- watch me doing the YES challenge for 24 hours without my fiancé knowing about it. let's say I did not expect the ending of the challenge AT ALL... therefore the abrupt ending of the video lol
just to explain what happened:
well, what happened was my fiancé got an offer by the chef of that restaurant to join a group of people that night for Itamae. I’m not quite familiar with Itamae or omakase myself, but as far as I understood, it is this set up where you dine at a japanese restaurant and the chef serves you around 20 small courses, mostly sushi, with wine or other alcoholic beverages. and what’s so special about it is you as the guest get to watch the chef preparing all of those courses right in front of you. basically, a cooking show in real life. and since my fiancé and the chef knew each other, he gave him an offer to join itamae for that night. so, he could bring one person with him and pay only half of the total price. such a deal considering how expensive itamae can be.
my fiancé was considering to bring me with him but then he asked me if it would be okay to invite his friend from work instead, who also was his best man for the wedding and his birthday was right around the corner. and given the challenge, I said yes. so that’s why I ended up going home after the movie and my fiancé went back to the restaurant with his colleague.
did I regret doing the yes challenge on that particular day, kind of.
but on the other hand, did my fiancé get to give his colleague/best man a great birthday experience? yes, no doubt.

How long did take you to become fully able to speak? 11 Months? or one year?
I came to norway with a basic knowledge of norwegian but still far away from speaking fully and understanding everything.
I started attending couple of online courses around November 2020 and felt somehow safe to work in March 2021. Since I was required to speak in norwegian at work, it happened to be the best practice opportunity for me.
From there my speaking and listening skills gradually improved to the point where I suddenly realised that I was able to converse with people in norwegian without thinking much about it.
So in that perspective I would say it took me around 1 1/2 years. However I would not describe myself as fully fluent because there is still so much more to learn.

@@TheCoIdestWater alfaskolen.no and speaknorsk.no :) these are the two websites I used during my study period. Just so you know, attending any course will come with a fee. But in my case, I was willing to pay for it and it definitely helped me a lot with my progress.

@@iamgrefiel376 Ja, det gjorde jeg før jeg flyttet til Norge men det tok ikke så lang tid før det ble godkjent. Norskprøven har jeg ikke tatt enda, mest sannsynlig neste år. Så fint at du er nå i prosessen for å få autorisasjon slik at du kan jobbe som sykepleier. Håper alt blir bra!😊
