- Brian invites Ruth to his room for a cosy dinner for two, but the occasion somehow turns into a blazing row between the two of them. Could this be the end of their relationship? This episode was first broadcast on the 23rd March, 1977.
Jill Gascoigne was married to actor Alfred Molina, she died from complications with dementia. A stunningly attractive and very capable actress. RIP.

Superb acting and dialogue in the scene with Ruth and Brian. 'Rising Tension' would have been an even more apt title. I wonder if it was completely scripted or at least in part improvised? The Greek au pair story was overshadowed but it did ease the intensity.
It sure is tense and brilliant writing on display in this episode. And the chemistry between Marlowe and Gascoine is certainly evident in all of their scenes together.
@@majordolbyscat The only thing I'd add is I feel the original, downbeat ending music of Rooms suits the series much more than the jaunty tune they use. Especially in this episode.

I don't think that it's fair to blame feminism! I'm very grateful for the vote, the right to have my own bank account/mortgage/etc, or to leave a violent marriage and stand on my own feet! But she's just a spoiled bitch and there have always been some of them! He's well rid of her!
