Fantastic! it is indeed 'striking' how one of the two main arguments to reject the Bill of Rights in the Australian Constitution was from fear of the states being limited to exercise discrimination throughout its citizens! amazing! i agree with Ms Charlesworth, a national Bill of Rights in amongst the Constitution will improve democracy not to undermine Australian Federalism! Thanks :)

"undermine democracy"......democracy is nothing but 2 wolves and a sheep voting on what is for dinner. all you need for a healthy society is the reign of law and justice for each and every single individual, not just for the tyrannical, ignorant masses

What constitute homogenous? Religiously homogenous? Ideologically homogenous? Economically homogenous i.e. classless society? Racially homogenous? Look at the history of human society, there were and are no such thing as "homogenous society", society are made up of emotional individuals, not equation programmed machines with same thought and same interest.

Um., just would like to further say the Magna Carta is the Australian Bill of Rights and this argument that we dont have a Bill of rights is yet another legal fiction and obviously a well funded one
Also the reaosn I say assert the Magna Carta is because it predates any modern agenda's.., the Magna Carta was ethical then and is still ethical now. A modern writing of a Bill of Rights will only be twisted in someones favor
