I switched my 4 month Italian greyhound to raw thanks to this channel. He actually loves the organ meat (maybe because it's mushy like his puppy food), but he didn't know what to do with chunks of beef. That surprised me, but I tried your suggestion to lightly sear it, and now he'll eat it raw. Thank you so much for all your information 🥰
My cat is CRAZY about liver! It's always what she eats first! I have to fight her off when portioning it out for her meals haha She was a little weirded out initially by heart, but she eats it now without much fuss :) cutting it up into pieces helped introduce her to the new texture!
Mine wouldn't even chew if it's in meat or sausage. For some reason I gave him his joint supplements saying it's a treat now he think it's a treat and gets super excited when he hears the sound of the container. He's too trusting and would eat anything.
I actually found a raw diet kibble! The brand name is nature’s variety instinct the raw brand and it’s a pure raw diet kibble with no extra ingredients! And they have it for dogs and cats! (Beef version) The ingredients for dogs are: beef, beef liver, pumpkin seeds, beef spleen, carrots, apples, butternut squash, ground flaxseed, dried kelp, broccoli, apple cider vinegar, salmon oil, rosemary extract, blueberries, and dried chicory root. The use monomorillonite clay for shape, mixed tocopherols as a preservative, and freeze dry it. (Rabbit version)For cats the ingredients are: rabbit (including ground rabbit bone), pork, pork liver, pumpkin seeds, carrots, apples, butternut squash, rabbit liver, rabbit kidney, rabbit lung, dried kelp, broccoli, apple cider vinegar, salmon oil, rosemary extract, blueberries, and dried chicory root. The use monomorillonite clay for shape, mixed tocopherols as a preservative, and freeze dry it. And they have plenty of flavors too like beef, rabbit, pork, fish, etc… The point is I think you should definitely try this new stuff because it is amazing! The price for a small bag is about 15 dollars and the price for a large bag is about 30 dollars. .
What worked for my cats was mixing it with fish (canned or steamed to avoid thiaminase issues). I used to blend liver and other sec. Org. with canned sardines in the beggining, and now they're fine with smaller pieces mixed together, but you can try that with whatever they're favorite meats are! Good luck
Thanks for tips. I had instant success with raw lamb liver. I cut about 100g piece from totally frozen liver and my dog ate it and after it i could put it back to freezer again. Normally i have grinded it and used maybe 3x100g (he gets diarrhea if i give too much liver on single meal) within two days and the rest of liver i have cooked and put them back in freezer after cooking. Now i can give everything raw with this technique. :)
I had a picky organ eater.. Since then I just blend All the organs together & mix them with all the grounded meats I use. The dogs don't even notice it now
My puppies love Organ meat but it's so hard to find them where we are. The most we can do is liver and that's not always available. I was wondering what is an alternative to hold them over until I can get it
@lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll it's not feasible for where I live right now but we are moving down south so it will be feasible then.
@@Alteori Look for butcher shops & meat packing plants or local farmer's.. grocery stores typically at least have chicken & beef liver & beef hearts. I'm getting a kitten in a few days that I'm planning to switch to raw. Would whole prey mice and chicks with grinds be balanced or do I need to add anything extra?
Thanks for the tips!! Everyday i try to do everything you said, at the end of the day my dog eats all, a little bit cooked, mixed and cut into very small pieces 🤡😆
My dog LOVES organs haha. The only thing she's picky about is whole prey, she won't eat anything with feathers and will eat small chicks but only when frozen.
My dog vacuums everything.. I've been handfeeding her for a while and she still gobbles and doesn't chew anything.. any tips? :/ Also side note, I've been only using pork/beef kidney as my secreting organ, but I chanced upon frozen beef spleen at a nearby store, and got super excited.. so she'll be getting more secreting organ variety soon! :D
Only thing I really worry about them chewing is bones .. I've got a few dogs though that just inhale all their food lol so I just use birds as my main meaty bones source. Chicken bones are real thin. So, even if a dog swallows them, their stomachs will still break the bone down just fine!
@@SHAOLINSLUMSS So the slow feeder doesn't really help because she'll just swallow any piece I give her or she gets.. that's why I hand feed one piece at a time! Even holding the bones forcing her to chew them. But still, if she rips off a piece from me it's gone, no chewing haha
not sure if this is off topic, but does blood count as an organ? muscle? or? is there any benefit in adding blood to the diet? i’m talking about the jello-like blood cubes found in asian supermarkets
My guy won't eat anything that is ground up. He will pick it out and throw it on the floor. He also doesn't like frozen and is to smart if I try to cover something up. I just grind everything and he is fine.
My cat is pregnant, do i still feed her the same raw meat? because shes going to need more then normal what should I include? And will the kittens be okay with the diet?
Unfortunately, I don’t know the answer to the first question, but I can answer the second one. Yes, kittens can be transitioned onto the raw diet as soon as they start moving onto solid foods like you do with kibble. It’s actually better this way since you’re transitioning them to different tastes and textures at an early age. :)
Hi. I have a 5 months pup and I want to change her diet to raw feed. I live in india where we people see beef as holy animal and we don't often get pork here. All I can get is some fish, chicken and duck. So what should I be doing ? And where should I start ? Right now I'm feeling her orijen . How to start feeding her raw ? Or how to introduce raw feed to my girl ?

Yeah my dogs and cats were just ON that organ meat. I was ready to do all this transition and they just ate everything without hesitation LOL. My dog went directly from kibble to raw without issue. And my cats from wet to raw with a bit of protest for a few proteins
Thankfully my dog would eat anything and he goes crazy over organ meat for some reason. Stray cats around here also love organ meat.
