IT WORKED!!! I did steps 1, 2 and 3 (clean and soak the cartridges for a few minutes) and even the colour one that I thought was empty, is now working because it actually still had some ink in it. Thank you so much. I rarely use my printer so there are long periods between each usage, so I was really frustrated. You're a lifesaver.

I had some unopened black ink cartridges for my HP printer that showed it was full on HP smart app but the return label I was trying to print was coming out blank, after 2 hours of my own troubleshooting, I came acros this video. I finally got the black ink to work by first using q-tip method, it didn’t really budge, so I took some warm water and dipped the bottom part of cartridge (as demonstrated in video) applied a bit of pressure on piece of paper, KIND of left the strip damp and I seen the ink coming out more & more so I quickly put it back in my printer, printed a test page….BLANK….ran a level 1 cartridge clean via Hp smart app, results were wayyy better than after the first cartridge clean I did 2 hours prior to RUclips and something just told me, girl do a level 2 clean….WHEW I almost shouted because it worked! Kind sir, thank you!

Oh My Goodness! I hadn't printed anything for awhile and when I tried I was having this issue and was panicking because I thought something was wrong with my printer. It didn't say the ink was low and I downloaded the app, which showed I still had ink. I followed your steps unplugging than washing the cartridge, and low and behold it worked. Thank you so much, you saved me money on a cartridge because I knew my ink wasn't low! 😀👏

Took the cartridges out and cleaned as per your instructions, ink was then very clearly coming out on the the kitchen roll. Put the cartridges back in, printed a test page PERFECTLY!! Thanks for the video! Well put together. I didn't need it though. After assessing my options, I did a reexamination of my problem and realized I had to remove the tape from the cartridge. Solved my blank page issue right away.

So I boiled some water and left them for 20 minutes and then did the option to clean ink via the app and It worked. I had no clue it was even an option to clean it via the app. Thank you !!
Oh my God how many nervous breakdowns has this man helped t avoid? Leave color cartridge sit in the shallow hand hot water as long as possible but probably not overnight. Worked perfectly following instructions above all the ways to soaking but obviously you dry it as best you can (and you do waste ink) before putting it back in. Thank you so much
great tutorial!! had problems printing when trying to copy documents. disconnected the power cord from both ends and cleaned cartridge heads and voila! great help!!

Thank you so much! I was about to buy new ink. It turns out it was just dry (havent used it in a few months). I let it sit in the water 2 hours and it worked like new! EDIT: It lost about 15-20% of the ink but hey, cheaper than a new one.

I did every step multiple times and unfortunately, it didn't work for me. I am currently letting them sit in the water for at least an hour. ***My question to you is what happens if it doesn't work? My color ink is faint but my black ink is nonexistent. I rarely ever need to print anything so spending money on a new printer just doesn't seem worth it if I can avoid it. I haven’t used mine in ages like probably over a year so far I’ve managed to get paper flowing through now this ink problem so fingers crossed.
