IMHO the A3/S3 is the only car in this segment that looks really good with a notchback. I still can´t believe how BMW failed with the proportions on the 2-Series GC.
I’m a huge audi fan and want to like this, but the grill, and lack of s3 badge in the front, and the horrible new badge in the back make it really hard…

Personally, previous gen s3 was better than the new model, which is better than the facelift. The prefacelift was still good looking though. And still looked fresh. For me, they should have just updated mechan8cally and improve interior quality. The messed the face up.
Always was fond of the S3, and I'm thinking of acquiring this one. I know all the nitty-grittys except one, how does it fair in hot climate as a daily driver (not extensive mileages), will the turbo be overheated and overworked and have a lifespan of less than 8 years? I know that they tested this model in Oman, which has a similar climate to my country, so that's reassuring, but I'm hoping that someone who owned an S3 can speak from firsthand experience.
Given that the RS3 is probably a run-out model (due to emissions with the 5 cylinder), the new S3 may be bridging the gap ….. effectively an updated S3 and the RS3 replacement.
My understanding is that the S3 gets the torque vectoring diff of the RS3 and Golf R, but won’t have the drift mode setting. Just as well since that’s a pathetic gimmick.
I can't believe you didn't comment on the rear fascia silver elements in the lower portion. Nothing is functional and the silver elements draw attention to it. No thank you.

Ugly. I'm sorry. AR designed a car with their signature grill, that does not accept a front plate so you have to tack it onto the side of the grill and on the body of the car and it looks ridiculous. Every time I see one I say, "what were they thinking?
i own the pre-facelift and because of the nice technical upgrades i was considering stepping over to the new facelift model, but honestly.. it looks soo much worse. i hate the new headlights and the tail lights even more. and the new front looks like it tries to make a duckface for instagram
I think this does not look like a S3. Way worse than the old one. It does not even have the S3 logo . And those silver things in the grill, makes every one want the black optic option checked lol :)
So audi gets more money by making you include the black optic package😂 although i don't hate it like I dont hate the chrome details in the bmw 4-series!
Volvo does it right. They have a bright and dark package whereas the bright (chrome trime) is standard and the dark (black trim) is a no cost option. This is the proper way because there's no reason black trim should cost more.

Pro: - Extended ambient lighting - seperated cup holders Cons: - still poor quality with the door panels - rear of the center armrest exposes that awful barrel/drum housing - no proper automatic shifter - basic bodykit is an insane downgrade and very plain and asian market sedanish - removed the quattro hommage air inlets from the hood above the grill - increased use of recycled material in exhange of quality. - bad position for the cup holders

The Audi S3 from 8V onwards is one of the best proportioned sedans in the business. It is a Hugo Boss jacket in slimfit cut.

Hatchback looks so elegant. Sedan looks a bit hemmed in. Don't create luxury car proportions
