- Here is one of several tracks from Studio Jams Episode #53, taped "On The Road" at Subcat Studios in Syracuse, New York. It features, among others, bassist Gerald Veasley, saxophonist Andrew Neu and, from Syracuse, drummer Dave Hanlon and saxophonist Evan Knight. For more on the series, go to www.StudioJams.com.
I love how it's not just one groove straight through, but that they're conscious of putting different sections to help transition solos and to move the song along dynamically.
Andrew Neu is straight gifted/dedicated sounding. Inspiring player. Love the guitar player Wendell too.
Nothing quite like hearing some of your favorite musicians playing together
I know right
when the song starts, I think it's at 108 BPM
These guys are grooving hard! Took some time for them all to get comfortable, but they sure got there! Right during the alto solo I think.
Funking awesome. Lifting Andrew's tenor lines for my own left right and centre - also from ain't no stopping us- another jam. Picking up stuff from players like this is worth a thousand scales and longtones. Ugghh! Thanks chaps.
I like Evan Knight's variations...very cool.
ive listened to this like 6 times in the last two days lmao, too good
I love studio jams
Undisputable! Masters of the arts!
j aime beaucoup c est un plaisir de les voir et de les entendre extra

This is my favorite video of ALL TIME. Thanks for this.
is it just me who enjoys the pre jam talk more than the jam
robert bromley its nice, the bass player seems like a fun guy
Lol I wrote this 7 months ago and thought the exact same thing now
I've enjoyed both
Yeah....the pre-talk (setup) is really DOPE. I dig it too Robert. By the way, that's a great first name you've got there!!
Veasley is so damn good!
Funk is always good.
I love how much they love what they do!
this is so groovy, loved the sax solo!!!
Wish I could be in the studio with you guys just listening and watching you play
Real musicians!
The best of the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jesus that solo at around 8:52 almost made me fucking cry of ecstasy
Ahhfunky ; could hear a swing change in the sax solo😜in my mind. Superb guys😎
(The first sax solo)😁
That was a fr*gging awesome jam! All musicians were great, but I especially enjoyed Evan Knight's solo. So much feeeeel!
Great stuff solid groove
Que du bonheur de voir des musiciens en enregistrement 👍👊😉
Driving to the Outside! Gotta Love It!
Nice funk mode. I’m loving this jam👊🏽🎷
I'm thinking: instead of the 🎹 playing most of the harmony/solo, that should be done on a Hammond B3 Organ (like the one Joey DeFrancesco plays)
Gerald is THE MAN. Love his groves!
AWESEM!STUDIO JAMS"MY DEAR FREIND

This is my 3rd comment, lol but you guys should release some actual hard stuff, with originals like this as well as standards, ive never seen a bad musician on one of these videos and you even got Bela who i was lucky enough to see live a couple months ago, but really, i would buy this all day, amazing stuff

up
I just funked up my pants
More Salt-City Love. I love it.
is it me or the mr wendell on the guitar was being extra humble?
Классно всё таки исполнили )
I'm guessing the recorded sound is DI from the bass/amp, he plays a 115 on this video which means he must have had plenty of low end in that room...but that doesn't say a thing for the dry signal...
Just guessing... usually he sounds great.
Evan knight!! Holy cow, nice chops..The new and improved Kenny Jerod or is that Jarrett see what I mean. gonna have stanky face all day now
Unique
最高にクール!!
WOW.
Woooooooowwwww!!!!
I'm inspired again...
Get on with your bad self. Awesome guys
That would be Wendell "Pops" Sewell, from Philadelphia, PA (USA)
tenor got mad flow.
great
WHOA !!!
Is this a cover or something new created there and then? I had to listen to this back-to-back... 'twas so nice had to play it twice!!!
It was an original that stemmed from the groove that Gerald played.
Yehaaaa
Funky! B.
Oh man.
Ooh yes, elevator funk. #nailedit
Да-да ! Я бы даже сказал - " каток-фанкоукладчик" ... и слегка бульдозер))
♡♡♡♡♡
Zajebiste !!!!
muy bueno grosos
The Lick 4:59
5:00 the lick
Ear candy!
this could have really been hot had gerald put some bottom in that bass! bass players nowadays like sounding like rubber bands
If you've ever wondered what it would be like to be there when lightning strikes... now you know.
Where's this been, or, Uh, wher've EYE been??
yeeeeeeeeeeeah
8:12am is just too early!
What is too early ?
How do I get in on this?
6:26 george duke its on at java jazz fest haha
Similar to Run for cover (Marcus miller & David sanborn) or is it just me?
Backing track please!!!!!!!!!!
Could someone help with chords in the bridge? There is one chord that just escapes me.
COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who is this guitarrist?
what about a jam on sugah daddy - dangelo
In these studio jam recordings Geralds tone is always kinda clicky for whatever reason. Also, speaker diameter and perceived low-end aren't actually a connected thing. Not with more modern gear anyway.
