Yes totally agree Dr. Strang is an excellent instructor and has some outstanding applied math texts that i always keep at hand. He has such a deep and thorough understanding of his subject matter that like many true experts (sports also as in academics and i love both) he never gets mixed up , can extemporize as needed, and can make things seem far easier than they actually are.
You are an excellent teacher sir. I admire your ability to present important mathematics topics that are directly applicable to physics and engineering, in a very easy way to digest.
Usually, predatory-pray system of equations have coefficients behind each terms: e.g. dy/dt = ky - ayz, dz/dt = byz - rz where k & r birth/death rate of pray/predator and a & b are the rate of encounter (usually a = b) In this example, all coefficients are 1. So you see unrealistic steady state solutions like (0, 0) & (1, 1)
I wsd thinking this, i didnt remember the equations as the autor descrives them, didnt also remeber them to be that simple to be hosnest, its funny how simple the model is.... Dont mind tha magic number he is glinting at an engginering problem that acrues with maths, "the usseless solution" Imagine a chemist doing all his maths just to find that 0 = 0 as a solution. What does mean in real life, i mean numbers have a meaning in Reality
This dude deserves a field medal of best teacher

This is a great way to introduce linearization of nonlinear systems.
Amazing way of teaching mathematics!
Could of been someone if he was my professor. Wow finally makes intuitive sense.
Thank you for teaching in human language
Where re these come from (y-1)' = -(z-1) and the other (z-1)' = (y-1) 17:00
It's an ıdle questıon but if there is anyone who wonder that it is come from this equation :
d/dt[ (y-Y) ; (z-Z) ] = [ J ] *[ ( y - Y ) ; ( z - Z ) ]
i love the passion the most
Great professor....

in this case, how can I use the Hartman Grobman Theorem?
Gilbert...a god amongst men...
Thank you professor so much.
Great video sir! Thank you!
y"+y=1 for that system not 0. It's a non homogeneous system. Ty
Excellent
Good teacher
this guy is amazing
"Rabbits are growing, it is an unstable point"
Professor Strang-2016.
Magnificent
thank you
yes sir the economy has gotten TOTALLY out of hand
so great
You are a prince x
lol, Gilbert is a caninibal: t=14m14s, :)) when the population is really small, forget the eating... there aren't enough people around...
OOK
