Mainly cus it would be a hassle to screen it all in the hypothetical scenario you got alot of it… especially if someone would use a p.o box. (This wasnt the case in camilas case, just in general)
I think, it would be safest to just accept letters. They are easier to screen for tracking devices yourself. if you have a p.o box, even if you missed a tracking device, it wouldnt be hidden in the same way, so you would have some time to take protective measures.
If it was me, id prob set up a po box and have a middle man pick it up, screen the letters and then have them send the letters to me.
She's got some quick reflexes to start screaming immediately when the iPhone tried to rat her out, good on her.

Small correction: The guy knocked on her window during her collab with Evil Neuro, he didn't have the sledgehammer at that point. He came back with it the next day and bashed her garage door.
The knock during the first incident was a test. They weren't 100% sure they had the right house so they knocked on a window and hearing it on stream confirmed it was her house. Then they came back more prepared.

Because my mom and I were awake at 4am, her for her shift as a nurse because she traded shifts that day, and me because I was more manic than usual and only got 4 hours of sleep. They were checking when we went to bed and we had just so happened to have broken our schedule on the night they did it.
It happens. A lot. And you do not need to be a notable person for it to happen.

Something similar happened to me and my mom years ago. She was outside on the porch with the lights off admiring the sky and heard a rustling in the bushes, when she turned the lights on she saw a guy ten feet away with a knife IN HIS HAND. We ran inside and called the police, thankfully they caught the guy. He was a ranch hand at our neighbors home and admitted to coming over to our property to spy on us multiple times. Our neighbors wife just told us we were overreacting and “he probably just wanted to talk to you!” Bro with a KNIFE in his hand??? It was awful and made me hate living out there until I finally moved away.

@ idk if anyone else beyond who we told knew about it. We were out in the country and that neighbor had lots of land (like over 100 acres) and our other neighbors had like 20-300 acres to themselves so it’s not exactly a neighborhood more like a bunch of people with ranches or just lots of land (we weren’t rich, my parents just bought at the right time back in tje 90s. The neighbor w the ranch hand was rich tho lol). The guy was in the country illegally and I think the wife assumed my mom was being racist to the guy who came to our home, but when someone has prior felonies on their record, both in my country and their home country, its a problem. For us it was never about race but I think she saw it that way.

@@codyknight3580it's apparently a "Safety" feature on IPhones to verbally announce to the location if an airtag that isn't registered to your account is activated near your IPhone. Admittedly it's meant to alert *OTHER* people that you've potentially stolen something, but depending on how technically skilled the guy was, who's to say the one in the gift was the only tracker.
If he managed to sneak one into her clothes or something, then that's potentially a live feed tracker, and this situation could have been a whole lot worse.

This is why I never turn Siri on. Because I know stupid shit like this will happen by accident. Well, technically not this but I always kept myself very low profile if the filling address is optional, I’ll not fill it in at all. (Part of it is also because I’m lazy.). I rarely pick up phone calls as well and only use messenger to talk with my family and Facebook is pretty much the only thing I have the address on but I think I never updated it. It still in SG, I think. But I’m back in my country now and I lived away from the city. Like very Far Away. No one can find me here. My communication line are Messenger and Discord and possibly Line if it is about Business.
Only person who can know my location is Governement. I rarely update even with my parents what I am doing half of the time too.

as a ex victim from a stalker case this genuinely angers me.
In my case it was with a date, the first date I was getting bad vibes, but me being a dumb horny male was like "well she's cute, ill give her a second chance" so we go on a second date and that was when I knew "okay this person is crazy". I politely ended things, but this proceeded in me being stalked for a whole year.
The worse thing is, there is almost nothing you can do about it until they make a violent crime. Baby Raindeer the netflix show displays it perfectly accurate on the legal side. In most western countries unless they engage in a genuinely violent action or threat, you the victim are left completely helpless. It almost gets to the point you WISH they would act on violence just so you can get legal proper help.

As a victim, all I can say is, if you get bad vibes during your first date, end things, you have every right to cut things off, you don't need to give explanations. Value your safety.
You can get a restraining order.
This is exactly why I am a strong proponent of "Stand Your Ground" and "Castle Doctrine".

Many content creators record a video first then records an ad separately and insert them later as the sponsorship comes, so sometimes an appropriate transition might be an afterthought.

There is no such thing as anonymity on the internet. It's merely a thinly-veiled mask that everyone pretends exists. Finding out someone's location is not that difficult even without tracking devices. Just by figuring out your IP address, your rough location (maybe 50km radius) can be traced, so trying to hide your city is kinda pointless, unless you take precautions, such as using a VPN. However, a VPN merely adds an other layer of security, as well as an other point of failure for security. In addition, there are countless other ways to track you regardless. You cannot stop someone who has the bare minimum of technical knowledge and is dedicated enough. Like a stalker.

apple has that too. seen it myself since the tracker at my dogs collar was registered to my dads phone and it warns you and gives you an option to ring it so you can disable it.
apple has it too, but its was prob a GPS/cellular tracker so smartphones couldn't detect it.
Apple as usually causing problem that never existed to be savior to solve it and give medal to themselves as usual.

But someone with malicious intent will use a tracker with its own simcard. No need to rely on any android/apple/ or whatever other device. There is always a way sadly.

The reason why the government doesn't do much against it is because they engage in it themselves. Edward Snowden revealed the PRISM mass surveillance system that all digitally stalks every single citizen.

Streaming sounds like a fun and chill time but stalkers are one of the reasons I will not show my actual face or live stream my locations. It's frustrating that people are saying the data says this is a growing trend. It's been an issue for centuries across multiple cultures/ communities/ countries. It's not a just a growing trend, it's a growing awareness to a long standing issue. The most infuriating thing about it, is it's a crime where you almost can never get help & protection from law enforcement until it's already steeply escalated. "Because no harm is being done" because no one wants to acknowledge the psychological harm this does to the victim. Stalkers absolutely ARE causing harm, just because it's not physical doesn't mean it isn't harmful.
Yeah, I think sadly this stuff has always been an issue but with the internet its more known about and a lot more is documented. I feel like because of this more people are willing to speak up about it too which makes it seem like it's happening way more than ever. I do think some issues are getting worse but like I don't think it's as crazy of an increase as people really think it is. And as someone who has gone through a sad amount of mental abuse, I argue that it's just as bad as physical if not sometimes worse depending on how severe it is. Unless the physical abuse has permanent negative effects, I think in the long run psychological harm ends up being a lot more dangerous especially since physical abuse also usually leads to very bad mental health issues as well. People don't like to take things seriously unless it gets physical which is stupid. Stalking should be taken way way wayyyy more seriously. They don't want to help until it's too late.
The technologies are getting more advance. stalkers now will have much easier way to stalk someone compare to the old times. So i think it's kinda true that the stalking situations are growing more in my opinion

@@NominDonutz I think the gathered data is too 'young' to be finding a "growing trend" They've only been solidly gathering data for a relatively short time to be saying there's a trend. Are they acknowledging the decades of reported cases that occurred before the study started? If so; multiply that because a lot more cases went unreported than reported decades ago (my own stalking situation wouldn't have been reported if my mom hadn't been home to witness me throw my computer in a panic. SHE called the cops on the situation, not me- the victim. I was too afraid of being told "we can't help you because they haven't hurt you" and I was fresh out of an abusive relationship with my stalker where he tried to strangle me. Yeah, he hadn't "done anything" alright. Cool. And that's exactly what I was told on the phone when we reported it. He hadn't hurt me >this time< so they couldn't do anything about it.)
The reality is, because they're just now doing the research on this sort of thing they're being blown away by the numbers. I'm sure in another 20 years the stalking numbers from now will be looked upon as a flat line rather than a growing line.

the moment you consider tiny trackers and how they could get into your home or nearby, there's just so many variables it's almost completely unavoidable!
If you expose yourself in public it's essentially unavoidable if someone really wants it to happen. I'm shocked there aren't more instances of this happening imo with how easy it's become.
Solution: do what filian does. Never go to any events, never show yourself, always use proxies (in as many forms as possible) for everything. Always. When can you go to events? Never. Kinda sucks if you are a content creator and you want that to happen, but it is what it is. They chose this path whether they wanted it or not. It comes with the territory sadly.

Because once a device is infected with no means to get rid of the infection (like an iPhone or a Mac being infected, or even a Windows machine with Defender turned off for that matter) the only way to disinfect it is to perform an immediate factory reset at minimum, and a complete reinstall using iTunes or similar if you don't want to pay some extra to get a completely new device.

Especially when it puts people at risk for serious victimization. My ex stalked me for months after I left him when I found out he assaulted a different ex of his (the victim didn't want to go to the police because male victims go through hell to be believed, but that didn't mean I wanted to stay with the douchebag who would do that to a person), and the cops wouldn't even file a report. Because he wasn't an "actionable threat". They need to make stalking a crime in and of itself.

No expectations or whatever, I just left a comment on his video saying he is entertaining and will make it big for sure, and that was it, I moved on, and he's super successful now.
These people build up expectations and unhealthy ideas of what they're to a content creator, 99 percent of the time, they don't know you, and won't feel uncomfortable with these creepy advances

Great video though there are a few things missing/incorrect to my knowledge. From what Camila said that I've heard they didn't try to break through her window, the loud banging was the sledgehammer against the garage door. as well as that the stream didn't just end after the noise started. she had muted her mic when she went to investigate then on the screen she had typed "there is someone trying to come in" then shortly after that the stream ended.
