Alright guys, this is extremely IMPORTANT*** when unscrewing the second screw(tiny one), it comes with the spacer given right underneath, make sure to put that spacer on first before you screw the ssd down***** was not shown in this video but just a heads up fellas🤙🏼
You're the man! Thanks boss
I think he did show it
I just followed your instructions and installed the SSD myself. Your guidance and instruction was easy to follow, simple, and very efficient! Took me five minutes with your help. Thanks!
I followed these instructions my wang was inserted in my toaster
Does it delete anything?
No it doesn’t
Make sure that the drive + heat sink you select will fit under the drive bay cover (assuming you are wanting to put the cover back on) as some heat sinks can be quite tall. Sony have listed the full specs on their website
Did he show how to install heatsink in video?
I think it’s 22mm in width. Which SSd did you get? I’m still deciding between a 1Tb or 2. Not sure on the brand either
@@davidsalas1561 he did not
That drive is designed to be heatsink as well you don’t have to get a separate one.
@@davidsalas1561 the ssd had a built in heatsink
i dont have a ps5 but its always nice to hang out with pc centric 😁
Your presentation and overall delivery on the step by step processes of this video are insanely well done my friend. I came here for a simple tutorial on how to install my new internal hard drive, and I finished with not only a sense of enlightenment on this process, but a deep appreciation for your presentation and amount of care you put into this. Very well done. Your hand/arm motions along with your varying excitement really bring the subject matter of this video to a special place I didn't think I'd visit. Wonderful job. I feel like a new man all over again
Love how the internal screw that holds down the SSD came out so easily. I almost stripped mine trying to get it out. Used the correct size Phillips, but the screw was so cheap and felt like it was loctited on.
This same thing happened to me it was the only problem i had doing this i had to try five micro phillips finally found one that worked i was starting to worry a lil bit.
I don’t even see a screw??
bro mine is completely f*cked. I ordered new screws and I cant get the original out😅
Same @@MrStipjes
@@MrStipjes Same, the SSD screw strips easily, a common problem apparently. Wish this video said something about that.
Thank you, really helpful video. I will be upgrading my PS5 straight away now I know it’s this easy 😊
The price is the real gatekeeper
@@xavier9183 Why?
EDIT: Holy crap... That's 50% of the PS5 $
@@Spidr-Man yeah it’s wild.. I mean it’s great technology and it’s not like PlayStation is ripping you off… but geez :/
What screwdriver u need
I don’t have a PS5, so this isn’t exactly useful to me at the moment, but if I ever am in a situation like this, ik where to go👍🏾. Even if I’m not ever in a situation like this, I could teach someone who is. Thanks Marcus😄
Agreed
Why do I feel like you commented just to hear yourself type on the keyboard.....
@@jasonmonjaras6778 I completely agree just feels like he wasted his time typing 😂😂
00
Don’t give up shadow u get one soon find target and always watch they store stock
Just bought one of these yesterday on Amazon for 119 for a black Friday sale and honestly I am happy because I’ve been waiting for them to go down in price
Thanks
Thank you for this video! You made it ways and straight to the point. Picked this up today as a DYI since I was tired of always deleting and reinstalling games
Quick and simple guide, for taking panels off I had to use different guide which shows in one simple move how to do it safe as I was afraid to use any strength 😀
Big thanks for this tutorial video. Followed your instructions and all went well! 1TB extra on my Ps5 👍👍👍
My ps5 randomly shuts off after doing this…does yours??
@@Samantharyan138 no, works fine.
Thank you very much. Great tutorial for someone who was a little intimidated by taking apart my PS5. There is another video that explains how to remove the cover by lifting a corner and sliding back. That technique worked better for me. Other than that one small detail, your video was very helpful. Cheers.
Thank you, worked so much easier, I thought I was going to snap it the way he said it, where as it came off with ease the way you suggested
Glad I found your comment first cuz I was about to do the exact same thing. Felt like I was gonna break something so I came to the comments to see if anyone had a better way to get the panel off😅
Thank you!! Just bought the 2tb 980 today and your video showed me how to install. 🙏
Just picked a 980 pro up today. I will install it after work tonight. Thank you for the video.
Thank you so much. When I realized that I was going to have to open up my ps5 I got so scared. This helped so much and simplified everything. Thank you!!! 😁😁
I got my 980 on sale on amazon, $170AUD, bargain price, just got it today and had to install.
Your tutorial was very straightforward, I'm gonna install after lunch, much thanks.👍
Did you ever install, How do you feel about it??
@@fearlezz365 So simple, took me about 5 minutes all up, restarted the console and another few minutes to get it ready, and I'm getting about 6.5/7k speeds out of it, I only have one game on it, GTA5 but it seems to run fine, no issues thus far.
@@dallasgrant 1tb or 2tb
@@xxXAZNTsukasaAZNXxx 1Tb, on sale for 168aud, I would have gone for the 2Tb but it didn't seem worth it for me personally.
@@dallasgrant hella good price :D
Step 1: own a ps5........dammit
Keep up the great work in these times! Even with the recent move you're still dropping some fantastic content!
exactly. so we'll have to wait. in the meantime, i installed a 870 EVO in my pro today. guess that's the best i can do until i can find a digital ps5
Thanks 2, years later and still made it possible for me to add this to my PS5.. Video was 99% there. Just had to figure out screwing it down hahahahaha
Great tutorial. Just a heads up!!! No need to PRY back on the cover, you will break the brackets. It simply slides up with a little force.
Thinking about upgrading my PS5
You genuinely made this so simple. Thanks for the video.
I thought i installed it wrong because i seen some other videos that would say 4TB on console space as if the SSD and the HDD was acting as one if you know what i mean but this is perfect. Thank you. Subbed
Thank you for actually doing it on a TV which probably most of us use when it comes to a PS5.
I put the 2tb 980 pro in my PS5, it works so nice. It is a very easy install, not too hard.
How’s the ssd working for you so far? Does your ssd over heat or anything? Cause I’ve been thinking about getting one
@@jacobsorola9580 I have not seen any problems, my games run smooth on it.
@@cb7873 it's been a year. Still running smooth? No issues? Just wondering because I'm about to install this same ssd and have heard kinda mixed reviews
@@anothergamingchannel2656 how has it been
Very informative, followed instructions and it worked out great!
Thank you so much! I successfully added the extra storage to my boy’s PS5. Great instructions.
you make it look realistic for the people that have the same size arm as yours
Big fan
I might get a pc and you convinced me into getting one
This man’s lucky, I’ve been trying so hard to get a ps5 and no luck
It's not hard. Either pay extra for a Ebay one or sign up stock alerts in your area. I have my PS5 already, and had 10 stock alerts again last week to get one at retail price.
@@hanzobi1926 Well maybe it is just easy to get a PS5 in the country that you live in. I was able to get a PS5 as well, but I was only able to get 1 and I was very very lucky with getting one 7 months after launch.
I just today managed to buy a 2tb Samsung 980 Pro with heatsink for $120. Lucky buy considering these usually cost much more.
Thanks! I just did it and it was so easy! Looks was way harder thinking about it that just doing it!
You’re a bloody legend, thank you. Mine is installed and reporting speeds of 6500 MB/s. Very happy with it.
Did you update it to reach the 6500, or it was out of the box.
My concern is because i dont own a pc or a laptop,
@@TJ.1 I didn’t update it, it did 6500 out of the box. Which is great because I don’t have a way to update firmware on it.
@@jesseallen4184 thanks.
Samsung must have installed the newest firmware on the drives. Which is great news :)@@jesseallen4184
This the best video so far to add the drive thanks
Where do I order or find the screwdriver to unscrew the ssd screw..I no it's a dumb question..🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️
Make sure you put the ssd cover back on if you can or you get worse temps.
Airflow from the fan is designed with the cover in place or a custom heatsink blocking the entire hole.
Just ordered mine with heat sink. Super excited!
I was mad about how hard it was to buy a ps5, so I decided to buy a pc. Your channel helped me learn everything I need to know about pcs. I finally had a chance to get a ps5 and I look up a videonon the ssd, so of course I'm going to use your video over anyone else
I want a PC but I get lost in all of them don't know which one too buy I want one that I can upgrade in the future if need be also I'm will too spend 1500$
@@JrRosales100 check out this guy's channel. He will teach you everything you need to know. I didn't know anything about computers, I watched a lot of his videos and learned everything I needed to know. It can be confusing at first but you just have to keep watching and learning. @@JrRosales100 if you look at his Playlists he has one called "PC gaming explained" that's where you'll find the videos you need
Thx from Germany for a Perfect Video 😀
Dosent this void your manufacturers warranty?
Squee! Great video. Your an alright bloke
Thanks mate I take right now this ssd for my ps5 digital ❤️🤝
cheers for the guide mate, helped a ton!
I just bought the exact same one and doing this when it comes in. CANT WAIT!!!
Good luck getting it off I can't figure it out!
Thanks for the help. Installed and transferred all my games (534 GB) to it all in under 30 minutes! Excellent video!
Why would u transfer all ur games to it instead of leaving them in the internal first ssd?
Great video!
Just got this bad boy installed and formatted in about 5mins!
💌
Brilliant tutorial, simple info. Bread and butter. Nice one 👍
Awesome video I really thought it was more complicated to install.
Should I get one with a Heatsink or just a usual one?
Great video! Super easy to follow step by step. Got my SSD installed in no time. Thank you
I have a Snap On #1 Phillips screw driver. So the screws don’t get stripped out.
This is a great video.
Concise, informative, good camera angles, and no fluff or hype. Thank you.
only thing he didnt mention is placing the spacer underneath the heat sink and screwing it on top. but great vid.
Always make useful and cool videos keep it going!
You maid an awesome guide 😁😁
Just installed! Great vid now i can play the new mw2 when it comes out😁
Looks easy enough will give that a go. Please please can you do one of Ur great builds for a decent VR setup geared around MSFS
Thank you very much actually so yeah to his channel he’s a really good person
Ordered the drive at your recommendation and just installed as per your instructions and all went great. Thanks so much!
We're did you order the drive from?
Just remember to update it to unlock the full speed
@@Setho666 how do you update it? I’m planning on doing this
@@BurgoYT Install samsung magician software on your computer. Plug the SSD in to an NVME slot on a computer (whilst the computer is off. An nvme adapter won't work in my experience. The install takes like 30 seconds. After that. Turn of your computer and re-install it in the ps5. I moved all my games away from the ssd before doing this but I've read that you also could update the ssd without loosing any data
@@Setho666 oh nice thanks
Just finishing watching your video it was helpful just hard opening the cover it is tricky
everything is cool now
Thank you, thank you good sir... Hardest part was getting that stupid cover off!
Helped me out thanks! very easy to follow along
I just upgraded mine 4 days ago with a 1TB NVME drive. I use stock internal and M.2 for PS5 installs and a 4TB external for my collection of PS4 titles.
I also upgraded mine with a 4TB external drive, as well as a 4TB internal SSD.
Same thing I'm doing as I alrdy have a wd 4tb used for PS4 but like new so using that to house my PS4 titles n my new 4tb internal for only ps5
2:07 I was like wtf! He's doing the bend test 🤣. Did u not watch a RUclips tutorial on how easy it is to slide it off instead of ripping it
Thank you for this video clear an right to the point. Getting the exact same SSD this week for my ps5 definitely will come back to this video
Thanks! I just got this exact ssd card today and with this guide I was able to get it installed within minutes! Luckily I accidentally knocked the cover to my ps5 off a few weeks ago, so I knew how to get if off easier than it was for you 😂
Thanks for the advice, installed no problem.
Thank you so much picked up mine today.
Easy and simple to follow. Thanks.
I wish I could get a replacement screw. The one included with the PS5 is so cheap that it stripped at the first turn. It took over an hour and serveral tools to get it out, and then I had to loosely reuse it, because nothing else fits. Good thing the heatsink is big enough to keep the SSD from moving.
PC centric I like your content. I think you should make detailed videos on how to change each component of a PC for people like me that are too scared to change even the fans. Keep up the good work 👏 💪
Amazing content and delivery men, well done and thanks for the info!
Thnx man. this is all i needed
I don’t have a PS5, but I still enjoyed watching this vid 😁👍🏻
Really helpful video 👍🏽
Great video buddy 👍
this was so helpful, thank you
Thank you for the video. Only thing I would warn would be to please take your cover off different from the video. I almost snapped the teeth off of my cover along with the slots the teeth fit into on the opposite side of the ps5 logo. If you simply lightly tap on the to of the ps5 cover with the palm of your hand, you will avoid all potential for damage being done. Hopefully this helps someone. I was almost devastated and I just bought the thing 😭😅
Fantastic video!
Just got one on Amazon for 99bucks reg200+what a steal now,
I can have all my ps5 games and more on the ssd sheesh.
I watched this just to double check which way to unscrew the door and he did it wrong. Check at 2:36 , he screws clockwise, but to get the thing off I had to screw counter clockwise.
The most affordable option that meets playstation specs and comes with heatsink out of the box is Adata XPG Gammix S70 blade 1tb is now on sale for $129.99 while 2tb is on sale for only $249.99 and a 512gb option can also be had for just $89.99.
Well on Black Friday I was able to get the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus 4TB for only £560, plus £10 extra for a heatsink. That is quite good considering that most compatible SSDs do not have a 4TB option.
@@shyamal903 Every price that I've mentioned has been for America and again here in America the best 4tb SSD option based on price that comes with heatsink out the box is the Addlink Addgame A92 and it can normally be had for about $550.
I think the reason sony put this restriction to avoid complaints from people who dont undarstand the concept that iff you use slower ssd you will have slitly lower preformens
Which tv 📺 is on …….PC Centric ?
Great vid. I did upgrade my physical drive version but I have one upstairs which is digital only. I want to upgrade that one to ssd. I realise your video is 2 years old. Which drive do you recommend I buy now? The same or a different one? Ty
Thanks. This'll come in handy when I eventually get one for my PS5.
The newer PS5(2024) has two covers. You need to take off the smaller cover on the left.
I forgot I have the disk version. That would be be the reason for the split covers, I imagine.
First is find one in a store that hasn't bumped the price up.
Thank you so much bro very helpful
Great vid, cheers!
When you broke that clip, it made me laugh so hard. I don't know why.
All the video make it seem easy, and tbh its not hard, but not as easy as they make it look (worst case break a clip though, no biggie)
Perfect explanation thanks
youre video helped me get my new ssd installed thank you very much! my one little complaint would be to zoom in on some of the finer stuff like when it came to installing the spacer and screw to hold in the ssd and when you inserted the ssd
Can you do an Xbox Series S next?
The Xbox Serie S upgrade is terribly simple. You just plug it in the back of the rig. To simple for words :-).
Very good video!! Thanks!!
Great informative video. You got yourself another sub.
Now I’m going to upgrade my ps5. Pc centric made it fun and easy!
I bought that ssd, can I add a heatsink to a already heatsink ssd
Well I do have a ps5 and quite honestly had no idea you could enhance storage ! This is perfect because I'm constantly deleting and reinstalling games to make room whenever I get a new game or want to play an older game. Thanks!
It would be helpful if you could walk us through a detailed tutorial on how to clean the unit because it's dusty.
Get a vacuum and use compress air and vacuum the dust out better than taking the whole fan apart
Thank you for an awesome tutorial!
