Those user interface boards as well as the main board were a big issue and probably still are a big issue with GE dishwashers.

Yes, I agree. Sometimes the little red fuse will go out and stops all power to it.

The drain hose need to run up to the top of the cabinet or through an air gap fitting. What you did stops nothing but odor

The high loop is actually better than the air gap. In fact some states don’t require air gaps anymore. You want to keep waste water in and odors out. So the high loop is more effective against potential leaks

I have pretty much all the dishwashers. Some are a little different GE is the best. Whirlpool not bad. So is Frigidaire
