And Dr ElFadl, knowing his background, shocked me when he asked about including hudud as a PUNISHMENT in a CONSTITUTION . Isn’t the meaning of “hudud” = “the limits of God” without a penal meaning? Isn’t crime and punishment a modern law concept forced onto Islamic law by the colonialists? anyway, thank you all for what you do. Your mega long videos make it challenging to access the knowledge you offer but may God reward you.

Hudud does not mean limits of God as in limits on God, but limits imposed by God on his creation.
