I was like “ok this might be a good thing to get” then I saw the price and carried on 😂
you can buy a cheaper SSD and a heat sink for $15 (15 for the heat sink, not all together)
Ask for it for Christmas bro
Saw this comment and didn’t even bother to finish the vid
Same here I just plugged in my old extended one and humbled myself.
Im copping for sure
By far the best ps5 ssd installation video. Love the zoom in’s when you remove the screws and washer.
Just bought the SSD 2TB (£200) and did exactly what you said in the video - works perfectly -- many many thanks - and Happy New Year from Surrey U.K. - you da man 😎
Well, I just took the leap and purchased the PS5, I was told to upgrade the SSD because I was going to run through the memory very quickly, I saw this video and hell yes, I just ordered this from Amazon, It was $399.99 and after I used all my rewards that Ive been saving I ended paying out of pocket $38.19. I saw this video since im not computer or game savvy but I saw how to install, It was a 10min install once everything was done. Glad these video's are out there for people like me that doesn't know much about electronics. Im now a subscriber and I'll be watching more videos to see what else I can learn. Thanks...
I am still trying to find PS5 🥲🥲 wanted for Christmas but ever place have it sold out..
And reseller selling for almost double price.
Im going to get my self one next Pay...

Well done on this video! Certainly one of the best end to end explanations of how to expand your PS5 system storage. Thanks!
Apart from my shock at the price of this product, I really found this video very helpful, this guy literally explained everything perfectly. 👏🏼
300 its not that bad thats not overly expensive
@@kegsterrr6071 maybe for you lad but for me that is a lot of money, you might aswel buy me one 🤣🤣
@@kegsterrr6071 350$ but is dropped down from 450$ for 2TB is a lot of money cause we be poor.
I got a tb on Amazon for 138 with heat sink
over thanksgiving / cyber monday - the 2tb of this drive with heatsink was down to $189 .. a freaking steal.
Great job, man! You gave the best instructions of removing the case off. Great video!
Great video, I see why they sent you their product, congratulations man
Excellent video, liked and subscribed !! I cant believe how fast the storage filled up on my PS5 !
Thanks for going in detail with this review. Extremely helpful.
Thanks for this video man I finally caved in and got a SSD today so this video really came in handy 🙏🏾
Bro you are a life saver!! I just got mine and installed. The only thing the covers is a little rough and I broke the the cover
Excellent video sir! Appreciate the assistance with this.
Thanks, brova. Just installed. Was trying to be careful like a surgeon!
Picked up a 2tb 980 pro for $100 bucks, followed your tutorial, moved 287gb in 4 minutes!! 💪🏾😤💪🏾
Yo thank you so much, I have this specific ssd and was wondering and hesitant to add it. Thank you
Thanks for explaining how to take the cover off... other videos I watched make it look like they broke a piece and I definitely don't want to break anything on this. Great video!
Great easy to follow video, thanks bro 👍🏼
Thank you so much for the video .. even tho I already upgraded my memory on my PS5, but was missing the transferring of games part
Thank you my brother, you're the best!! Greatly appreciate it!! I'm ordering this NOW!!
If I buy a friend one of these, they're going to give me more than a hug.
First time watching one of ur vids. Great explanation and fun to
Got a 1tb wd 850 black since the update came out and it's working great!
December 2023 and this has been the most helpful video I’ve seen….👍
Thank u so much for showing me how to install. I'm 42 and don't know a thing about adding "equipment" to game systems. You made it very simple and smooth.
I recently purchased a WD-Black 1tb and am very happy.
Thanks again
Remember. Never turn your system off without manually turning off your hard drive inside the Ps5 storage settings. Your hard drive will break. I’m currently going through that problem.
@@ThahitmanTyrie not true
@@Jarboe420 I’m going through it now.
@@ThahitmanTyrie how manually turn it off? never heard that

Thanks for the video you really made it simple 👍🏾
Great well-explained videp. Thank you!
Explained it perfect bro! Keen to get mine soon.
Just install mine, thanks for your help!
Perfect video! Thanks so much🤙🏽
Quality videos mate. Am based in Knottingley England and you just gained a subscriber.
Appreciate that and glad you like the video. 👍🏽
Thank you for letting us know, cheers.
Subbed! You made this so easy
Awesome video it explains alot I know now what I have to do.
Nice video SKB!
very good guide, thank you man
The 1tb version is £99 at the moment in the UK so thought I would give it a go.
Thanks for the installation help!
Best installing vid well done 👍👍
I went with the 1TB version. Thank you for this video 👏🏼
Did that make your ps5 2tb? Dumb question but just want to make sure
How's that working on yours ps5?
@@nixkix8119 technically, it should. The only “if” is that once the PS5 storage is full, you would have to switch where your games are saved, over to the SSD card. Or viceversa.
Awesome video ❤
Thanks alot dawg! 👍🏿
Excellent tutorial!
Good stuff man thank you
this is as perfect a tutorial as there is
Great video. Thank you.
Nice and Simple instructional video Bud 👍 , P.S. i have the same Oled TV like yours , it's awesome 🤘
Thanks for the video 😀
Great video.!
Great helpful informative tip👍🏾 I enjoyed the knowledge you shared with your video. I do have a question. I purchased this same SSD. I bought in April, of this year. I contacted Samsung directly to see if I would need to update it with the latest firmware. The representative I spoke with said it might already be updated since the model I have was made in December of last year. The purpose of the update is to maximize the speeds...so what do you suggest?
I'm glad they went back to easy installation. The ps4 was a hassle. Only because you had to go online, download a current patch to a thumb drive etc etc.
I got the non-heatsink version, but got the Sebrent ps5 designed heatsink. Reason being, most heatsinks are not designed with the ps5 cooling method in mind, which doesn't cool with air flow across the top of the drive where the heatsink is. The Sabrent heatsink takes the place of the top cover with the heatsink part still attaching to the drive. In theory this takes better advantage of the ps5 cooling method.
Does this help lagging at all on ps5
@@collinfreitas5313 shouldn't be any lagging to begin with. If the expansion drive isn't being cooled efficiently enough, it might cause thermal throttling. I haven't experienced this yet.
the PS5 has a negative cooling system so if u dont attach the default ssd cover after installing a new ssd your shit wont cool down efficiently
@@coachprab2379 that's what the Sabrent was designed for. It is the same size and shape as the default cover, but because it incorporates the attached heatsink, it pulls the heat to the top of the cover where there is more airflow from the fan.
@@GREENneonDRIVER thank you so much for the insight I had my internet provider out it was the transmitters up in the pole messing my wifi up was never the ps5 .. you the man! Keep up the work
Thank you for showing how to move games off of local storage to the SSD. The UI for that isn't particularly clear, so I appreciate the help.
Thanks, that was easy
Perfect thank you sir
Thanks for this vid
Great video thanks have you done a video on external storage of PS 4 games for use on PS5
Спасибо за подробную инструкцию) Ты снимаешь крутые видео👍👍👍
I have to get one of these. I bought my ps5 headphone 🎧 up next is one of these💥
I'm keen to get this extended storage...I need it for this year lmao so may bangers came out or are about to.
What a wonderful man God bless you
Nice job bro
thanks youuuu!!!🥰
Worth every dime
Good information
The best "PS5 Ready" choice based on price is the Adata Gammix XPG S70 Blade for 1tb I paid $129.99 a piece so I got 2 of them.
Thanks for the info man, i had to delete several games just to redownload COD Black Ops Cold War just so that I could play Online with my cuz and that was a hassle especially with that games notoriously massive downloads and updates. Your not left with much on your base ssd because of this game
thanks legend!
Thanks 🎉
You’re the best thank you
I did this to my ps5 and dont regret it
Thanks. I installed the 2TB Samsung 980 pro myself. I was gonna take to a place that does stuff like this but it would have cost me $110.
I just got mine yesterday for 99$ thank you Prime Days!
Good idea until you see the price! 👌Easy to be happy when you are sponsored. 😎
I agree.
@@MrSammy76 you too
Hopefully picking this up for the new slim ps5
I just ordered one the same but 1TB because of Black Friday Sale / Cyber Monday .. I have like 100 GB or less on custom internal storage and I have about 3-4 games imagine .. it's because of huge updates and seasons each game like Warzone , Call Of duty in general .. I have All the big AAA games .. the updates DLC's and support would full the storage eventually even if you install one game alone. I really wanted 2TB but it's extremely expensive + no sale for it or discount .. 1TB would do me at least for a year of storage.
I saved your video for reference for installation later and it will arrive for me after two weeks.
I just ordered the 1tb one too on a cyber Monday deal
Damn good video
I'm waiting for Black Friday deals. I don't understand why Sony thought 825GB storage is right. 1TB would be reasonable even though it's not enough.
To be honest that’s not enough… Think about 2-4yrs from now you’re probably going to have a massive collection of games, 175GB more gets you 1TB, ok the OS takes up a good chunk of that, plus games liKe COD, GoW, etc… Requires more space… All I’m saying is prepare yourself for down the road gaming…
@@rahrah2235 Yes 1TB is still not enough but you have to look at the business side. Sony + Microsoft wouldn't put 4TB storage straightaway.
Yeah consumers would’ve been paying $1500+ or more if they slapped a 4TB puppy in that thang & of course you might as well build your on PC for that type of pricing…
It is 1 TB duh
@@rahrah2235 Exactly! That’s why there’s expandable storage.

Great video for all of the 50 people who owns a PS5, most are in scalpers hands
the real OG has spoken
This is a great tutorial. Knowing I don't have a PS5 😭
thx u very much
Is there still a need to upgrade the SSD driver ?? Or is it plug and play now
You have super cool games 😎
Hey soldier, just in case you didn’t know, tha 980 pro needs a firmware update which is available now so you can get the full speed, around 6500mbps on the ps5 👍
Thanks for pointing that out!
How do you update the firmware? On it kinda of new to this
@@GrizzlyGamer0 just connect it to your pc by cable, then update it
Yeah my 1tb is 6500 for read speed WD SN850 for less the price at 165.00 plus 14.99 for heatsink
I don't get why anyone wants to push it past the 5800mbps that it comes with. It's only a few seconds, plus the harder it runs kills the drive faster.
Hey there. Great video, was helpful installing my 980 pro. My read speed was the same as yours, 5701... I saw a video for the WD 850 that read at 6500. Would you know why the difference? Thanks!
You need to upgrade the firmare on the 980 pro via pc or an external ssd slot. The 980 pro is older and some shipments come with dated drives that dont have updated firmware. Youll get comparable speeds after updating
Which TV would you recommend for the console or that you use?
The sabrent heat sink is probably best one to use. It repalces the metal one. a 2-1 cover and heat sink..
Can you post the link to it?
I just put a 1tb Firecuda in my ps5. Loving the extra space.
Bro this is perfect, I already got the Samsung T7 2TB just for PS4 games that’s compatible on the PS5 that I store… Now I really got the juice with this Samsung 980 Pro 2TB… THIS IS PERFECT FOR SEAMLESS SWITCHING FROM GAME TO GAME , if you got the disc base PlayStation like I did…
So is this basically a mini external drive?
@@sorabove Nope.!!! The Samsung 980 Pro is an internal memory card basically… The Samsung T7 is an external memory card… 😂 Both SSD & super ridiculous fast…
I need your help I’m I don’t have a #1 Phillips screwdriver I was wondering where did you get your #1 Phillips screwdriver from? Any keep up the great work
Is there a difference in read and write speed on 1TB or 2TB ?
Dope. Now I just need a PS5.
Hopefully companies make more 4TB and a drop in price of the current 4TB ones.
That 4TB is a whole rent payment for me lol
That’s not happening anytime soon, cheap ssd will probably be a lousy one … plus 2 tbs is more than enough … just get a larger external so you can just move games back in forth if you really do not want to delete games
@@xbigdaddysenpai8922 that’s not how this works. The purpose of a larger than 2 TB is for future proof. I have over 20 PS5 games and about 10 that’s been upgraded for the PS5. Those can not be moved to a external which I do have as well.
@@philjon why can’t you move your ps5 games … I can move mine to my external without a problem … I have a 2tb ssd but before that I’d have all my ps5 games on my external until I needed to use em
Cool Tech.....Is it compatible on other consoles?
i love how you are tutorial-ing and have a bubble with you chatting. shows expression on ho you teach to do things.lol
Hi Thx for the video, I recently added an extra 1tb external drive to my ps5 so I now get nearly 2 tb with the original ps5 internal ssd, Question? does this ssd 1tb card you have add another tb to the ps5 or are you replacing the original ps5 ssd to just get a little more storage? last night we had 2 power outages here in the UK it was milli seconds and everything electrical went off including my ps5, today I go on it and the external storage will not work or format now, so my thoughts are to expand internally if this is what this video is all about.
i use a UPS power surge to protect all my electrical equipment PS5 then your outages would have made no difference to external drive would have been protected also.its a good investment APC make them.
Thanks for the video! I noticed my Samsung Pro with heatsink sticks up a little bit at an angle when inserted. It still lines up perfectly with the spacer but I had to slightly hold the SSD down while finishing up tightening the screw. Is that normal?
Yes that is normal.
I definitely just bought the same one to do the same upgrade I’m tired of having to delete games
Also should have your ps5 on its stand even if its on its side, because it will affect the disc drive being at a slight angle.
I'm super surprised on how easy they made this
right, takes no more than 2 minutes.
Why would they make it difficult? The second you open your console you automatically void the warranty, so they don't give a shit. If you fry the thing, you'll just buy a new one, so they win either way.
