I believe Izzy when he said it’s not about the belt it’s about beating him. When it comes to certain fights it’s all about the principle. Sometimes the get back is everything. I hope this one lives up to the hype, can’t wait!
he already prepares us for him not being a champ with that statement. "its not about the belt" - so when he loses it, he can say "I told you I'm not fighting for the belt, the belt isn't important for me". He is a smart man he understands that there is a very high chance of him losing this fight. I'd say its 80% chance of Alex winning. He says that he has improved since, but so did Alex. Alex will most likely be the new champ and then lose his belt to Chimaev

None of them beat him in the middleweight division and only a light heavyweight was only just able to get the better of him. He didn't dominate him. Saw Eugenes interview about the tough love and not allowing any complacency in this training camp and I think that’s the best thing a champ like Izzy and the team needs from time to time that’ll serve everyone well including the culture in that gym for continued success. As a former athlete, that tough love was a bitch and I hated it initially but the rewards you reap from it and you gain to cherish it, much love and success to Izzy and the CKB fam!

I think Izzy needs to actually reverse his mantras and internal dialogue. When he's building the fight saying "I'm don't even care about this belt, now I just want to put on a SHOW" "I'm gonna go out there and have fun" "I just want the challenge", we get the Izzy who fought Cannonier/Romero/Whittaker2 . I think he should reverse hypnotize himself. If I start hearing him say "I only care about the W. The Money. I'm not here to have fun. I'm not here to put on a show. If I have to Mayweather you, I will. You can't catch me, but my foot can always touch you. I wont even destroy your calf, I'm just gonna touch it with my toes for easy points😎" THEN we'll see ultra instinct Izzy destroying opponents, tanking hits and being undisputed.

Ikr...they should take it easy all during fight week...I think that it's so stupid to get in the best shape of your life, and then to cut all that weight and put your body through hell 2 days away from the fight. They need to make everybody move up 1 to 2 weight classes, and begin implementing the same water tests that ONE Championship does. It makes sure that you aren't depleting your body for an unfair advantage.
