When I was in high school at the end of the first quarter the coach would change all five players and they would continue to run. The other team was beat when they saw that.
If Moody can play solid point-attack defense he should start at SG next to Curry. Then you can surround Podz with vets in the second unit. I know it’s a big if, but he’s shown flashes of that D, like against Brunson last year
Alch...you are my favorite analyst on line. I'm a patron. 1 tiny little suggestion. You like the word "nuclear". It's just that...nuclear, not nukular.😬 Keep up the good work. Oh, and there are people stealing your content out there. They're using click-bait titles too. Get em.
AA, question. Do teams really NEED to stick with a solid granite starting 5? Why can't it be more fluid? (With a team like this). Moody has a shot that's as smooth as a baby's bottom! He'll get hot! Defensively, did you see him handle Brunson last year?
The added height of TJD actually hurted his offensive production. At lower height, he was like a running back with low center of gravity and sneak through opponents easier. He easily have double digits production offensively last season but not so from what I seen in the preseason. He hasn't sneakin and made that many lobs due to opponents able to track him easier with his added height. But his added height should help him more defensively.
W's depth prevailed. W's 3rd team >> Sac's 3rd team. Question is: will the W's starters and 12 man rotation be enough during the regular (and hopefully post-) season?
Moody while a good scorer , he is slow moving laterally as a defender . He has always been coachable and willing to put in the hard work. JK is still trying to find his rhythm and finding his mechanics as a consistent scorer . He still needs to be prepared defensively and is getting beaten off the dribble . He’s too good of an athlete. Still don’t know where Wiggins is mentally in his game , haven’t seen him yet to appear in a preseason game . I understand he recently lost his father and last 2 seasons seemed preoccupied by family matters , but now he’s at a crucial point of his career . Can he get it together and show the form he excited as an all-star ? If he can’t or is unwilling to be available , he needs to go to the bench or be traded . Need to see what Kevin Knox brings as a power forward
They were ready last year. 5-0 without Thompson last year. No Thompson says everyone else gets more minutes and opportunities and not playing from behind waiting for Thompson to get hot. But he was an OG.. so Kerr had to respect Thompson and give him all those minutes. I watched three of those non Thompson games, and the rhythm of that team was so much better last year. Yeah I said it.
I agree on the volume comment about moody 💯 Think so far the way GP looks he needs to be a defensive menace on every possession otherwise he’s just another undersized “big” out there as far as roles go and actually puts our lineups at a disadvantage compared to having someone like Melton or Moody out there… even Lindy
Alch if you had the opportunity to be a host on warriors pre and postgame live, would you do it ? Seems like it might be a no brainer but I’m genuinely curious
This is not a knock on Klay, but his absence has made our office flow more freely. Before, the young guys were always hunting Klay, trying to get him his shots, sometimes passing up better looks. It's hard for young guys not to do this. Klay is a legend, and this was the house he partially built. Now, the young guys only have to worry about Steph, but Steph is more unselfish than Klay and will move the ball if he doesn't have a look he likes. Klay was hunting shots the last couple of years, with no conscience, regardless.
If you have that many rotational players, you should be able to trade for some size off the bench. Or trade for future draft picks instead of good rotational players not getting time.
I have 1 major concern for this season, which is that the turnovers will be constant and pervasive all season long. I say this because Kerr has said that he's simplifying the offence to be more structural and less reactive/ instinctual so that the young fellas can pick it up more easily (even though this may only be temporary I'm not sure I agree with the tactic but oh well)... if this happens and you're still passing at high volume I think this leads to lots of interceptions by experienced team opposition an I cant seem to convince myself otherwise.
Alch, let's talk Podz. He's out there running around like a headless chook, trying to play perimeter defense but struggling, setting ineffective screens in motion offense, failing to find the roll on the pick and roll, dribbling into the paint and having to whip out a tough pass just to avoid a turnover or bad shot, not being able to reliably set up open shooters, not being able to shoot many 3's. He even struggled against Sacramento's reserves. I've thought it all along that if we're going to rely on him we'll be in trouble. In this game he was outperformed by Spencer. If we had a chance to use him as a trade piece and we absolutely should have.
not sure we are watching the same player.. I think he's been good, hell he is a better defender the Moses or JK right now just simply off angles and KYP
@@AthleticAlchemy I don't normally disagree with you but we'll have to on this one. I agree that JK and Moody need to sharpen up defensively. Melton probably needs to be out there, probably a starter next to Steph. I think our offense will struggle against some of the tighter defenses this season, based on what I've seen so far because of the scheme Kerr uses throughout the entire lineup.
Draymond & Steph were driving me crazy with the turnovers. And Draymond arguing w/ refs during preseason. Ugh, just stop! A lot of the other turnovers were guys thinking someone was going to be in a spot, but then weren't. So I think that will improve, when they start running sets together. You probably know better, but I trust in Moody's defense. The effort is there, and I think that's half the battle.Sorry, but I'd rather trade Pods then Moody. I feel like if we can get someone like Valenciunas we'd be set. Anyway, thanks for taking the time. Love the insights!
Man, if Wiggins is back on the path to being a competitive player this team is real. Lots of promise so far even though it’s just preseason. Biggest issue is depth which is a blessing. May make moves come deadline to get some draft capital back or money for when these guys get paid.

I agree he needs volume shot since he shoot 3pts good in college and some of the games in the past season I never heard him complain only his representative clutch sports because of his upcoming contract so his poise and act like veteran compared kuminga although his more talented as a NBA fan im confident his not a bust but because the warriors is focus on Steph which is ok because his a franchise player and his the best shooter and Steve kerr wound never give him consistent minutes im excited for his next team in the future because he can be a good 2 two way player because his hard work good potential
Moses and jk had 18 of our 30 free throws and Like 6 of the was end of game fouling them two definitely gives us a better balance on offense
When I was in high school at the end of the first quarter the coach would change all five players and they would continue to run. The other team was beat when they saw that.
Positive vibes!
Only one that can ruin this is Kerr. Does he have the guts to bench Wiggins? Does he have the guts to start Moody?
Moses can be a Jalen Williams type of player
Yup, Kuminga is Uptempo for sure.
Moody starting at 2 could help Kuminga flourish and will help him get out of Steph’s way 😂
If Moody can play solid point-attack defense he should start at SG next to Curry.
Get em.
good stuff Alchemy
Uses his length in an interesting way...pause🤣
good content ** From ny
Moses Moody. Damn.
only two ppl on our team tht consistently get to the line nbs
jk and moody
He got taller in the off-season?
I feel like Klay held them back to some degree. Sucks for me to say that though.
Moody could really be a lot like mikal bridges with more volume and ofc pt l
W's depth prevailed. W's 3rd team >> Sac's 3rd team. Question is: will the W's starters and 12 man rotation be enough during the regular (and hopefully post-) season?
If the Dubs just hold big leads unlike last year, they’ll be a 5-6 seed. But im not sure if they will…
Moody while a good scorer , he is slow moving laterally as a defender .
He uses his length in an interesting way.. pause
A lot of it did come against the bench
I agree on the volume comment about moody 💯
Think so far the way GP looks he needs to be a defensive menace on every possession otherwise he’s just another undersized “big” out there as far as roles go and actually puts our lineups at a disadvantage compared to having someone like Melton or Moody out there… even Lindy
Alch if you had the opportunity to be a host on warriors pre and postgame live, would you do it ? Seems like it might be a no brainer but I’m genuinely curious
the issue would be the cost of living in the Bay tbh
@@coachwalk7485 agreed we need a true big
I think he's been good, hell he is a better defender the Moses or JK right now just simply off angles and KYP
...this!!!!!
@@AthleticAlchemydisagree on it take...he is not a good defender
@@AthleticAlchemy I don't normally disagree with you but we'll have to on this one. I agree that JK and Moody need to sharpen up defensively. Melton probably needs to be out there, probably a starter next to Steph. I think our offense will struggle against some of the tighter defenses this season, based on what I've seen so far because of the scheme Kerr uses throughout the entire lineup.
@@mjacksonjones he's trending to that direction it's more than steals.
Still need to make a trade to get an energy big with a workable jumper. I'd go after Beef Stew.
I think Moody is just as good as JK. So I don't know why they prop up Kuminga as the next face of the Warriors.
