It almost feels as if Audi executives watched your previous video and said "Ja, he has a point". Haha The facelift looks great, but why they went for that steering wheel is something I don't understand. VW and Mercedes went down this route using steering wheels with sensor touch "buttons" instead of physical buttons, which is horrible! I have used them myself and they are very annoying. Quite often something gets activated without your intent, or you scroll something by mistake, just because your thumb happened to be there... It's just a bad design for a steering wheel.
Those are not touch buttons on the steering wheel. You have to physically press them for any input to register so u won't be accidentally activating anything.
@@money_773I’m not so sure about that. Even so, they are all on one plate. Not separated. Which means to press one button, the whole thing will flex since there are not individual buttons. Still annoying.
It annoys me so much that some people really think it looks like a Kia forte for some reason. It’s literally just looks like a better updated rs3 model nothing else looks like it.
I don't think so. The new S5 Avant (which was the A4 Avant( , base spec with no options, is the same price as the current RS4 base spec in the UK. Yet I can get a BMW M340i Touring, fully loaded, for less than the price of an S5 and BMW finance rates are half Audis - the BMW is better looking, faster, has a much better interior and comes with much better options. Audi should take note if you ask me, as when the times comes, I'm not getting another one. Their prices are now a joke and the quality keeps falling.
Spot on with this design overview. The steering wheel design belongs on electric models only. I wish they kept a different wheel for the gas models and also an even sportier version for RS models. Now I'm worried new RS5 will have the same thing.
The Audi 8Y and 8Y.5 RS3 both look great and I think owners of each should be happy. The 8Y has more catchy and busy styling (functional styling but aggressive on the styling) and the 8Y.5 is more subdued and less loud looking. It reminds me of the Honda FK8 Civic Type R being a lot to look at while the FL5 Civic Type R that followed is much more subdued looking. I think Audi wanted something more shocking and exciting looking to get people excited then something more subdued to open the market to more buyers.
I do agree they are a downgrade, but they are Not exactly capacitive Like in a Golf for example, you cannot press them just by touching them, they still require a buttonlike press, the only touch thing you can do is swipe to control things Like the volume for example, but yes i did prefer the old Buttons as well
Amazing front, not round parts anymore, makes it so aggressive. Also the back with that enormous defuser is astonishing. Not to mention that they luckily removed all the fake air intakes around the car. It’s simply perfect now in looks.
I agree. It looks forced. On my TTS, it’s on the bonnet and I think they should do the same with this car (or center it between the top of the grille and the license plate).

The steering wheel is awful. Looks like they couldn't be bothered to design it and just took what was available in the parts bin. It's probably the same size as the older one, but it looks bigger being more squarish. The centre should never be that wide and square. Wrong wrong wrong. Nothing sporty about it at all.

Odd that they couldn't learn from VW. They are going back to actual buttons on the steering wheel vs these capacitive touch ones because of the hatred for them.
