the diesel?
I would invert the trapezoid vent on the bumper, as it is the bumper looks a bit awkward and too empty. Otherwise great redesign, taking it back to the simplicity of the E era.
Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and say that's a MASSIVE improvement.
Overall I liked the LCI1 exterior design changes but the simple lines kind of give it Accord-face. The rear bumper is solid, maybe a little less gloss black. No traditional gear shifter is a dealbreaker on the interior.
Looks a lot like the f90 M5 lci, sane vibe to me, would've been nice if they did the 3 series like this
Can you please do a design of a 2024 Volkswagen Beetle? Maybe with some some retro styling, perhaps? Definitely should be rear engined like the original.
2024 beetle 😂
Could you please do that for the rear end as well?
My humble opinion is that this is the best looking three series and your redesign does not look as good. It still looks good but the actual design is better imo. I know a lot of people are going to disagree but looks are objective.
Do you ever get contacted by car makers asking for a critique before production?
E92 and E93 is where bmw design peaked, both for interior and exterior it’s managed to age better than the f30
This LCI has been out since 2022?!
From the Outside its 100% of the LCI from 2022 excluding new colors. Inside has changed a little bit.
The 3 series is perfect bro leave it, especially the LCI
Perfect redesign, it hurts to realise it doesnt actually look like this. I'd change the wheel tho.
I love this redesign❤
bro made the LCI bumper become the Pre-LCI 😄

So this is the second Facelift or what happening there?
You did what you could. BMW has all the charm of an LG refrigerator these days. And just as reliable.
People still calling bmws un reliable? Ever heard of the b58 and s58? Or u been living under a rock the past 4 years
go drive one before you judge.
The B-modular engines are leaps ahead of the crap BMW used to make.

you missed the e9x gen bud but go off
Quite a clean redesign, however, when I squinted, I do see the FE generation Honda Civic face in a way.
Hondas are better looking than bmw now, besides being better made cars.
this might be one of the best redesigns on this channel. perfect
cat has amazing taste ngl

Great redesign!
It looks a bit like a Alpina but it looks a lot Better
I feel overly optimistic to be asking for the classical styling of the 3 series concept, giving off 70s vibes
It looks exactly like the G20
You made it look like a passat
I hate the new BMW's but this one still looks normal
you forgot the chris bangle one!
In the past everything was better..... because we became used to it :)
You turned it from a BMW to a Skoda 😂
BMW's new tag line should be: Not what it used to be
I prefer the previous generation 3 Series. Well, everything about BMW I prefer the previous generation
Looks like the 5 series F10
Looks like a Dodge Charger base model
So essentially, you draw the non M Sport version.
BMW is a lost cause. No coming back for them.
Nothing wrong with the current generation. The redesign doesn‘t improve anything for me and just makes it look awkward.
nice cat bro
Use M trims to compare
Also the original is 10 times better

bmw design is alot better imo. yours look like chinese knockoff
The redesign has Mercedes vibes
E46 compared to E36 looks fatter, more melted, even cheaper somehow.

I don't like it redesign!
IDK about this. I mean all you did was turn it into the base model 3er. This one ain't successful.
Not really.
Sorry. 2025 model is still better than your design.
