for someone who played such a cocky loud mouthed character who shouted alot like the mountie I have to say that Jacque Rougeau seems like a laid back chilled kind of guy with so many amazing interesting stories to tell. he is someone I would like to meet and have a conversation with and get to know. he played his character well and nailed it perfectly with his character.
As an 11 year old, seeing the Big Bossman win and send the Mountie to jail for the night at Summerslam 91 was amazing. But now that I'm older, I have to applaud how hard Mountie sold the whole thing...classic.
16:40 - My dad used to wash windows back in the day, & he said he saw André sitting at a bar that he had rented out to just himself at a hotel to be alone & said a "yuppie looking guy" came up to André asking for an autograph for his kid. André turned to him said "Get the f*ck out of my face!"
Great interview, the Mountie always tells such great stories. And James, you are amazing mate, your passion and knowledge always shines through, but most importantly you let your guest speak, tell there story. You are amazing mate, thank you so much for all your content. Keep up the fantastic work.
amazing. He tells his story as if it just happens. Maybe even better. I hope he knows how much he was appreciated. Such a nice guy. Dude, wear your glasses like a bad gimmic 😁
I was immediately transported back to the early 90's at the beginning of this interview. Great,Great interview. And the reason why most people love your videos is cause you let the wrestler (s) talk. 2 thumbs up 👍👍
We are blessed to have someone who is so much a fan, so knowledgeable, and so personable as to get these gems, these life stories, of our favorites and underrated pros. These interviews are absolutely priceless in terms of documenting these histories. It takes a very special talent to bring out the vulnerability in these old school tough guys. And you always ask exactly what we all have been wondering. A shining example of true and pure journalism.
Been watching your interviews for a while James and never realised you only started watching in 93, a terrible year for the WWf by the way lol, but your knowledge is second to none my friend. I started watching in 1985 and you are absolutely on my wavelength with your questioning, great work. Watched a couple of interviews with Jacques and always a good guy to listen to, you can feel his passion and enthusiasm and it shows with him putting on the mountie outfit for the shoot, True pro.
Mountie, Sherri, Model, Shango, Warlord, Shyster... I always cheered for the villains as a kid, no matter if it was in comics, movies or Wrestling, and I adored those people up above. To see now, in awesome interviews like these, how nice, funny, smart, and likeable these "monsters" are in reality... it always gives me a warm feeling inside, like "I always knew it" Great episode. Great Channel.
Wow what a gentleman!!! I remember in 1991 Niagara falls civic and convention center . That night the mountie I think teamed with the nasty boys the wrestled the rockers and the big boss man if memory serves?? After the matches we would always go behind the convention center to where the wrestlers would leave. I saw the mountie and his young child which he was holding along with his wife / girlfriend at the time ? He was a bad heel at the time so not many of the wrestlers would break character. But I remember he got into the car with his family and waived goodbye to everyone.
@@timbow1356 I heard it was the other way around, Dynamite kid (Already the worlds biggest asshole) instigating everything and Bulldog just being complacent. Also, typing LIKE THIS to manipulate emotion really isn't necessary. What is this, the Stew Peters show?
He comes across as very grateful and a nice person; it’s nice to see, especially in a business that has a reputation for so much backstage negativity and tragedy
That is hilarious he mentions the knights inn I thought that was just something we had where I'm from, never knew it was a national chain... That is also accurate... I think the Mountie would be appalled if he knew how much sin goes on at Knights Inns in their own right!
I'm the Mountie I'm handsome, I'm brave I'm strong I, m the Mountie And I enforce the law You can try to run, But you can never hide Cuz' the Mountie Always gets his men I'm the Mountie I'm handsome, I'm brave I'm strong I, m the Mountie And I enforce the law You can try to run, But you can never hide Cuz' the Mountie Always gets his men I'm the Mountie I'm handsome, I'm brave I'm strong I, m the Mountie And I enforce the law You can try to run, But you can never hide Cuz' the Mountie Always gets his men I'm the Mountie I'm handsome, I'm brave I'm strong I, m the Mountie And I enforce the law You can try to run, But you can never hide Cuz' the Mountie Always gets his men I'm the Mountie I'm handsome, I'm brave I'm strong I, m the Mountie And I enforce the law You can try to run, But you can never hide Cuz' the Mountie Always gets his men I'm the Mountie I'm handsome, I'm brave I'm strong I, m the Mountie And I enforce the law You can try to run, But you can never hide Cuz' the Mountie Always gets his men
Loved Da Mountie. I always remembered the saying (and quoted it) as "I'm da Mountie!" Not sure if that's accurate but it's how I did it. :D The good ole Sky Movies days.
@James I'm pretty sure in this interview Jacques said that he would call down to Hogan's Hangout Bar and ask HH why he did the job for him that night in Canada. Just saw on Facebook that he was there last night. Any chance we could get a follow up on whether he actually asked him or not?? Would love to know the story there! :)
113:39 Glad Jacques stuck up for his buddy Dink to Bam Bam Bigelow. 127:32 The Rockers also won the Tag Team Titles from The Hart Foundation but they got screwed out of the titles also.
You probably would like WWF MSG shows with Lord Alfred as they were more serious even back in the 80s or 90s. I am all with Jacques never supported hazing even quit organized sports as would not be part of anything with that BS. Everybody knows the Rougeau family knows all the Families so Hogan had to take the fall. Even Dino Bravo knew as the name might be fictional like Sammy The Bull or Sonny Black but the person is real heh. Frazier is the Mountie in USA. That device he used is common of them heh. Was never a fan of British Bulldogs how treated dog even Dream Team was better Brutus and Valentine. Shame Brunzel along with Blair never got Championships. Dude Arty writer told me story Hogan said "Does it Never End" once heh :).
I like Jacques Rougeau but several times, (44:06) he uses the lords name is vein. I am sure he would not do this if he realized it was offensive. Why doesn't WSI Wrestling edit that out? Why does RUclips not sensor this? They sensor everything else. The fact that saying "Jesus Christ" as a swear word is socially acceptable in a world that claims to be so tolerant and sensitive, proves something. If he said something about about any other religion or sexual group it would not fly.
Wow The Mountie rocking the full gear..great interview!!
What a nice dude. This is awesome. Thank you for sharing.

The Mountie should be in the hall of fame
Thank you for this, he is such a brilliant performer that made wrestling better with every performance, truly.

The Mountie, Rick Martell, And Earthquake Seriously need to go into the HOF Soon !
All three deserve it. Loved all three.
Great interview, the Mountie always tells such great stories. And James, you are amazing mate, your passion and knowledge always shines through, but most importantly you let your guest speak, tell there story. You are amazing mate, thank you so much for all your content. Keep up the fantastic work.
Yes its true......some folks prefer FULL INTERVIEW.....i've seen ur clips.....don't care. FULL INTERVIEW👍👍👍👍
amazing.
He tells his story as if it just happens. Maybe even better.
I hope he knows how much he was appreciated.
Such a nice guy.
Dude, wear your glasses like a bad gimmic 😁
YOUR. NO. 1. AND. THE. BEST. W. W. F. CHAMPIONS. OF. ALL. TIMES
Can listen to him all day.
I always love hearing from Jacques! Can't wait to watch this

I absolutely love jaques rougeau. Hes an incredible athlete, funny guy and kind human being

It's good to listen to a wrestler who doesn't make out as if he could beat up everyone.
Deadly James thanks for the full interview, lovez the longer ones like that man. Cheers brother.
Hands down one of the best wrestling interviews I've ever listened to 👏
Great job, and Great interview.
Jacques was always a class act. Interviewer is really good too.

What an excellent interview partner, Jacques Rougeau. I miss him in the ring as The Mountie.
Great interview , needs a part 2 !!
What a great guy Jacques is. The energy, the enjoyment. Such a character. Loved it. Great, great interview.
The Mountie always gets his man! 🔥
but WHERE does he always get his man...up the a$$?
Jacques is an open book, really great dude today. He still loves talking about wrestling.
Always loved the Fabulous Rougaeu Brothers

What a cool dude .he gets so happy talking about the old days I love it
I layed in bed and watched this on Father's Day, really enjoyed it!
He REALLY seems like a nice guy, like top shelf!
Very entertaining. There would be an endless list of questions I would like to ask Jacques. Definitely could use a part 2 or 3
greatest Intercontinental champion ever
What a great guy, and a super fun interview!
Being a Montrealer growing up 5 mins from the Verdun auditorium it would be great to meet Jacques 😊
Great interview - I love Jacque, could listen to him talk all day.
Looking forward to see the Mountie in J W O in L A California it's going to be a privilege meeting him because the Mountie always gets his man
First shoot in full character, cool!
The nicest man in the whole BUSINESS!😎

How is Jacques not in the Hall of Fame?
The Mountie and The Model Canada was rocking back then.
I love the guys that dress in there gimmick for interviews it’s adds a lot more to the story
The Rougeau Brothers were the best. Raymond is a great interview, too.
Hell yea! Jaques is badass.
That is hilarious he mentions the knights inn I thought that was just something we had where I'm from, never knew it was a national chain... That is also accurate... I think the Mountie would be appalled if he knew how much sin goes on at Knights Inns in their own right!
great interview
Hope you got KoKo's phone number and are booking that interview soon. I'd love to hear some Memphis memories.

I hated the Mounty as a kid. But now I'm older and realize he was just really good at his job
I was never a fan of the mountie but I give him respect he was a good heel. But he seems like a very classy respectful person.
Nicest guy in the business, judging by this interview
My favorite line was "I'm aware of Hannibal"
Loved Da Mountie. I always remembered the saying (and quoted it) as "I'm da Mountie!" Not sure if that's accurate but it's how I did it. :D
The good ole Sky Movies days.
Much better interviews than Hannibal. Seems to be a much better person than Hannibal as well.
yea the latter seems a brute lacking in personality
Yet..: He’s no sean Oliver

Do you still have that Debbie Does Dallas video? Just asking for a mate .
Hall of fame
Jacques tu es très spécial s’il te plaît fais la pais avec ton frère lui aussi est très spécial je vous apprécie.
Post the full Ariel interview
Jacques, if you haven't already asked Hulk why? DO IT. There is nothing wrong with asking him that.
Is this a newly recorded interview??
1974.

His voice is different now he not WWE Hall of Fame
Dangerous to stand behind a horse,I saw one kick a kid.
I seen Terry Funk get mule kicked cutting a promo only to like wrestle after that anyways after getting knocked out stone cold ;).
See, that's why guys don't ask for directions.
