    Interesting release. I had mentally sold myself on a Bloom as next pickup as I am looking for a new compressor but this is cool too. A comparison video would be sweet

    I love this pedal! I have two Jackson Audio compressors on two different boards - Bloom v2 and the Blossom. The hourglass will replace my Blossom. Their compressors sound great. They don’t suck my tone at all. The Hourglass is no exception. A dual compressor is a very useful pedal. The toggle switches help to tweak your tone. The Hourglass sounds very transparent . Personally I like to keep my compressors always on. Now with the hourglass I can boost the signal and still retain my tones. I play through a Fender twin reverb ‘65 RI and a Fender Princeton. I always set the amps clean. The Hourglass maintains those beautiful Fender clean tones and even sweetens the tone. I own now 10 Jackson Audio pedals. I’m certain that number will grow.

    I might be the first to guess what the new pedal was on the 5th. I had a feeling it was either a compressor or a delay and went with the compressor. The dual comp makes a lot of sense btw, please demo the effect of the Treble especially while playing lead or R&B style chords. You can in theory use this as a treble boost - a feature the Golden Boy has as well.

    I love and use your pedals. Please make an analog flanger. I used to love my Hartman based on the same chip as the new wave but it was stolen ftom me. I'm super picky on flanger. I know your flanger would be the ultimate musical flanger. We don't need jet flange. We need slow, transparent sweet swishy goodness.

    Debating between the Hour Glass and Origin Effects Slide Rig, which is much more $$. Besides being more affordable, what features/benefits would make this a better choice?

    Very interesting. I'm running a Bloom first in my chain and a Cali 76 after my drives with a slow release time. The Cali introduces a lot of noice so I am very interested in this. On another note, Mikes a great player but is there a latency issue 2:50 on with the track and the lead?

    how do y’all like it compared to the bloom? i love the bloom and use it with midi but the midi isn’t too useful for me since you can’t program the levels. i basically just use the country mode for all genres (the slide mode sounded a bit muddy to me though i haven’t tried adjusting the internal trimmer) I love the eq and boost on it but with the cba automatone, they’re a bit redundant for me. For the Bloom I love the transparency and how it subtly lifts everything and is great for finger and hybrid picking but also would love something you could get more sustain on like the wampler ego. i do love with the bloom that you can program it off or on with midi but think I could live without that feature.

      The Bloom/Blossom is fantastic for transparent compression. This is a little more pulsing/aggressive compression. Great for the styles in the video though.

    Better than UAFX Max? So, I think YEAH👍. Why? Because it's full analog.

    Add in a Built in Side Chain 4 band Parametric EQ and a Rotary MODE switch to get different types of analog studio compressors Mode#1 1176, MODE#2 LA2A, etc you can fit in all in that same pedal housing enclosure

      Honestly, it already has more going on than most of us will use. It sounds good to me doing what it does.

    Do you make one for Bass Guitar?

      I'm also wondering if they've considered anything for bass. A Bloom or Blossom might be better suited for bass, though.

    It sounds great... it's just $100 more than I'd be willing to spend. 😢 Maybe I'm naive, and it really cost a lot to build, but I don't know, it's hard for me to justify spending $300 on a compressor.

      Well considering it’s two compressors….we were hoping people would see it as a value.

      It's made in the USA with quality parts in a quality housing, and has a ton of features you can't find anywhere else. It really does seem fairly priced, especially when you compare it to other US brands that aren't just stuffing Chinese boards into Chinese project boxes. Everything I've seen from Jackson is a cut above.

    Isnt this their 3rd or 4th compressor?

    • @JacksonAudio
      @JacksonAudio  Год назад +7

      It's our 3rd. First, we did the BLOOM optical compressor, then the BLOSSOM, which was a stripped-down version of the BLOOM and now we are releasing the HOURGLASS, which is our first OTA (think Ross Style) dual compressor. There are lots of flavors of compression and each has its own use. Our compressors happen to be our best-selling products, so it seems that people enjoy them!
