I did the same mod. A few tips: You can unscrew the mag tube from the receiver and pull out the spring and followers making it much easier to cut the tube. Grinding the ring with a Dremel is also an option. If you use the factory spring and follower it will be +3, with the replacement spring and follower it’s only +2.
I agree, unscrewing the mag tube from the receiver would make it a bit easier to cut the tube. However, the effort required to remove the tube might prove to be a bit too much for many. (Mine required a heat gun, a vise, 2 pipe wrenches and just about every ounce of strength I could muster before it finally broke free) A dremmel or a reamer would definitely be the easiest method. The hacksaw method is for those with neither of the above. I used a dremmel on my second Warthog, took about 3 minutes. I don't recommend using the follower that comes with the magazine extension tube, its just too long. A short Stainless Steel or Delrin follower works best and won't compromise your capacity. 😎👍🏻
I added the 8 shot total tube to mine last night. Using the original follower and leaving the 2nd cap out , using the supplied spring was able to fit 9 2 3/4” shells in it. Thanks for the video!
Just a heads up, I would really look into replacing the follower, the stock one has a tendency to roll. Its just a bit too flimsy, especially under the increased pressure of the longer spring. A SS or a Delrin follower is a much better alternative.
@@AMCITADEL I'm struggling on removing the magazine tube/retainer (doing a cut for mag tube extension) How does it come out? Is it a twist thing? Any advice greatly appreciated
@chrish3274 It does just unscrew, But i've had quite a few people lately tell me it is extremely difficult. I'm not sure what changed, Mine came off pretty easy.
@@AMCITADEL ..... OMG..... I tried everything but that.... I feel silly lol I was messing with it on my lunch break from work, after work I'll try that and get to deleting the round crimp Thank you once again! 🙂
@@AMCITADEL I was gunna have a shop do it for me until I saw a video and seemed easy. It was easy lol and I only spent a hour on it. I used a dremel at first but I bought a hand file kit from harbor freight with like 10 different little files. It was easier to make sure it was even with the hand files. Then I used a polisher dremel head at the end and smoothed it out. I might take a little more off but at least Now I can use my thumb sideways instead if the tip of the thumb to load
My new handle can be removed by hand, but the stock one was a definite no-go and required a screwdriver. Maybe they changed it up a bit to make it easier.
Great video. Very helpful. Thanks for posting. I installed that same tube on mine, but after only 20 rounds, the front cap popped right out along with spring and stuff. Seems to be way too light duty for the forces it sees under that barrel. It just had tiny threads with a bit of locktight. I might try another, or maybe add small screws at the end to hold it in. The Warthog has been great though. Actually, I think I got a different brand tube from Cabella's. Was 26 bucks I think, but not not worth it. Maybe I will try this one.
Ouch, sorry for your luck. I have just over 300 rounds through mine with no issues so far, but I am using the Carleson's brand tube. It was a bit more at $50 but it seems solid. Perhaps you will have better luck with that one?
I just picked up one of these shotguns on a “spur of the moment” purchase after seeing an email on the sale price when I went to my local Sportsman’s Warehouse to pickup my Savage Axis .308 I had bought online…after looking it over I just couldn’t pass it up for the price of $224 😁😁😁…plus I had $200 in gift cards I needed to use 👍…thank you for this most excellent video!!!👍👍👍. I’m gonna order one of the Nova extended magazine tubes in the near future (if I can find one in stock 🙏🙁🙏🙁) you did a great job on the presentation on the installation 👍👍👍
Thank you for the compliments! 😎 Check the description for lots of links to aftermarket parts and my other videos have additional information on this shotgun. Have fun with your hog!
I just did this… had to do it with the mag tube installed. I could not get it to budge. I’m not sure it was mentioned by it took a while. I had to cut it down and file, check for fit, file, check for fit… repeat. I did this until the tube extension fit snuggly. The extension is what actually holds the stock firmly to the gun. I had to make sure that it was tight so the gun functioned properly. Relatively speaking still easy to complete. Thanks for the great video.
Yeah, its a simple process in theory, but practical application can take some time and effort, as you found out. I had about 20 rounds of filing to get mine just right. I also had a bitch of a time removing my mag tube, it took a heat gun, 2 pipe wrenches, a vice and every ounce of strength I had to get it to move. I don't recommend it... I think the mag tube was installed by Turkish weight lifters 🤣
Pull the barrel off first then push the carrier back a bit, then push the bolt back a bit to unlock it, then the bolt handle should pull out easier. Good video, Thank you !
Ahhhh man I wish I would have found you sooner. But t, I totally was diggin your content and 2 years s after you posted this video I followed this build and put together a neat Kapowser💥🧪💣🌋
I've got the same set up, Citadel Wart Hog & a +2 extension tube. The only problem I've had is that the shells sometimes hang up, only coming part way out of the mag tube & they don't make it onto the elevator. It was like this from new & after the +2 extension. I'm hoping it's a rough edge or surface, but I've not stripped it down far enough to find out what it is yet. Other than that, For $200 (on sale) I'm happy.
I suggest throughly cleaning the shell latch mechanism with some solvent and a brush. Mine still had thick packing grease in there and was causing the same problem. After cleaning out the gunk it hasn't happened again. It also really smoothed out the cycling.
a couple things... 1. dont cut threads off the tube. instead, cut the end cap enough to cover the threads. its gotta be cheaper and easier to get a new end cap. 2. the swivel on the stock is a machine thread, so i used an over sized screw that looked like a wood screw. 3. we didnt have to cut the spring. it worked great. thanks for posting this, it really helped. everyone is talking about having to break these in. i put 30 rounds thru it last night with zero problems
You must remember, if you dont remove the roll crimp adding the extension will not adjust the capacity. The only way to remove the crimp is to cut the tube or grind it off. There is no spacer required when done properly.
@@AMCITADEL I reamed out the lip on the original tube, I didn't cut it down, and there's about a 3/8" gap between the bottom of the extension and the handguard when fully tightened down. I got the Choate extension tube by the way.
@@AMCITADEL I'll see if I can find something to fill the space between the handguard and the extension at the hardware store lol, maybe down the road I'll just replace it with the Carlson's tube. Thank you for the reply!
right at 4:08 I see that your piston has only 1 ring or o-ring, can't tell really. But anyway, I just had mine apart cleaning it and my piston has 2 metal rings sort of like piston rings in a car, except they are round instead of square cut. Do you think this is just a later design change?
This is awesome man! I just shot my warthog tactical for the first time today and it did awesome with 00 buck, I'm glad you found mag extension that will work for this because that was my only complaint with this gun
Dave , hey Cuz,, I'm from the Couches from Hyden, KY. AFAIK, ALL Couches are from there., but my grandpa Clarence and his 3 brothers , AL , Bud, Robert migrated up to Hamilton Ohio., where my dad Eugene and his brother George and 3 sisters were born and raised. I was born and raised in Florida., where I am now. I too have a Wart Hog. I'm following this guy and have it broken down and polishing it all up. I have a Choate tube coming.. I'm gonna have to ask him why he's cutting down the threads.
Why did they crimp roll the end of the mag tube? I guess they thought no one would ever use a mag tube extension or they wanted to make the mag tube spring safer. I'm already used to how, when you take off the endcap on shotguns, the mag spring wants to shoot across the room. I hate cutting on a brand new gun especially if it voids the warranty.
I agree, it sucks having to cut into a brand new gun, especially when there is no real reason for it. They just want it to be as hard as possible for you not to modify it I guess. Personally I'd rather have my spring fly across the room and have the easy ability to add an extension or at the very least swap out the follower.
@@AMCITADEL I forgot about the crappy follower. I'll just do what you recommended and thoroughly break it in and thoroughly test the gun before I decide to modify it in any way.
I have a Dickinson CK212. Pretty sure it's made by the same factory in Turkey that makes Citadel. The gun looks identical externally and internally. Going to try this mod. Thanks.
On my Warthog I put a sling mount bolt thru the plastic fore end. Being careful with my home drilling I put the sling bolt thru the hole and determined the depth for the nut on the underside of the forearm. Taking a drill bit the size of the nut I drilled down just enough to give the nut clearance and a grip down into the forearm. As you might suspect this wasn't my first go at fitting stuff to my firearms.
I'VE BEEN FOLLOWING YOUR INSTRUCTIONS BUT I USED A PIPE REAMER "HAND HELD" YOU CAN BUY AT A HOME DEPOT THAT WILL REAM THE HOLE CRIMP IN ORDER TO REMOVE THE FOLLOWER. IT'S A MUCH EASIER AND CLEANER WAY TO REMOVE THE CRIMP INSTEAD OF CUTTING THE END PEICE OFF.
Did you need to remove the little plastic bit on the end in order to ream the crimp? In other words is it ok to break it off in order to ream it or do I need to keep it for the mag tube? Cause I just got the reamer but that plastic bit gets in the way
Nice video. I got one a few months ago. Still have not been out with it. Was shooting the new Dickinson inertia driven. Looking forward to the Citadel now. The sling... It may be the kind that holds the weapon in front, diagonally across and close to your body. When you extend the muzzle to a firing position, it must unsnap from its attachment to that part of the sling. Then snapped again to return to the slung position.
Did the longest 8 shot extension today on a Warthog mag that only held 4 2.75” (2.5” unfired), now holds 7+1. You have to use a saw b/c if you don’t remove enough from the existing mag tube, the extension won’t screw in far enough to rest against the hand guard. Did it without removing the bolt, just removed the barrel. Used a rolled piece of cardboard to push the follower in while sawing off the crimp. Had to use the new longer spring b/c it would not eject the final round from the mag with the stock spring. Kept the original follower. Didn’t use the barrel clamp b/c I want the barrel to flex independently on firing and I doubt that the clamp would stay in place under heavy use, without scratching the barrel and/or extension. Still need to range test, But seems to cycle manually as expected. Choate takes this from 4+1 to 7+1.
Just a heads up, if you use the original spring and follower you can actually squeeze in 7 rounds of 2-3/4 low brass into the magazine making this an 8 round weapon. High brass capacity stays at 6. I have not yet tried the 8 round tube, waiting for delivery. Hopefully that one will give this shotgun a 9 round capacity! EDIT: Got the 8 round tube. Although using the stock spring and low brass you can load 8 shells in the mag, the spring tension is not strong enough. I am using it as a 7+1 and it functions flawlessly. Not bad for under $400
@@huntweldandfish1534 yeah, the 3" slugs are brutal. I was just running #9 short brass 2-3/4 and it would pump out 8 rounds in under 3 seconds, recoil was easily manageable. Happy shooting!
And I've heard good things inside good reviews with no Jam ups with the Wolf ammo double-ought Buck I'm probably going to get you know 120 rounds of that for the price seems pretty good so stuff's getting bought up everywhere so when all the animals out there works fine for other people that have ran into the gun
I think the one I Got id a Frankenstein one it’s has a pistol grip and rail on the the fore grip but with regular sights like this one idk if just swapped out with different kinds
Just picked this rifle up today and I was looking for better instructions and mods. I found your video very informing. I will order the 8shot extension kit, but will I need to use the new spring or the factory one.
Personally after working with both extensively, I would recommend that you use neither. A higher strength spring such as the Wolf springs make this gun feed much more reliably. The spring is about $10-12 delivered and is worth its weight in gold. If you must use the springs you have, use the longer one that comes in the extension kit. www.gunsprings.com/MAGAZINE%20SPRINGS%20(TUBULAR-TYPE)%20FOR%20RIFLES%20&%20SHOTGUNS/Tubular%20Magazine%20Springs/cID4/mID137/dID411)
Thanks for sharing recently I brought a gf2p and I’m planning ad a ext. magazine, but my question is why is necessary saw the tube? I have seen some video where the made the same cut, i would like to what happened if I don’t cut the tub. Thanks there are turkis shoot gin’s some the models are similar
FYI: I had to go 4 threads or about 3/16". the first cut wasn't enough when I assembled everything the hand shield was loose. Basically it didn't allow the extension to screw on far enough due to not enough threads inside the tube extension.
Also, im guessing that you cant really get the original follower and spring out of there until you cut that roll-crimp off, so how did you prevent it from flying across the room as soon as you cut it off? I can see that even unloaded its still under a good bit of pressure so its gonna make cutting off that crimp a bit more problematic.
You could also unscrew the magazine tube from the receiver, but that will be a challenge. What I did was stuff a small rag down the tube pushing back the cap and spring. That holds it back and out of the way.
Just got mine yesterday. Not a single jam, even with target birdshot as the first rounds I put through it. Only problem i had was that little trigger group pin kept working its way out as i shot it. Had to keep tapping it back in with a skeleton key on my keychain and my phone as a hammer. (I went straight to the range from the shop so I didnt really have any tools lol)
Try removing the pin clean off the oil with some alcohol reinstall, see if that help keep the pin in with no oil on the pin! If it still works out purchase some gunscruber at Walmart mart and spay the trigger assembly clean of oil let it dry for a few seconds then reinstall the trigger group and pin! Have read we’re this will work!
Question answer so I ordered the Carlson Nova Supernova and it says it also is for the extreme on the CZ is that the right one I mean it seemed like the only one that is compatible with those other models but the main part of the main name on that was Nova Supernova you know at first so is that the right one and it has just several other brands that its compatible with
Great video! I wonder if you can buy an an additional factory mag tube? If I could I buy an extra and cut on it to keep the warranty. BTW how long is the warranty? I Appreciate you redoing the job so you could film it. The low capacity is what has kept me form "pulling the trigger" on the warthog.
You would have to contact Legacy Sports to inquire about buying a replacement magazine tube, not sure if they sell them or not. I believe the warranty is 7 years.
I see you now have the 8 round extension. Can you let me know what exact Wolff spring you are using for that. I see there are several different versions on EBay. I appreciate the help.
@@AMCITADEL thank you I have the Benelli 8 round extension on the way. I’m gonna try the factory spring and see how it goes or maybe the one coming with the extension.
@@RUclipshandle375 the one that came with the extension was adequate, better than the stock spring for sure. The wolf spring is noticeably more powerful than the spring that came with the extension.
going to do this very soon with an 8 round tube. i have a few questions if you dont mind. how do i get the internal spring out when the bevel isnt cut yet? or if thats not possible how can i cut it without damaging the spring and followers? also i plan on mainly using 3 in slugs so i dont know what spring to use to keep good tension and still hold as many as possible.
The easiest way to remove the roll crimp is with a dremel. If you don't have one, use a hacksaw to cut off the very end of the tube. If you stuff a small rag or paper towel into the tube, it will compress the spring and keep it away from where you are working. I highly recommend buying a Wolf spring (link in description) and trim an inch at a time until you get the best results.
Francolin Arms manufacturers BOTH the Citadel and the GForce Shotguns (at least some of the GForce models). I have a GForce PG3 Model, which is based off of the Francolin PAX model. Is it "pretty safe" to say that most aesthetic parts are interchangeable between the Citadel and the Benelli Super Nova?
My Citadel Warthog is stamped "Made by KRC AV", not Francolin. The only part I have found so far that is interchangeable is the magazine extension tube.
Ebay - same follower: www.ebay.com/itm/Stainless-Steel-Shotgun-Magazine-Follower-12-ga-for-Remington-870-1100-1187-New/223975139819?pageci=0ccb9108-2c49-4ef4-a018-83d38149c50c
Just a heads up, these stainless steel followers are fresh off the lathe and will need some polishing. Mount it on a Carriage bolt and insert that into a drill, then spin it up while hitting it with some 600 grit sandpaper, then some metal polish until its smooth & shiny with no sharp edges. This will make sure that it doesn't bind in the tube anywhere.
Another question how temperamental is this shotgun about cleaning you know I mean of course people shoot the guy and they should go and clean it but sometimes people don't and I know that slide shotguns are different than Autos Autos definitely be cleaned more often but what do you suggest on cleaning
I enjoy cleaning guns, so I personally clean it after every visit to the range. This typically equates to every 50 rounds on average. The most I've gone without cleaning is 100 rounds. Keeping it clean helps ensure that it functions well.
The magazine extension tube kit comes with a new spring. I used it for a brief period but was having occasional feed issues. I purchased a Wolf magazine spring to replace the one that came with the kit and have never had an issue since. (The Wolf is a much stronger spring.) There's a link to the Wolf spring in the description.
I don't know for sure if the threads will line up properly, I haven't tried it. The PAT is pretty similar, though. It might work. Worst case is it doesn't fit, and you can return it?
FYI the charging handle comes off by hand when you remove the barrel first. The charging handle will touch the front of the ejection port when the barrel comes off, so just grab the action assembly (or arms) and pull back juuuuust a tad to relieve the charging handle from the ejection port, then just wiggle the handle right off. Reassembly is same (opposite)
I have this same gun. Personally, I'd like to replace the stock. Any ideas on what might fit? Also, when loading shells, the magazine loading dock has some really sharp edges. Pushing in a round I sliced the top of my thumb up pretty good.
I have not yet found a replacement stock, but I'm still looking. I had the same issue with the sharp edges when loading, I hit it with a file and some carbide sandpaper to smooth out the edges of the loading area, much better now. I highly recommend you do that, just takes a few minutes
I shot mine for the first time today. The 5th round didn't cycle the first time and I cut a thumb and 2 fingers but I kinda love this shotgun. Awesome video on the mag extension. I'm ordering the carlson kit tomorrow and a stainless steel follower. Thanks for step by step instructions on installation, I will be watching the video a few more times before I make the cut.
@@joelferris462 lol, it seems thumb injuries are par for the course with this shotgun. File down the edges of the loading dock and replace the charging handle in order to minimize further injury. 😎
You can use any of the chokes that come with it, you will need to try them all to see which holds the best grouping for you. The Modified choke worked best for me. Personally I bought new chokes, the stock ones seem a little thin in my opinion. This gun will use any choke from the Benelli / Beretta Mobile choke line, links in the description.
They do make a Tactical version, so my thoughts are that perhaps they are interchangeable, therefore you can get one direct from Legacy Sports? Might be worth a shot. As far as aftermarket stocks, I'm still looking myself.
I have the pump version of this shotgun, and I'm a little curious as to how you got the plunger out of the magazine tube before cutting off the 2 threads. I planned on doing the mod soon, and got the 3 shot extension from GG&G. Any help is appreciated. Thanks bud.
I don't know off the top of my head. The ATI T3 may fit, it has 6 different attachment styles, but I don't know what the Charles receiver back looks like. If you take off the stock, is the receiver surface flat?
I purchased the mag extension tube kit for the Nova/Super Nova and have a question. I tried screwing the extension tube onto my gun magazine for fitment before I cut the two threads off as you suggested. The extension tune screws on about 3 threads and is tight. There is still at least 1/2" or more thread remaining exposed on my magazine. Once I cut the two threads off my gun msg. Will the extension tube screw all the way down tight? Did this happen to you when you did your modification?
@@deahnasdad yeah, someone told me this morning that the link changed. I checked the link and saw they no longer show the super nova model available in the selection. I removed the links until I can find another source. I don't know if that model works or not.
What round work the back in this shotgun they claimed in the paperwork to use 13 FPS have you found otherwise you know it for defense so what Buckshot or slugs do you recommend thank you
I shot mostly 1500+ fps for the first 100 rounds, then I started trying others. The gun performed admirably using some 1250 fps, but it choked on low recoil 1100s. Brand didn't seem to matter much. Mine really likes the Black Aces 1450fps Buckshot and the 1650fps high velocity slugs. Hope that helps!
Have you found any longer barrels (28”) that fit? I know it’s similar to nova/supernova. Hoping to be able to swap it to a better loaner duck gun when needed.
Does the 10 round stick out past the barrel? If so would you recommend the 7 or 8? And which one performs better? Thanks for all you’re videos I got one the other day and found no accessories for it :(
Yes, the 10 sticks out about 3 inches past the barrel. Personally I recommend the 8th shot because it comes flush to the end and looks the best. I haven't noticed a performance difference between the 7 and 8 shot model, I have the 8 shot now on mine. I have a whole bunch of accessories now listed in the description, you should find just about everything your looking for! Happy Shooting! 😎👍🏻

@@robertgemini7606 Honestly I don't know. The ATI T3 Universal stock contains an adapter for the Tristar which is the one that you use for the Citadel. If that stock doesn't have that adapter then it will not fit. Your best bet would be to contact ATI and see if it fits the Tristar.
I stuffed a rag into the tube to kinda wedge it back. This also keeps the metal shavings from falling too far into the tube, making cleanup easier. If you do cut the plastic cap, its not a big deal. As long as you replace the stock follower, you can use the old follower as the end cap - they are almost identical.
Do you know where to find spare parts? The rail on the other side of where the bolt us u called it the rider mines like griding down for some reason i need a new one or is that normal
I have not looked for a standard stock, but anything with a flat receiver face should work. Honestly I'd contact Legacy Sports and inquire about purchasing the standard stock from them. That one would be the best fit.
I put the gun in a vice and hit the receiver with a heat gun, then used a pipe wrench to remove the mag tube. You will need to wrap the tube in some duct tape so you don't mangle it. Also use caution not to bend the tube. Its pretty tough, but it does come off. Another option is to have your local gunsmith do it.
Thank you for your reply, I had assumed the receiver would have to be heated , I think I will try a strap wrench first and see if it will move, again thank you for your reply!
Still truckin' on just fine. I made a video a bit ago celebrating 5000 rounds with some updates, you should check that one out! ruclips.net/video/OI8Pq_f84HU/видео.html

My son just got a citadel for deer hunting. Very interested in tube extension. I have a Hatfield 12g (cheap Walmart gun) do you know of a tube extension for it?
Question for the group, and I’m a newbie at shotguns (not rifles or handguns) and just bought this shotgun. I took the cap off the magazine and there was a plastic plunger looking piece in there. Is it required? It only allowed me to load 3 rounds total, even with one in the chamber. After I removed the plastic plunger, I was able to load 4+1.
You either have to either remove the roll crimp off the end of the magazine tube or unscrew the mag tube from the receiver. The former is definitely easier than the latter
@@123ldevane I used the spring that came with the extension tube but then replaced it with a Wolf Spring. The follower was also replaced with a stainless steel one. There are links in the for both of those.
Hey sorry to ask this question again, But mine seems to be the identical model and this is driving me crazy... in the round part attached to the barrel I have a groove/ captivated rubber O-Ring in front of the two gas ports . I just wanted to ask you again if yours has one??? In a email to legacy they said, they all have orings but Legacy doesn't have them in replacement parts and I'm having the hardest time tracking one down. Any thoughts or opinions??
After a further checking, I do have the rubber o-ring. It blends in quite well so I missed it until I purposely went looking for it just now. I do see in the manual part #90 "Rubber Gas Ring" listed. Strange they would not have such a part available for replacement. Depending on the size (haven't removed it) maybe its something you could find somewhere like Home Depot or an auto parts store if Legacy is not carrying it?
Lol I do appreciate you taking another look, Ive been a little stuck and could use more thoughts lol... I've tried the remington semi auto o ring (too small), Lowes, home Depot (too big and thick). Brenda from legacy gave me a website for captain O rings.com and apologized saying that's not a part they have to send to me or the dimensions. However captain O ring needs the exact dimensions lol. Cal ranch had one I thought was correct but a it was a tiny bit too thin and had open space in the barrel. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated
@@AMCITADEL thank you so much. I've taking my torn one with me to a few guns shops and everywhere I could find trays o rings and just can't get the the right one in Vegas. It's always too thin or too thick for the barrel groove.

@@AMCITADEL Yeah, I sent off an email late friday. Waiting to heat back in the beginning of the week. I've yet to see if it cycles, noticed it on the first cleaning. Looks like the threads caught it on assembly or on reassembly after cleaning.
@@AMCITADEL I found a similar shotgun. I will find which one it was. I believe the Charles daly 601 would be comparable. They have a 4pk of gas rings on Amazon for $10.
I've got someone making me a new trigger assembly which takes off 4 parts. Added to the replaced stock, mag tube & follower. Also machining a new gas piston.
I won't pretend to be an expert on the convoluted laws regarding 922r. My understanding is that if you modify it, you have to have a certain number of parts that are not from foreign origin so replacing a single part is a no go. With this in mind I went overboard on parts replacement just in case in order to reach the magic number. Again, I'm definitely not the expert here.
Mine screwed down snuggly against the handguard. Perhaps the threads of the tube are getting snagged? Maybe try fine sanding of the mag tube threads and the inside of the extension tube?
The only video I've seen that talks about the tapered round holder and what to do about it. Thanks!
I did the same mod. A few tips:
You can unscrew the mag tube from the receiver and pull out the spring and followers making it much easier to cut the tube.
(Mine required a heat gun, a vise, 2 pipe wrenches and just about every ounce of strength I could muster before it finally broke free)
A dremmel or a reamer would definitely be the easiest method.
THANK YOU. I HAVE BEEN STRUGGLING to find any aftermarket parts that fit this!
You are welcome 👍🏻
I added the 8 shot total tube to mine last night. Using the original follower and leaving the 2nd cap out , using the supplied spring was able to fit 9 2 3/4” shells in it. Thanks for the video!
Just a heads up, I would really look into replacing the follower, the stock one has a tendency to roll. Its just a bit too flimsy, especially under the increased pressure of the longer spring.
A SS or a Delrin follower is a much better alternative.
I just bought one of these, thank you for the video! You saved me a lot of "swear time" figuring out how to reassemble it

How does it come out? Is it a twist thing? Any advice greatly appreciated
@chrish3274 It does just unscrew, But i've had quite a few people lately tell me it is extremely difficult. I'm not sure what changed, Mine came off pretty easy.
@@AMCITADEL ..... OMG..... I tried everything but that.... I feel silly lol
I was messing with it on my lunch break from work, after work I'll try that and get to deleting the round crimp
Thank you once again! 🙂
@@AMCITADEL I'm sorry, but I have another question
Does it come out the front or at the breech?
Im loving this gun more and more each time I shoot it. I just opened the loading port for quicker loading and what a difference.
Sweet! I've been contemplating opening up the port, other projects keeping me busy. Did you do it by hand or with a dremel?
@@AMCITADEL I was gunna have a shop do it for me until I saw a video and seemed easy. It was easy lol and I only spent a hour on it. I used a dremel at first but I bought a hand file kit from harbor freight with like 10 different little files. It was easier to make sure it was even with the hand files. Then I used a polisher dremel head at the end and smoothed it out. I might take a little more off but at least Now I can use my thumb sideways instead if the tip of the thumb to load
Nice! Maybe one day when I get bored...
I
ll be getting the Boss Hog in 10 days. Need to have everything ready to instal, clean, fix, and make it better.. Thaks.
I had zero problems removing my charging handle buy hand. Anyway great detail in all of your videos with these shotguns.
My new handle can be removed by hand, but the stock one was a definite no-go and required a screwdriver. Maybe they changed it up a bit to make it easier.
Okay cool it's on its way from Midway thank you for all your expertise
You are welcome Brother 😎
By the way Thank you so so much. You are the only one in 3 days with great information. I appreciate you brother. Thanks
You are welcome Brother 😎
Good info brother got one today and so far i like it gonna try and modify it a little and this definitely is gonna be one of the mods.
Thanks Brother! I'll be putting out another video today on adding a rear sling mount for using a single point sling, make sure you check it out!
Rather than cut down the old end cap, wouldn't it be even easier to pick up a spacer from the hardware store?
You must remember, if you dont remove the roll crimp adding the extension will not adjust the capacity.
The only way to remove the crimp is to cut the tube or grind it off.
There is no spacer required when done properly.
@@AMCITADEL I reamed out the lip on the original tube, I didn't cut it down, and there's about a 3/8" gap between the bottom of the extension and the handguard when fully tightened down. I got the Choate extension tube by the way.
@@GonzoSarge Ahh, I see. Yes, the only one that fits perfectly is the Carlson's.
@@AMCITADEL I'll see if I can find something to fill the space between the handguard and the extension at the hardware store lol, maybe down the road I'll just replace it with the Carlson's tube. Thank you for the reply!
Thanks for the video! I got my warthog tonight for under two Ben's at RK 👍🏻
Sweet! Have fun with your hog 😎👍🏻
Me too I just got mine today at RK and I definitely will be doing this tomorrow but I seem to really like it so far
right at 4:08 I see that your piston has only 1 ring or o-ring, can't tell really. But anyway, I just had mine apart cleaning it and my piston has 2 metal rings sort of like piston rings in a car, except they are round instead of square cut. Do you think this is just a later design change?
It's definitely a possibility, I know of at least 3 different internal designs for this shotgun.
This is awesome man! I just shot my warthog tactical for the first time today and it did awesome with 00 buck, I'm glad you found mag extension that will work for this because that was my only complaint with this gun
I just had the 8 shot magazine delivered, this gun is awesome now that it holds 8 rounds!
I will be ordering one asap!
Just to be sure on the carlsons website, did you get the 04507 item number one?
@@couchy712 yes, that's the 8 round magazine extension. This video shows the 6 round, I have the 8 round one now.

I was born and raised in Florida., where I am now. I too have a Wart Hog. I'm following this guy and have it broken down and polishing it all up. I have a Choate tube coming.. I'm gonna have to ask him why he's cutting down the threads.
Thank you very I will be watching everything you have on this firearm thank you very much again
You are welcome 😎
@@jTempVids sounds like a plan 😎👍🏻
I have a Dickinson CK212. Pretty sure it's made by the same factory in Turkey that makes Citadel. The gun looks identical externally and internally. Going to try this mod. Thanks.
Let us know how it goes!
Thanks. I'm debating on getting one of these shotguns.
😎
Thank you, i made a video about this but for an almost identical shotgun the GF1. Thanks for the inspiration for it
Just watched your vid, good job! Glad I could be an inspiration.
You are right, these shotguns are pretty similar. Any troubles with the GF1?
@@AMCITADEL no the gf1 runs smooth, it is 40 dollars more expensive though, i think the internals are barely a bit more high end i believe
Yeah, I would have liked to use one, but I didn't think about it until after. Probably faster too.
Did you need to remove the little plastic bit on the end in order to ream the crimp? In other words is it ok to break it off in order to ream it or do I need to keep it for the mag tube? Cause I just got the reamer but that plastic bit gets in the way
It is ok if you destroy the end cap. Assuming you are replacing the follower, you can use the old follower as the end cap.
@@AMCITADEL ok perfect! Thank you so much for the fast reply I appreciate it!
Looks exactly like my Fedarms FX4, made by Berika Arms in Turkey.
I think there's a couple like this that are very similar
Thanks for that! I was wondering what it was for, I've just been using it as a shoulder sling, I also have a single point.
Still need to range test,
But seems to cycle manually as expected. Choate takes this from 4+1 to 7+1.
this also works for the GForce Arms GF1, which is the exact same firearm.
Good to know!
Not bad for under $400
Agreed I just ran some 3 inch slugs through mine recoil was pretty heavy but functioned perfectly
@@huntweldandfish1534 yeah, the 3" slugs are brutal. I was just running #9 short brass 2-3/4 and it would pump out 8 rounds in under 3 seconds, recoil was easily manageable.
Happy shooting!
Mine runs the low recoil stuff just fine! It's awesome
And I've heard good things inside good reviews with no Jam ups with the Wolf ammo double-ought Buck I'm probably going to get you know 120 rounds of that for the price seems pretty good so stuff's getting bought up everywhere so when all the animals out there works fine for other people that have ran into the gun
Good to know! 😎👍🏻
I think the one I
Got id a Frankenstein one it’s has a pistol grip and rail on the the fore grip but with regular sights like this one idk if just swapped out with different kinds
Interesting. Mine only needed the last thread cut, wonder if they changed the thread length?
Someone else here had an issue with the pin , they said they removed and reassembled the trigger group and problem was resolved.
Nice upgrade. You know if this extension is compatible with the Citadel PAT pump action?
Unfortunately I do not know. I only own the semi-auto model.
Question answer so I ordered the Carlson Nova Supernova and it says it also is for the extreme on the CZ is that the right one I mean it seemed like the only one that is compatible with those other models but the main part of the main name on that was Nova Supernova you know at first so is that the right one and it has just several other brands that its compatible with
Yes, the Carlson's tube that is compatible with the Nova / Super Nova is also compatible with a few other models.
Thanks for your expertise
I really need to ask, what happens if you don’t cut off some of the the threading on the magazine tube extension?
The catch or the prong you explain that’s on the slide, that the bolt sides up on, I do not see it on my gun, I was wondering if that’s a problem
Awsome ! Thanks you for this 👍
You are welcome Brother 😎 👍🏻
I bought this one for the 8 shot tube:

@@AMCITADEL this is two months old but does the factory spring not work well with the 8 round extension?
It sometimes had difficulty loading the last shell or 2. The wolf spring is way better.
@@AMCITADEL thanks 🙏🏼
Francolin Arms manufacturers BOTH the Citadel and the GForce Shotguns (at least some of the GForce models).
I have a GForce PG3 Model, which is based off of the Francolin PAX model.
Is it "pretty safe" to say that most aesthetic parts are interchangeable between the Citadel and the Benelli Super Nova?
My Citadel Warthog is stamped "Made by KRC AV", not Francolin.
The only part I have found so far that is interchangeable is the magazine extension tube.
What follower would u recommend? The one in link is sold and don’t know what would fit this model
Ebay - same follower:
www.ebay.com/itm/Stainless-Steel-Shotgun-Magazine-Follower-12-ga-for-Remington-870-1100-1187-New/223975139819?pageci=0ccb9108-2c49-4ef4-a018-83d38149c50c
So you kept saying “factory”.. did you have to order the second spring and from where?
The magazine extension tube kit comes with a new spring. I used it for a brief period but was having occasional feed issues.
I purchased a Wolf magazine spring to replace the one that came with the kit and have never had an issue since. (The Wolf is a much stronger spring.)
There's a link to the Wolf spring in the description.

@@AMCITADEL ok thanks
Did your shotgun come with any chokes? The advert says it comes with 5 of them, but mine came with 0. Just wondering which chokes I could buy for it.
Mine came with 3, but I bought new ones. You can use any choke from the Benelli / Beretta Mobile choke line.
Solid job
Thanks Brother 😎
FYI the charging handle comes off by hand when you remove the barrel first. The charging handle will touch the front of the ejection port when the barrel comes off, so just grab the action assembly (or arms) and pull back juuuuust a tad to relieve the charging handle from the ejection port, then just wiggle the handle right off. Reassembly is same (opposite)
Great info, thanks! 😎👍🏻
I replaced the charging handle - the new one comes out much easier.
Looks similar to this Charles Daly 601 I got for cheap. I wonder if the mag extension fits!?

7 + 1 means 7 in magazine Plus 1in the Chamber for a total of 8.

You can use any of the chokes that come with it, you will need to try them all to see which holds the best grouping for you. The Modified choke worked best for me. I pushed the plastic follower into the magazine tube by stuffing a rag inside. The rag held it back so I could cut off the roll crimp.
Also, try to only cut off the very last thread if you can.
Honestly, I had my friend push a screw driver holding it back while I cut the threads. It was a little ghetto but got the job done.
Hey partner. If you know who makes one for a charles daly 301 xl tactical shotgun. Let me know please.
Unfortunately I did not have the issue you are experiencing, mine easily screwed all the way on.
Someone else here had an issue getting theirs threaded on, I believe he solved it with some sandpaper. Hit the inside threads a bit?
@@AMCITADEL No good. It appears there is more thread on my gun magazine than in the extension tube.
You bought the Carleson’s tube? Mine has more threads in the tube than I have available on the magazine once the foregrip is attached
Sounds like an issue with the threads, hopefully you can figure it out, wishing you luck!
can u instal the magazine extention without disabling it
You cannot install the magazine extension tube without removing the roll crimp on the magazine tube.
Is the boss hog the same as a warthog? I just bought a Boss Hog and hope this will work for it.

I have honestly not looked into a longer barrel, sorry

Does the 10 round stick out past the barrel? If so would you recommend the 7 or 8? And which one performs better? Thanks for all you’re videos I got one the other day and found no accessories for it :(
Yes, the 10 sticks out about 3 inches past the barrel. Personally I recommend the 8th shot because it comes flush to the end and looks the best. I haven't noticed a performance difference between the 7 and 8 shot model, I have the 8 shot now on mine.

@@robertgemini7606 Honestly I don't know. The ATI T3 Universal stock contains an adapter for the Tristar which is the one that you use for the Citadel. If that stock doesn't have that adapter then it will not fit. Your best bet would be to contact ATI and see if it fits the Tristar.
ok thanks. that butt stock that you listed ATI T3 is it fixed? thanks and sorry for the boder. CA has stick rules.
Question: How did you depress the magazine spring while sawing off the thread? I'm worried I'm going to saw through that plastic end piece. Thanks!

Hi just one question before I cut the magazine barrel crimp, once it’s cut the black cap will be loose oppose to it holding in place with crimp on?
Yes, the end cap and the spring can then be removed.
Just wanted to know if I use the same cap when adding the magazine extension, thanks
Yes, i reused the cap
@@AMCITADEL Thanks for all your help
@@AMCITADEL Hi after my modification my carrier is staying stuck in the up position, any clue why and what I can do to make it work as before?
What stock matches up with the Ole hog brother? I've got the one with pistol grip and would like a regular
I have not looked for a standard stock, but anything with a flat receiver face should work. Honestly I'd contact Legacy Sports and inquire about purchasing the standard stock from them. That one would be the best fit.
Do you need to heat the magazine tube to remove it from the receiver?
I put the gun in a vice and hit the receiver with a heat gun, then used a pipe wrench to remove the mag tube. You will need to wrap the tube in some duct tape so you don't mangle it. Also use caution not to bend the tube.
Its pretty tough, but it does come off. Another option is to have your local gunsmith do it.
Thank you for your reply, I had assumed the receiver would have to be heated , I think I will try a strap wrench first and see if it will move, again thank you for your reply!
@@hermanfurlong8824 good luck! Fyi I did not have success with a strap wrench, it just kept spinning.
Thanks for the video. I just grabbed this from Sportsmans Warehouse for 160otd and plan to do this mod. How is yours holding up?
Still truckin' on just fine. I made a video a bit ago celebrating 5000 rounds with some updates, you should check that one out!

The way his fingers were flirting around that trigger after he put that buck in the chamber ha and at 14:57 he shoves his fingers into the trigger guard... LMAO this guys an adrenaline junkie!
My son just got a citadel for deer hunting. Very interested in tube extension. I have a Hatfield 12g (cheap Walmart gun) do you know of a tube extension for it?
Sorry, I do not know that one.
@@AMCITADEL thanks for your time 👍
No worries, sorry I couldn't help. Maybe you will get lucky and someone else will read this and know the answer
Or maybe it could be called a guide rod.
That may be the plug. Its a device meant to enforce a lower shell count for places that require that. Mine did not come with that.
@@AMCITADEL thanks for the info. I live in PA, weird why it would be installed. I’m assuming it is not really needed then. Right?!
@Ramiro Magallanez nope, unless you only want a 3 round shotgun 😉
I did this mid last night and I’m having issues getting the shells to feed through. Do I need a new spring?
Which spring did you use, the one that came with the kit? I did have an occasional feed issue with that one so I bought a wolf spring, no issues since
Allen...Do know how long the 7 shot magazine extension from the forend to the top of the magazine? Thanks
Not sure I'm understanding your question. If you are looking for the dimensions of the magazine extension tube, check out their website?
Late to the party but how do I get the plunger and spring out of the mag tube?
You either have to either remove the roll crimp off the end of the magazine tube or unscrew the mag tube from the receiver. The former is definitely easier than the latter
Instead of sawing the tube, if I reamed of out, what size reaming tool do you recommend? Could you post a link? Thanks.
Not sure the exact size reaming tool to use, I cut mine off. Hopefully someone else here can answer your question!
Did you use the original follower and spring of the one from the kit on the 8 shot extension?
@@123ldevane I used the spring that came with the extension tube but then replaced it with a Wolf Spring. The follower was also replaced with a stainless steel one. There are links in the for both of those.
tapered pipe reamer
I'll check around and see if I can dig something up. I have a big collection of o-rings I bought somewhere, maybe one will fit.
@@AMCITADEL thank you so much. I've taking my torn one with me to a few guns shops and everywhere I could find trays o rings and just can't get the the right one in Vegas. It's always too thin or too thick for the barrel groove.
That sucks 😕
Good stuff! Just got a Warthog for $158/shipped and have ordered out the mag tube extension amongst a bunch of other goodies. The link you have for the s/s follower doesn't work, got another source? Is it the NDZ BENELLI M1 M2 M3 M4 12GA ??
You can get them from Midway also:

@@AMCITADEL Great! Will order it out. For the mag tube extension, which one works best that holds the most 2-3/4" shells but won't stick out past the muzzle/choke tube?
@@rfdsrd the 8 shot tube ends perfectly flush with the choke
@@AMCITADEL Is that the Carlson 8 or the Choate 3?
@@rfdsrd the Carlson's
Great video.
Thanks!
Your videos are really helping my my new shotgun, but I got a question for you, Do you know of any fore ends that will fit this or, if the rumors about this being a Benelli clone true, will Benelli stock and fore end pieces fit this with minimal modification?
I do not know of any handguard that fits, I have not tried looking for one, sorry. If you figure that out, let us know! 😎👍🏻
Am I able to get a mag tube extension in California
I have no idea regarding the legality of extended mag tubes in California unfortunately. Your local police department would probably know.
I just purchased one and my charging handle wiggles up and down is this normal on your rifle?Have you had any problems with the Remington charging handle popping out?
The original charging handle was pretty tight on mine, not much wiggle at all.
So far so good with the new Remington charging handle.
@@AMCITADEL thanks for replying brother. I appreciate it.
I only can fit 6 and the spring is to weak to push the last shell out
Which size extension tube did you install? Also, are you using the orange follower that came with the extension tube? If so, that follower will decrease your shell count. As far as the spring, I highly recommend purchasing a Wolf spring - it will eliminate the feeding issues. There's a link in the description.
@@AMCITADEL I used the stock one but I’ll check out the description this shotgun isn’t all terrible but I had a problem I had to fix but it was only $300 so you pay for what you get
@@AMCITADEL hey what parts did you replace for your gun to be compliant with 922r
Mag extension tube, spring, follower, stock, front sight, charging handle, firing pin, and all the internal components of the trigger housing.
@@AMCITADEL that’s a lot of work lol especially the trigger housing
Curious if you know what rubber gas ring can replace the original for this gun? Unsure if mine came slightly damaged or was damaged on reassembly. Thanks in advance
You may want to contact Legacy Sports and see if they have any replacement yet. I know when I got mine they did not have any.
@@AMCITADEL Yeah, I sent off an email late friday. Waiting to heat back in the beginning of the week. I've yet to see if it cycles, noticed it on the first cleaning. Looks like the threads caught it on assembly or on reassembly after cleaning.
I'm curious to know if they have these yet. I know at first they did not and a few people here were scrambling to find a solution.
@@AMCITADEL I found a similar shotgun. I will find which one it was. I believe the Charles daly 601 would be comparable. They have a 4pk of gas rings on Amazon for $10.
Awesome, let us know if they fit
Can you please either write out the part name or add a link for purchase. I cant understand what your saying. TIA
I am not sure which part you are referring to, but I have every part (and more) linked in the description.
It’s an imported shotgun there are limitations to the size of the magazine
Thankfully it is easy to overcome that limitation 😎
I've got someone making me a new trigger assembly which takes off 4 parts. Added to the replaced stock, mag tube & follower. Also machining a new gas piston.
I like to tinker 😎
I thought it was ok to add the tube extension if the stock is not collapsible or there is no pistol grip
I ordered the 8 round extension and the tube will not go all the way down to the handguard...did you
encounter this.....
Mine screwed down snuggly against the handguard. Perhaps the threads of the tube are getting snagged? Maybe try fine sanding of the mag tube threads and the inside of the extension tube?
